I bought this ROKU device on recommendation that it has the fastest processor. Setup was fast and easy; a simple HDMI cable runs from the ROKU to an input on your display device and a supplied wall-wart powers the ROKU. From there just go online and set up a ROKU account and your in business. Operation has been flawless to date. My remote has dedicated buttons for Netflix, ESPN, hulu, and slingTV. Have not looked back at ditching cable.

Roku Ultra Is Still Easy To Use

I have only owned the previous Roku device (still using it on a non-4K TV) and the interface continues to be pleasing and easy to use. The remote for the Ultra has been improved and the [eventually] annoying strap that was previously present has been discarded. The WiFi connection is steady and consistent (though to be fair my Ultra is in the same room as the WiFi router). Overall a great product with 4K support and plenty of channel choices.

I went to a roku from a chromecast ultra, which is not a bad device just not really looking for a 70 dollar stick that allows me to cast my apps to my tv instead of actually housing said apps. Either way this thing is awesome. A bit laggy sometimes, but nothing that will ruin your experience. Easy and simple to use you can control tv power and volume with the remote. I didn't try the headphones as that wasn't why I bought this.

Good unit to stream TV and Movies

Top of the line Roku units to stream TV and movies from Netflix, Hulu, YouTubeTV, etc. Includes both Wired and Wireless Ethernet ports. Remote controls have a mini headphone jack to plug in headphones which mute TV. Included earbuds are usable but you'll want to use nicer headphones. Buy rechargeable batteries if you use headphones on remote as the batteries will be drained quickly. There is NO power ON/OFF button on unit so if you just turn off TV it's possible to continue streaming and using your data. Just go to HOME screen before turning unit off and you'll be 100% safe. There are cheaper units but if you like the idea of headphones on your remote and need/want flexibility of wired and wireless WiFi theses units are a must.

Got this because (1) Fire TV doesn't have a you tube app and (2) Chromecast doesn't play my prime videos. Hooked it up to my new 4k tv and picture looks great with both 4k and 1080 content. Has dedicated you tube and prime app. Can also send to the Roku box. Was a great deal on black Friday. Has plenty of apps to start thinking about cutting the cord. Remote is easy to use. Roku os is ready to use and fast. Would recommend

I’ve been a loyal Roku customer since they introduced their first model ten years ago, and have been upgrading ever since. Last model I had was the Express, which had some minor issues. But when I upgraded to this new model, I was blown away. Speed is phenomenal (especially when playing Netflix), and it is 4K ready. Don’t have a UHD tv yet, but I’m satisfied to have a future-proof streaming device. Highly recommended.

Overall I'm happy with this Roku. It's my first Roku device since my usual streaming has occurred via ps4, my smarttv (though it's stupid because the apps crash so I stopped using them), firetv stick, firetv box, and an appletv. The apps are easy to pull up like with an appletv and it's nice not having to go through tons of curated stuff like amazon does. I mainly purchased this because my other devices didn't support 4K HDR and I wanted that for netflix and prime. Those two services work well. I haven't used many of the other apps, just HBO Now, Crunchyroll, and maybe a few other things I can't recall. Hulu works okay on here but occasionally it messes up when pulling up an ad and when the show starts, the image is zoomed in on one spot so I don't get the whole picture. That's only happened with King of the Hill though, not with The Act, which are the only two things I've had time to watch recently on Hulu (I'll be hitting up the 3rd season of Handmaid's Tale soon). I thought the headphone jack on the remote was a silly idea and I would never use it since I watch half my stuff over the crappy TV speakers and half of it over a receiver and my various speakers so I can play stuff very loud, get some bass, and just overall have a more immersive experience. Anyway, the headphone jack is actually handy when my girlfriend wants to study for the GRE but I want to watch TV. Overall, I'm happy with it. I wish there was a standby/sleep button instead of just setting the time until it automatically goes into sleep mode. I don't feel like unplugging it or putting it on a special slot on a powerstrip just to find a way to do what should already be an option on the Roku itself. That's really my only complaint. It's good for watching stuff!

Roku has changed my life. So easy to use, more reliable and faster than my "SMART" Blu-ray player and TV, this thing is faster, has a better interface and has just been an absolute great purchase. So great in fact that I have bought 3 for each of my main viewing areas and a Roku Express Stick to take with me when I travel. Thank you Best Buy for putting it on sale and thank you Roku for a great product.

