The one and only downside I’ve seen is the camera does not turn off automatically when you enter the room. There’s no programming it to do so either. That was an amazingly awesome feature with the guardzilla camera (rip).

It sounds like you are concerned with the features of the device. The Ring Indoor Cam (1st Gen) does not have a privacy cover, However, the Ring Indoor Cam (2nd Gen) and the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam both have a privacy cover.
