Pros: lots of channels and free programming, good quality picture and sound, responsive remote, good roku customer service, soothing aquarium screen saver our child likes
Cons: unit can get hot, no way to turn off other than unplugging, takes a while to input text

This was a great buy. I have an dumb TV in my TV room so I needed something to stream content to the TV. Wow! It made the 1080i look great for what it is. I plan on dumping the old 1080i DLP TV as soon as the bulb burns out.
So I bought this 4K media player in anticipation of my next TV so I haven’t been able to take advantage of the 4K yet.
The Roku is really fast and the remote control has a really nice feel and touch. Lots of selections for streaming content.

I was able to get this at a nice discount price to replace my Premier+ that died after years of use.
Super easy to hook up and set up. It pretty much does all of it for you.
Basically idiot-proof.
Awesome responsive remote. The ability to plug in headphones and also search using the mic is an added bonus for me.
With connection and speeds on my Wi-Fi, I have much better luck with this Roku than I did with a Premier+.
Love the streamer and would purchase another, if anything happens to this one.

I bought the Roku in order to deal with the fact that OnDemand as an app from Comcast on Tivo was being phased out and I needed a solution on occasion. The Roku was far better than I was anticipating in both ease of setup and quality. So far it has streamed and played well with my home network router on the wireless without bothering to connect an ethernet cable which I would have to wire into the location. Great instant solution if you have a router that has the chops to keep feeding the Roku. Fortunately, I do.

This is about my 10th ROKU! It is by far the best one yet. It is super quick! I had to adjust the 4K feature down to play on an older TV. It seems to be a lot sharper, brighter and clearer - I'm sure that the 4K feature does this. It installs or loads easily and quickly. If you have an account or streaming services all you will need is your log-in information and you are good to go. Speak into the ROKU to find your favorite show or channel and you are instantly watching. Great product, and great value!

I'm quite new to the streaming experience... Middle age guy! So, until the UFC signed with ESPN for all future PPV activity I really didn't see the need. However it is, what it is and now I see the need. Enter Roku, heavily recommended by friends, I took the leap and purchased several for several sets in my home.
I am pleased with the speed with which it downloads, the quality of the picture I get and the ease with with I can add other services. I highly recommend Roku for anyone with a need.

Researched and thought about which streaming device to buy, for 3 days. Ended up going with the Roku Ultra. What a great decision it was! Unbelievably faster at loading apps, much better responses time, and the remote is years ahead of others. My ONE AND ONLY complaint, is no mute button for the tv. I also have a fire stick and apple tv at my fathers, and neither compare to the OS, ease of use, integration, and responsiveness as the Roku Ultra. Will be picking up another for our tv in the bedroom!

When I first got this it was screaming fast compared to the Roku Express that it was replacing. It was very impressive. But as time has went on it seems to be getting slower and slower. I have to reboot it pretty often. I don't know if it's an issue with the device itself or maybe a software update. The remote is very sensitive. Sometime just setting it down buttons down will cause it do activate a button, sending it to a channel I didn't intend. I love being able to plug up the headphones and listen to shows without disturbing others. I've only ever used the voice controls a couple times. Worked well when I did. Other than the "glitchy" stuff I have experienced, I have really enjoyed it. Got it Black Friday on sale. Was well worth it at the price I paid.

I’ve had many roku through the years and this latest model is the best. Picture quality streaming YouTube, amazon prime, HBO etc is better than cable tv. If you have a 4K tv, any available 4K content will be displayed in glorious detail. The remote is easy to use and fits in the hand comfortably without looking. I’ve hooked mine up with a power line source, in effect using the house electrical system as a wired connection because the modem is too far in the basement. Amazing piece of technology.

Very fast device. It has an Ethernet input for a wired network connection, which makes it fast and more reliable than wireless. That is my preferred way of connecting it if you have the opportunity to do it. It's a real pleasure to use it. The Roku platform is really easy to use and there are a lot of channels available. This is ideal for cord cutters. There are so many free programs available to watch, you don't need an expensive TV subscription.
Definitely recommended.

