Did not work very well using the vesa mount which was 100mm. Made the vertical brackets too close together. Had to flip the brackets around to gain some width and that helped.

Great mount

Went extremely well with my brand new Vizio 50 inch M series. Took about 15 minutes total to put this up and have my brand new tv perfectly mounted on my wall, so thin, and so close to the wall. Perfect.

Perhaps a bit large for a 40" TV?
