Im only about a week in but am impressed with how well you can pick up learning guitar by playin this. I think by the end of the 60 day mark should be able to play some basic songs. Great game and a tangible skill to take into the real world.

A lot of choices . Highly recommend for beginners or advanced. Found it cheaper on amazon but Best Buy matched their price !

Not sure if this really meant as a substitute for actual guitar lessons, but it is really fun to learn to play songs that I actually like.

I'm a drummer of many years and have always wanted to learn to play guitar. My wife recently bought me a guitar and amp and I went for this game for PC as a way to learn the basics. I find that it keeps me interested enough to keep going day after day, for about 30-45 minutes a day. Just enough of a game aspect to keep it really fun! I would give it 5 stars but the volume level is maxed out and is not quite loud enough. If there's a setting I'm missing I'd love to find it and update my review.

Does extremely little to help the user learn the necessary notes. There is no way to listen to the songs to get some idea of the guitar arrangements. This is very important as most people are only going to know a portion of the songs...
