Customers appreciate the Streambar's impressive sound quality, ease of use, and compact size. Many also praise its seamless streaming capabilities and the convenience of the included Roku and remote control, which can also operate their TV. While some users wish for Bluetooth and an Ethernet port, the positive feedback on sound and ease of use outweighs these concerns. The price point is also frequently cited as a positive aspect.

This Roku Streambar boasts astounding quality for its price. I have 11 Sonos devices in my home, so it's tough to break away from that system. But when I added a TV to an office I wasn't thrilled about spending $500 (or even $400 on sale) for another Sonos Beam. So I took a flyer on the Roku Streambar and I'm glad I did. For just one quarter of the price compared to the Sonos Beam this Roku unit offers excellent sound and of course includes the industry leading streaming system built into the speaker.

Bought as a gift for my wife, bedroom tv, it’s nice to only have one remote. As usual with Roku devices, it’s easy to use. The sound bar is on the lower end of sound bars but much better than tv speakers. It looks good, functions well and very affordable solution. I purchased a cheap universal mount off Amazon $22 and mounted to the TV.

This has been an excellent soundbar for our 32" bedroom TV. It is outstanding at enhancing dialog and compressing audio levels for nighttime viewing. We can watch action movies with explosions and gunshots and horror movies with people whispering followed by loud jump-scares and it keeps everything at a level that won't disturb anyone who wants to fall asleep halfway through the film. No more holding a remote all night raising and lowering the volume. You can even use wireless headphones. If I was looking for fuller sound, I would pair it with the wireless subwoofer for improved bass. It handles highs and mids quite well, but obviously for deep bass you're going to want the sub. If used in a larger room where you are going to watch movies or play video games, perhaps the optional wireless rear speakers. I love having the option to expand. The built-in Roku works quickly, smoothly, and supports all the streaming options I can come up with. No issues whatsoever with Wifi so I think most if not all reviews pointing to issues with connection drops are likely related to general Wifi issues in their network setup in that space and not with this device, in particular. Still, I prefer to have an option to use ethernet. When it is available, as it would be where I have mine, it's an obvious choice over relying on Wifi. I got this on sale and with a gift card, but I would consider paying full price, having owned this product. It earned it.

I've had a Roku player for years and it has always been fine, but the audio set-up I had was overly complex and still only delivered very basic, 2.0 sound. I decided, for the sake of simplicity, to replace the existing Roku and speaker set-up with this unit. I was not expecting much, TBH, and was prepared for some headaches setting-up and/or lackluster sound. Must say that I am very pleasantly surprised on both fronts. The device connected with zero hassle to my Vizio TV, and the sound is very nice. I'm no audiophile, but to me it's a big upgrade over what I had before. It suits my needs perfectly.
What I very particularly enjoy is that this device, unlike my previous Roku player, will power the TV on/off and adjust volume with a single remote. So the overall simplicity, now, with far fewer cables and devices needing power, is an enormous plus.
For reference, the device is attached to a 42" Vizio, in a room about 14 by 11. Sitting about 8 feet away from the speaker, the sound feels very clear and immersive, with all but the highest and lowest ends of the spectrum thinning out a bit.
So as far as value and simplicity goes, I could hardly be happier with it.

So I was in the market to replace an aging Roku and happened to come across the Streambar. Considering the price, I really didn't expect much but the speakers on my bedroom TV are abysmal, so I gave it a shot. My initial impressions were only lukewarm but after a couple of days, I realized just how much it opened up the soundstage on my television and improved the overall experience of shows and movies. So for the cost of this device and physical size, you would be remiss to expect it to perform like a full-blown soundbar, but given the price and size, it is actually an awesome value. If your expectations are realistic you will be very happy owning this Roku Streambar. I certainly am.

It sounds way better than my Samsung TV speakers, but not as amazing as I'd hoped for.
Very easy to set up, doesn't take up too much space. I find the remote is not as quick on this Streambar as it is on my Roku Ultra, that is not a huge deal, but it is noticeable sometimes.
I'm slightly heard of hearing, and it's true, this device does make speech clearer, but if you set the speech clarity too high, you will lose a LOT of background sounds, like music.
I will be buying the wireless Roku speakers to accompany this, as soon as they go on sale. I am hoping that those WILL make the audio sound amazing.
Overall, I recommend this as a great improvement over the speakers your TV has, but don't expect the heavens to open up, and angels sing, and you'll be just fine.

