    I had to buy this because the monitor only had DVI and not HDMI. It does the job, but is so overpriced and it does pain you a little bit to actually pay for this. Reminder for those who do not realize, DVI does NOT transmit sound. So if you're looking to go from HDMI to DVI - my suggestion is just go buy a new cheap monitor with an HDMI. It will be well worth it.
