We had a 4-year-old Amazon Fire for our bedroom TV, and it was painful to use. It was never satisfied with the quality of the network, often saying it wasn’t connected. The apps loaded slowly and often malfunctioned, even with constant closing of all apps and some restarting of the device. I wondered if a new device would behave the same, if the whole problem was the strength of the network in this room. It turns out that was not the problem. This Roku Ultra 2024 behaves as if it's in close range of the wireless router, which is upstairs, down the hall, and around the corner. It's an unbelievable upgrade, no comparison. Every app loads in an instant, video appears instantly, and it quickly loads to HD quality. For reference, we have the lowest tier of cable internet in our area. I would compare this to our Apple TV box but with a better remote. The voice control on the remote works great; it quickly understands and finds what I say/request. I’m highly satisfied with this box; it’s the best streaming device in my house.

Have had many Roku ultras and the new model is faster and plays better with my hometheater system.. So far no freeze up or blank screen. The remote is great...light's up and very responsive.

I love having ROKU and I highly recommend it. It’s so easy to turn my tv on, off and change channels. I love using the microphone for YouTube. I can ask for anything I want and it comes up in seconds. I absolutely love my ROKU!!!

This is a fast version of roku ultra. The backlighting is awesome and everything is snappy (as it should be for a new device). I like the remote, which has great quickplay app buttons for popular streaming services. Can we maybe get a programmable version of those buttons, maybe under them all? Qnyways, the boggest problem is with Roku cheapening out by sticking with Micro USB. In 2024, they went with micro USB and no USB-C. About 98% of all other devices are USB-C and heres a brand new device that not only goes with Micro USB, but using a USB-A version of the cable. I've modernized charging ports and almost all of ours are finally USB-C. Now we have to keep old cables for a new streamer.... Also, the rechargeable remote is a bit disappointing as you have to remember to charge it vs swapping out batteries. A good device with poor design implementation

Bought this to replace the 2022 Ultra since it was 30% faster than other Roku device. Don't know what they're comparing since apps do not load any faster, especially Netfix. Wireless/ethernet connection speeds were the same between the 4850 and 4800. Wasn't getting Dolby Atmos so opened a ticket with Roku support. Support is non-existent with constant promises of being contacted within 24 hours. Roku approved a replacement and still waiting for the replacement. They received my defective one 5 days ago. Going on 4 weeks now with over 4 hours wasted on chats and phone calls with Roku customer support. Would not recommend buying if you have an older model Ultra that works. Nothing but frustration with Roku support.

Reliable, fast streaming, and 4K. A small compact unit with Dolby Vision. I especially like the backlit remote.