Good Sound, Great Streaming

The Streambar is a compact device, about 14" wide and 4" deep; combining a Roku streaming player with a 4 speaker soundbar. The Soundbar has two 1.9" front facing speakers providing the main sound and two 1.9" side facing speakers which provide fill and depth to the sound. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the sound is, it's not home theater quality but provides clear sound with surprising depth and a big improvement on the stock TV speakers.
The Streambar has an HDMI and an optical input. Newer TVs with HDMI ARC can use the HDMI port to feed the sound. My older Samsung did not have the Audio Return Channel and so I had to use the optical input. Setup was quick and easy, much like other Roku players. You will require a Roku account if you don't already have one. When you log on, the device will automatically scan your subscribed channels and download them, For most of my subscription services, I was also automatically logged on to my account.
The other element in the Streambar is the Roku streaming device. The Roku streamer would fall between the Express 4K+ and Streaming Stick 4K+ in capability, with more robust wifi, but lacking the Dolby Atmos that the Streaming Stick includes.
The Streambar can be expanded by adding a wireless subwoofer and two satellite wireless speakers. As I am using the Streambar with my bedroom television, I am happy with the Streambar without peripherals.
The installer immediately downloaded the Roku 11 operating system, which is a big improvement on previous versions and with the addition of curated recommendations, puts the device on a par with Google or android streaming devices.

We wanted to upgrade our sound from our tv in our master bedroom but didn't want anything too big. Not only did we achieve that in this small but powerful unit, we also eliminated the need for an additional remote. This was so easy to set up, has great sound, and great value because the 4k Roku is built in. This will sound incredible in any size bedroom. Note: if your tv does not support HDMI ARC, you must use a regular HDMI cord- not supplied.

Surprising sound from such a small speaker. Of course, if you want thunderous bass, you will need the add-on wireless subwoofer and you can add two additional rear wireless speakers for a complete surround system. The Roku unit functions just like their other streaming devices and set-up is relatively easy. I use mine as a streaming device/speaker on my boat and my phone or my hot spot is the source. It works better than expected and adding additional channels/services is easy. I have the ultra at home and they share the same account so I do not need to remember two different account passwords or set up another account for this unit. Could not be happier.

This is the perfect gift for anybody. You have access to Netflix, Amazon, YouTube and more. The remote is so easy to use. Searching for an app is super easy. You just hold the speaker button and say what you are looking for. The volume buttons are easy to reach on the side of the remote. The sound coming out of the speaker is awesome. The quality of the sound is way better sound than my TV speakers. I’ve already bought five more of these units for my family members as Christmas gifts.

So far.... I like this Streambar. It improves the quality of sound in my home office with my TCL ROKU TV. It was pretty easy to setup and I am still learning how use all the features. I have only been using it for less than a week. I also like the size of the unit as I am using a tv stand that is only about 30 inches wide.

Quality sound for compact design. Very nice for a master bedroom and still pretty good for a small to medium size living room. Works as good as any of the regular streaming players. Remote is only missing headphone plug in but you can use the phone app with wireless or wired headphone (if your phone still had a headphone jack). This is a good choice for a 2 in 1 device at a great price to give you a streaming player and replace the usual average sound from your TV. Recommended.

I'm admittedly new to cord cutting but very enthusiastic about saving money, particularly when it means not throwing it wastefully at the local cable company. Roku is well known as one of the best options to get one started on the road to streaming. So far, it seems like a great service. What makes this what I would argue to be the best option for Roku buyers is the fact that this combines streaming tech with a decent soundbar. Basically all smart TVs require help in the sound department, which is why soundbars are so important. However, they generally take up more space and only do one thing. This Roku Streambar combines upping your sound with saving my via streaming. It's a great option that really seems to be worth the extra cost. It was extremely easy to hook up and I would say applies even to customers that may not be tech friendly. We all have the older family who needs assistance with every new tech purchase but even that person would be able to set this Streambar up within about 15 minutes.

The only negative critique I have is the way it was shipped from Best Buy. They put the product in another box twice its size without any padding so it was rattling around, I thought to myself great it would be broken luckily it worked. Hey guys/gals not a great way to ship a device. Now for my review: Fabulous device. My other roku's wireless antenna broke and I didn't want to wait for the part. My sound bar was also broken and was debating on repair or new one because it was pricey. I went to purchase a new roku and saw it was both and thought perfect. The sound is good unfortunately my TV won't play through the HDMI because its not ARC but that's okay the digital cable they provide works just great. The product comes with everything you need. Easy setup. It's not my as good as my bose sound. However, The sound is great and for the price you can't beat it. I love that it combines both Roku and the sound bar in one. In addition, it works as a speaker when I project my phone to the television. I'm very happy, don't hesitate.

