I got this because of the price. It was coming in much less than the comparable Insta360 OneX over the Black Friday period. I have to say, I have had the Insta360 One, and I think this is better. The app is very similar and the quality and syncing is better. I can't compare it to the One X because I haven't owned one, but I think for the price this is a good camera to have. I actually like the smaller shape and size for when I take it off and put it in my pocket while snowboarding and the videos have been solid that it has recorded.

I absolutely love this camera! Great pictures... great video and software to edit it any way you like! If you buy a GoPro without checking out this camera, you are making a huge mistake! I have owned my first one for well over a year and it went from a 4K camera to 5.8K just by updating the firmware (AT NO COST)! No more planned obsolescence like the competition!

I’ve been having an absolute blast using this camera on my motorcycle. The videos are great and are so easy to create. The only gripe I have with the camera is that I wish I could record videos while the camera was charging. Other than that, it’s been a fun camera so far!

While similar to the Samsung 360 the Rylo is more refined and handles 360 video more smoothly. The video stabilization does a good job. I found that moving the Samsung 360 around resulted in unusable blurry video, but the Rylo does much better. Easy to use, easy to touch up video and photos and easy to upload to YouTube or Facebook so that you can share a 360 with friends although the upload can take awhile because of the file size. I find that the wireless connection to my phone is very short range so it's hard to get a 360 of a room if you don't want in the picture. I also had to connect and reconnect the cable multiple times to my phone in order to download pictures. All formatting of 360 images is done on the camera so you can't just pull the raw images off and have anything very usable. Overall I'm very pleased with this camera and use it often. I think the price is fair for what it can do.

Perfect camera for starting 360 video

The beauty of this camera (and others like the GoPro Max/Fusion, Insta360 One, etc) is in the ability to just record everything in 360 and then edit out a stable "normal" video. For the price, this is an almost perfect camera. The caveat is that it's been discontinued - however, if you are ok with no future updates and potentially limited manufacturer support, then it's great. The image quality is slightly worse than the others, especially in low light, but it's fine for Facebook/Instagram and ok for YouTube. The stabilization is awesome. The mobile app for me has been great (download the app to see if it'll work with your phone) and though I've downloaded the Mac app I haven't tried it out yet. I got it bundled with the selfie stick and adventure case (note that the GoPro's and the 360 One R are already water resistant). Every one of these cameras has some trade-offs, but for me this was the best value of those available.

I have so far used it for pictures, but will be taking it to Florida snorkeling with me in May. Works great and the included invisible selfie-stick and water proof case just sweeten the deal. Yes, I read the deal about the company, but hey how many cameras have you ever needed support for? And let's be honest, their software is freaking awesome which is why they were acquired. If you don't believe me, just check youtube for video reviews and you will see why this camera is awesome.

I am from the Bay Area where you can’t get bored. There is so much to do and this little camera captures just about every moment in my life. I definitely enjoy it more than I thought and I would recommend to anyone that doesn’t only party every weekend but actually goes out there and explore. I LOVE APPLE AND I LOVED THE RYLO EVEN MORE WHEN EDITING THROUGH MY IPHONE! Great software, the compatibility with IOS is just amazing. GREAT QUALITY TOO! A top-Notch device

This is a truly amazing camera. I give it 4 stars because the side stitching is sometimes noticeable. An extension stick, spare batteries, action case, and freestanding charger are a must if you plan to take serious footage. Note that you cannot edit video on a PC. I use an iPad Air 2 and it's fine. To keep yourself from dominating the rear view you need to use a selfie stick or hold the camera above your head, so it's more noticeable than other action cams. I'm very happy with my purchase so far, a nice addition to my Sony and GoPro action cams.

I have had the GoPro Hero 2 in the past. Re-watching any of my videos from either skiing or mountain biking was very hard to do. Not wanting to attach any sort of gimbals Recording any sort of activities what is no longer worth it. After seeing several reviews online I purchased this product when it went on sale for $100 off. Have only used it a few times but have found it to be a worthwhile purchase. The ease of use of not only the camera but also the app for the phone and for the desktop Makes this a product that I keep wanting to use. Stabilization is fantastic.

I bought it for the great price and quality. It's a discontinued product. Batteries can't be found but just use it like you would use one with an internal battery. Only MacBook software available but you can stitch and do basics with the android or iOS app. Then copy the mp4 to a computer for editing. I bought the adventure case because the lens is fragile (first order returned for scratches on lens) But the footage is sharp and stable. Much better than Samsung gear 360 (2017)

This action 360 cam is smaller than the bigger brand, cheaper, but way more user friendly! Even mounted on a buzzy Honda Grom the stabilization is superb and the phone software is super easy to use. By capturing every angle you can review moments over and over from every angle! Absolutely in love with this camera!