The Roku Ultra gets excellent reception. The picture is sharp and the remote is the best streaming remote I've had. The only other one I have had is the Amazon Fire and it does now have the ability to control your tv. The Roku turns your tv on and off and has volume control as well. The screens are easy to access and the aquarium screensaver is awesome. It seems to be able to add any streaming service out there for use by the customer. I am going to replace my other Amazon Fire box soon.

Good independent smart TV for cord cutting!

I always recommend to people NOT to use the built in smart tv features in whatever tv they have. While not everyone listen, the ones who have tried both the built in smart tv GUI in whatever their tv is, and an independent smart tv addon like Roku Ultra or Firestick 4K see a MAJOR IMPROVEMENT. It makes a huge difference to have a device dedicated ONLY to running your smart TV apps, remember, the company that manufactures your TV isnt so much concerned with the smartTV performance as they are the image on screen from other sources. I always recommend Roku Ultra or FireStick 4K to anyone who isnt 100% apple. The pricepoints for the Roku Ultra is slightly more then the 4K Firestick, but its also a little more friendly to use, offers a built in ethernet hardwire option, and a MicroSD card slot, none of which the firestick offers. I also think many people dont realize how valuable a smart tv device like this can be. Most people pay for multiple cable boxes and call it a day, when in fact having a device like the Roku Ultra, can eliminate a cable box with or without a subscription. If you have a cable subscription, you can download many LiveTV apps and login using your cable provider and watch liveTV and on demand reruns same as on a cable box. If you dont have a cable subscription, there are other options to watch LiveTV such as PlayStation Vue just to name one. There are also some other free options, and obviously you can get your YoutubeTV, NetFlix, Disney+, Prime Video...etc on Roku. Drop some cable boxes, or cable entirely, stop using the built in SmartTV features and do yourself a favor and get a Roku Ultra or 4K firestick(if you dont mind no microsd, or ethernet plug. You can buy an ethernet adapter but its only 100mb/s for firestixk).

This is our Third ROKU and first Ultra. This is hands down the best version and even better than the fruit brand device. Not to say the fruit brand one is bad, more to the fact that this was a third of the price and streams practically everything. This is HD/UHD and has HDR which looks great on our Samsung MU8000. The voice option on the remote is nice but we don't really use it. This version is faster the premier and premier plus as well. Overall this is a great option for cord cutters.

Love this! Easy to use can access tons of TV shows and movies in 4K and HDR. It has a lot of features of other Roku streamers, and better than that it has more streaming apps that offer 4K, HDR and standard video streams. This media player makes the available apps and streams easier to find and use. It also provides a convenient source for all your internet video. I also can use it with my old receiver and sound bar.

I have owned several Roku devices over the years. All good but this one is the best yet. Lightning fast, very responsive menus and ability to stream almost everything. Love the JBL earbuds that allow me to watch late at night and not disturb the wife when she is sleeping. Also, I have a NAS on my network and this Roku allows me to stream video, pictures and audio files. I disconnected my Apple TV device completely because this device is much, much better in every way.

I bought 3 for each tv as we decided to try to go without cable. The initial setup was easy. The system is fast and we do like it. However, over the holiday weekend we took one with us to the beach so we could watch what we wanted and were unable to get it to work. The remote was unresponsive and I change batteries but never could get it to work to change WiFi. I called customer service and was on hold 45 minutes and when they finally picked up I was disconnected. I then tried the texting customer service and they were not able to help and told me to call customer service and they would be with me when they could. We gave up so not sure what the problem was and it never was resolved. It reconnected fine when back home but a little frustrating.

I bought this on sale, to replace an older roku stick. While the stick is still working well, the extra features of "ultra" are great addition for the price. I love the head sets that can be attached to the remote, I also like the remote can control the tv set. It was nice they provided headsets, but they were kind of cheap, and did not fit my ears well. I tried the voice control a little, but I do not care too much about it. Overall, I am pleased with roku ultra.

I was thinking of getting an Apple TV but didn’t really feel like paying an extra $100, so I opted for the Roku Ultra 4K. I’m very pleased with it: performs well; organizes all my apps in a very easy to use manner; easy to navigate; and was easy and quick to set up. The JBL headphones that come with it for the remote are mediocre but you can use your own preferred headphones. And if you have Spectrum TV, no worries...you can stream it on Roku.
