I have been using this for a little under a month and it's great. I tried Google products and it was way too clutters. Roku is simple and to the point.

But the reason I bought it was so I could use the USB port with a 1 terabyte drive I have to show family videos. We formatted the drive several suggested ways... but it would NOT play. I wound up trading my new 2024 device (with a friend) for his 2019 version of the Roku Ultra -- which worked just fine. (Apparently, to get more "speed", the newer device sacrificed some "performance" capabilities.)

Its ease of use and not making it overly complicated are the main points of appeal. The Roku ultra is the best streamer for advanced users as well as beginners!

Had Directv for over 15 years, and calculated that we spent close to $15,000 to watch TV, just with that alone. Roku Ultra was incredibly easy to set up. Love that it came with an HDMI cord. We've had no issues for the 2 weeks that we have been using it. I will never go back to cable tv!
