This surge protector has 7 outlets 1 is a master out let that controls 4 others and two are always on. This has been great for me. My AV reciver is in the master. my Bluray player, sub woofer, SACD player are all controlled by whether the receiver is on. You may say whats the big deal but if you have a universal remote with macros (Harmony etc) you no longer have to wonder if your device is on already when you trigger your macro. Another bonus is newer tvs like my Panasonic Viera plasma will turn off your receiver when you turn off the TV.

I purchased one of these surge protectors months ago and had only been using 3 outlets because I had plugged the wall wort for my gigabit switch in the "Master" socket without realize what it was for. Because the switch does not pull enough power to enable the rest of the sockets, I had just assumed the stupid thing was broken. I recently found the manual as I was cleaning up my basement and discovered that it requires a device that pulls more than 10 watts on the 'master socket' to enable the rest of the outlets, so that when you turn that device off the rest of your system is shut down as well. The design is absolutely ingenious and I am now using it as intended with my computer on the master socket and all of its peripherals in the 4 it controls, so that when i power off my computer the speakers and monitor turn off with it. It would be better if the there was some sort of labeling on the device itself to let the customer know about the 'master socket' power saving feature without consulting the manual, and a way to disable/enable it via a toggle switch for people who might want to use the master socket for a wall wort type plug.. Minus one egg ...er... star for that.

Got the "rocketfish bundle" (screen cleaner, hdmi cable and surge protector)...4 out of 7 of the surge protector's outlets didn't work on the first product purchased...returned it and got another...guess what?...4 out of 7 didn't work on the second as well...save your money and get a better quality product.

I was iffy about paying $35 for it but it works great with our new tv.

I was originally attracted by the energy saving features, but it then occurred to me that I could also use it to solve a problem we had with the TV turning on all by itself at random times of the day and night. Just plugged the home theater receiver into the master outlet, and the TV into one of the slave outlets - problem solved. Shame about all the bad reviews on this protector by people that didn't read the owners manual or product description on the web. On the other hand those reviews were probably what caused this to be moved to the outlet center allowing me to save a bunch of money.

This is a great surge protector and works flawlessly when used as designed. It turns off the power to the other components when the tv is turned off. No damage to any equipment when transformer blew at substation a mile away. Power went on and off several times within a few seconds but this protected against all the electrical surges. Very happy with this product.

It's a slick looking surge protector that I purchased on sale/closeout. Would never pay the MSRP on it though. Another Rocketfish product at Bestbuy that is way overpriced at MSRP. Overall it is a nice surge protector that is suitable for use.

Product only has 2 outlets. The others must be linked to the primary device. I had to exschange it. I have never seen a surge protector so useless. Comcast also told me I could not use it on a TV, DVD and cablebox at the same time. When I returned it, the staff at Best Buy didn't know what I was talking about. However, they did give me another surge protector. Don't waste your time buying this product.

Same problems as everyone else. Master outlet does not work, therefore that is useless along with the 4 outlets controlled by it. What a waste of freaking money. Too bad I bought it almost a year ago and cant return the p.o.s.

I bought this as a replacement for another surge protection product that had failed. Right out of the box 5 outlets did not work (tested with a volt meter to be sure). Can't recommend.

Didnt work for me. Whenever I turned the tv on...the radio,dvd,blu-ray,WII went on. The main outlet controls all but one outlet. I returned it

Bought 1 at best buy 2 of the plugs didn't work took it back bought a 2nd 1 and some of the plugs on it didn't work.

Not all of the outlets work on this product and I haven't had time to exchange it yet.

Easy to hook up and plenty of outlets. Good price for all options on it.

its okay. i like the covers that have for the outlets that are no in use. specially when you have kids., its very save.

I did not need a battery back-up for my TV or peripherals. This power strip is great. I haven't had a chance to test its ability to block lightning but the warranty is exceptional and I am sure that Rocketfish will honor their warranty.

I returned this item it was causing a surge that my cable box kept resetting......JUNK
