The mount came with a mounting guide so you'll know exactly where you should drill into the wall. Definitely use a stud finder and find the studs in your wall. The mounting screws are extremely large and sturdy. It'll feel like you can hang a refrigerator from the screws once they're drilled into the studs. A drywall anchor certainly won't be enough.

Easy install and it's sturdy. If your looking for one that swivels or pulls out it doesn't do that. We use this one for our TV in our spare room.