Let's start with. If you are buying this and expecting Bose quality sound. You have failed expectation management. I am giving this product 5 stars because it is excellent at what it is designed to do and the market it is aimed at.
The sound is good. It is a huge improvement over just about any standard tv speaker. The option to focus on dialog is a strong plus.
I own 3. One for the living room for general tv watching. The bedroom for focused dialog. And one in my office so I can have it sit right on my desk and have the volume down really low so I can watch TV without waking people up or having to wear headphones. It does well in all 3 environments.
A fun thing for those with iPhones/Macbooks and listen to Apple Music. You can connect to all these plus other Airplay devices to have whole house sound.
Another feature I like. ONE REMOTE. TV/Sound/Streaming.

The Truth From a Roku Guru

I’ve had ever Roku, and each have their pros and cons. Here is the simple break down for the streambar after owning for about 4 months. This overall is a great device, which does exactly what it should.
Sound: this is not a stereo system, however it never claims to be. It does deliver good sound from a small footprint. It provides a better sound experience than speakers but will not compete with the soundbar or any other full range stereo. This is best for directional sound especially when one has a hard time hearing speech. It offers a sound leveling and speech clarity settings, which greatly assists me in hearing audio in shows. That by far is where is shines.
Compared to Roku ultra: this is a bit quicker than the Roku 3 versions but is not at snappy as the Roku ultra. This is my 1 and only complaint with the streambar; I would have like a more snappy and less glitchy experience. I seem to have to restart the device about once every couple of days and clear the cache about once a week. I must say that Im picky about speeds and experience so for most it will not be noticeable.
Conclusion: for a low profile, Roku 4K device that great enhances sound-this is the device. I’m sure second generations and software updates will only improve the experience. This is now my main Roku on my 75 inch tv and I would not go back to my Roku ultra. If you have a hard time hearing speech in shows - BUY THIS.

Pretty impressive for it's size. I give it 4 1/2 stars. I am using this with our ancient plasma garage TV but this would work great with any small to smaller-mid size room. You are not going to get ultra high class home theater audio with this but the sound is surprisingly very good. You will need to tweak the settings a bit for your environment but that is very easy to do. I have neither but you can also connect wireless surround speakers and a sub to it. That would definitely add to the overall sound quality.
Initial setup is very easy and will only take you a few minutes if you already have a Roku device and account. If not then best guess is it will take you 20-30 minutes to setup an account and setup the device like you want with your apps. It will take you a bit longer (depending on how many streaming subscriptions you have and apps you want to setup) to login and setup the apps after they are installed. I have had about six different Roku devices over the past few years and this one is the best so far. The interface is the same like all other devices but it is definitely the fastest.
It comes with all of the necessary cables that you would need to hook it up with is very nice. My only very minor gripe with them is the length. You are normally going to put the sound bar fairly close to the TV and they could be a little shorter. My only other gripe is that it did not come with a simple set of wall mount brackets. I ended up buying a simple pair that the soundbar rests on top of.

Super easy to connect and affordable. We knew we wanted a soundbar but we were also looking into streaming devices. This checked off both boxes. It sounds great and you can adjust the bass as well as the clarity of the voices which is helpful for the hard of hearing. On top of that its super easy to use and to download new apps. Tons of free shows and movies included we dont even know where to start. We couldn't be happier with it.

This is a long review, so get ready!
I purchased the Streambar because I wanted to enhance my TV's sound, replace my Google Chromecast, and make my TV even smarter, all while being able to control the TV with 1 remote. If this is what you are looking for, look no further.
1) The sound is great. I was worried that the sound would be better in the original Roku Soundbar, but the price, model year, and reviews for the Streambar sold me on it. The sound is great in my living room, which is about 12x14 feet, I imagine if you get the wireless surround sound speakers the sound would be even better, but it's not necessary for me.
2) The Roku has made my 2016 LG Smart TV even smarter. My TV has built in apps, but they never update with new content, and the TV often freezes when I open these apps. The Roku has made choosing apps and streaming so much faster. It even has the capability to Screen Mirror my iphone without having to purchase an Apple TV! I can Cast from Youtube and other apps like Netflix, and I can also use Bluetooth to stream Spotify.
3) I love that I only need one remote. The Streambar has everything built in, so as long as you hook your TV up to the HDMI-ARC, you can turn your TV on and off and control the volume. This is my main driver for this soundbar, because I hate using multiple remotes, but I also hate huge universal remotes.
4) Using other inputs works well too, but the only thing the Roku can't do is change the input on the TV. You will have to do this yourself by using the TV remote, but you CAN use your Roku remote to control volume. I have not had to reset the sound settings to make sure it works with the DVD player or Game Systems, the sound instantly comes out of the Streambar without a problem.
5) The only problem I had was in the beginning. For some reason, my iPhone wasn't recognizing the Roku as a Casting device, but after about a day, it finally did. I don't know why it lagged, but I'm glad it works now.
6) I know the Roku works with the Google Assistant, but I just got rid of mine because it was always giving me problems, so I can't give a review on the Google Assistant capability.