I have used the apple TV, and Fire stick and Chromecast, but this is soo much better than the above three, in terms of speed and how quickly the 4k content loads up. The headphone jack on the remote is a great feature for night time viewing. I have noticed that sometimes it reboots on it's own in the middle of streaming. It's annoying but not frequent, hence the positive review.

As a cord cutter my biggest issue was having all of the streaming services in one place. Amazon doesn't have VUDU, and Android TV doesn't have HULU TV. This box allows for 4k, dolby vision, dolby atmos, and has all of the apps, giving me the freedom to pick and choose what is best for me without locking me into one store or another. Couldn't be easier to use or setup and makes life so much easier.

I specifically bought this to play movies from a USB flash drive while out of town at a cabin with no internet. Prior to leaving, I tested the device at home to see how it performed compared to the Roku stick I have in another bedroom. It's clearly faster, but didn't offer anything different than the stick, so, it worked entirely as expected. The device has a microsd slot, but it's only for downloaded channels...which doesn't really make a lot of sense to me since there aren't exactly tons and it has far far FAR less games to download than an Amazon/Apple/Android box. I guess it's nice that they included it though. As for why I bought it.. I was able to load up a lot of movies on my 128 GB flash drive (formatted NTFS) and play them with no problem through the stock media player. It worked fine for the trip and got the job done. I did end up returning the device, however, because I found out I could use a $4 cable that would allow my Amazon Fire TV stick to read contents from a flash drive. I was very happy with this device while I had it, but in the end did not need it.

Where have you been all my life. I cut the cable cord about a year ago and get only local ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS stations. It was very easy to set up and it is so nice to be able to sit and watch free movies and old TV shows when there is nothing good on the local stations. I have one in my bedroom and one in the living room. I will never go back to the outrageously priced cable companies.

Works really well, easy to use. Excellent Wi-fi. I have the cheap little one and works just as well. My Apple Tv is also Great but the Roku price is awesome.... The services and channels are amazing as well. Buy the 4 year protection plan too. I had one Roku that went haywire in the last few months of the warranty and took it in. no problem, full credit and got a new one.

This is so much faster than my original Roku. I get the channel list very quickly now so it makes navigation so much easier. It also has a better wifi so the stream rarely stalls like it did with the old one. The voice command is great to start up the service I want, love that I can now turn the TV off with a button and it's handy to have volume control on the remote.

Roku Ultra: Used mostly for Hulu currently:Use ethernet connection. HDMI connected to TV. Video via Roku displays a more HD quality than Hulu streamed from my Mac. I can tell the difference in the picture quality: 3 times in the last month the picture has stopped, then buffering displays, then after about a minute displays a blue screen with "Connection error." Roku won't respond. Unplug it and plug it back in then it works. Don't know what the cause of that behavior is. The remote is light and small, comfortable shape to hold, but the volume button on the right side is a bad spot, because when turning the unit on or off with the right hand the 3rd finger contacts the volume button simultaneously and interfers. Must press the volume button repeatedly to increase or decrease volume, does not change volume smoothly if you hold the button down like tv remote does. A little annoying if you want to change volume dramatically. Roku remote has no mute button. It needs one. Buttons are not back lit which would be helpful in a dark room. The 4 buttons labled Netflix, Sling, Hulu etc. Those buttons should be programmable for what ever service you are using and be able to assign what you want to those buttons or turn them off, because I frequently accidentally hit the netflix or sling button and the app launches to sign up for those, this interupts what I am watching. Roku Ultra Provides a better hd picture quality than video streamed from my mac. Occassional unusual device behavior. I can avoid the apps on my sony tv which are not as good. The remote could be improved in several ways.

Decided to try streaming when we found we could save over $100 per month on our TV programming. Was uneasy if Roku was going to work for us, but after talking with a couple of friends, we made the change. Setup was unbelievably easy. The remote seamlessly paired with our Sony TV and Boston sound bar. We did subscribe to YouTube TV to get the channels we watch.

I love this one. So easy to use and easy to use the apps on it that are free. I love the volume and power buttons on it. I also love that if it got lost, there's a feature on the box that the remote makes a noise so you can find it. Haven't tried the headphones but glad they came with it. Havent used the voice part on the remote either but probably will find it useful someday.

Great device. Totally serves its purpose for my needs. It's unfortunate I needed it at all, but due to my 55 inch 4k Samsung being made in 2015-16 I needed a device to watch youtube tv on. Since those models wont support the app, but that's another topic for discussion. Bought 2 of these roku, and they both work great. Plug in headphones are a cool feature too.