Wasn’t aware that if you plan on getting rylo shot footage into the rylo app for editing you must use the rylo sync cable. The problem with this is that the longevity of use depends solely on a small proprietary sync cable (which was included). But You have to keep up with it since essentially it is your camera. Well its your bridge to all the cool editing stuff the rylo app can do. I got very nervous realizing all the money I had spent was banking on the little cable never breaking or getting lost. I expressed my concern To rylo and asked for some extra cables to be given to me since Best Buy was out of stock which wasn’t a relief. I also asked customer service for a replacement lens for the Adventure Case because even though I have been ultra careful I still ended up with a flat speck of a spot on one of the lenses and had to use the spare that was included within the week of purchase. You wouldn’t believe how tiny a spot will be seen as a big blurry chunk on the footage. Haven’t heard about the Adventure Case lenses but I was told they don't make any money off of the cable. So why is their app so cable dependent?? To put rylo shot footage into the rylo app on your phone it must go through the cable. But if you have a wireless sd card reader you should be able to allocate your footage via the micro sd card rylo uses. You should be able to pop the card out of the rylo, Then using a third party wireless card reader you should be able to transfer the footage into your phone’s photo album. From there the rylo app should be able to detect its own and edit. This should be an alternative method to the tether. But there is no alternative. It’s all designed around this little sync cable. And the camera isn’t a camera when charging or connected via sync cable. You can’t take footage without unplugging and you can’t transfer without being plugged in. So I didn’t see a request for extra cables as being unreasonable. But it didn’t fly with rylo. They weren’t even flowery about their not offering to help. It was just .. “Hey (my name), We are getting more in stock later this week if you'd like to purchase them reach back out then.” Not even an “I’m sorry sir”. I wouldn’t recommend this camera unless they patch the app to allow more methods of transference of the footage. Or unless you absolutely don’t care about using their software. It shoots pretty decent footage and the camera itself is well built if not for being a short awkward to handle egg size camera. Having to babysit a tethered camera and phone is an awkward demand from the form factor. It’s mandatory that you use a table top for operation if you do it in the safest way possible for the exposed lenses. You can’t connect the cable when the camera is protected inside the Adventure Case because the Adventure Case is meant to be an enclosure. So you have to Carefully remove the rylo from the Adventure Case, set the Adventure Case somewhere safe realizing both Of the Adventure Case lenses are vulnerable to lens scratches (so find a soft place to set it lens down or balance it on edge), now keepIng your fingers off of the exposed rylo lenses, plug the cable into camera and phone, set each down gently being mindful of their awkward tethering Via this short cable or hold both with either in either hand so as not to risk your phone scratching one of the rylo lenses while both phone and rylo are being held in one hand. Reverse this process and shoot again but don’t dare lose track of that cable! It’s just so cumbersome and I know there could be alternative methods but my they must enjoy selling that sync cable. Which They say doesn’t make them any money.. “The bluetooth wireless rate is very slow and can only do basic camera controls. It would take ages for a Rylo video to transfer. We will be selling the cables at cost so it's not about making money.” So I went from being very excited about the product to Gaining real world experience with its operations and now that customer service has proven to be unhelpful (though responsive) it’s just an anxiety producing gadget. Depending on their next correspondence I will or will not return it. I probably should return it and wait on something with better form factor to be similarly priced and get that. I’m likely to return it.

Wow, I cant believe how cheap this has gotten. It might be too cheap. I'm worried people will think it's a crappy item but it's really nice. Granted, I've never used a gopro, and I'm sure they are nice as well, but I really have no complaints about this item. Maybe the fact that you have to take out the memory card, Instead of conne ting it to a computer, which is my only complaint.

I so wanted to like this camera. As of 8/2019, it appears that the camera still has numerous flaws. Day 1 - My wife was holding the camera while filming. I noticed the camera was off. Obviously, we did not get footage. I just thought she pushed the top button for too long and shut the camera off. She claimed to have done a single push and confirmed red light was recording. Shortly after, the camera was powered off and no video recorded. This happened a number of times during the day. The few videos captured on Day 1 were good quality. Just small clips so I could test the Android app. Day 1 Android app. - A main feature, Tracking (or follow me) in the android app is borderline useless. Every attempt to track a subject results in a fail at some level. I emailed Rylo tech support to inquire if there would be an update to address this. The response was that "here are times when the tracking may not lock onto and follow an object if it has the same contrast as the background, if it's far away in the field of view" On one video, I attempted to track a person wearing a BRIGHT YELLOW event shirt. Even that was not successful. Used the camera 2 other times over the week. Missed many videos and couldn't figure out why. Yesterday, I started video, witnessed the red led and video timer. Began to drive and when we stopped, I went to stop recording. The camera was already fully powered off. Turn it on and still had 74% battery. This happened too many times to count! I could overlook the unreliable tracking. I can't overlook the constant camera "error" followed by shutdown. This camera and/or Android app are not ready for release. Returning camera for refund.

Simple setup, works with Androids, the 360 video is amazing, I do think its a pitty that you can't use any memory SD card you have, it gives errors, but there is no instructions of this, found out when I inserted a card with more memory.

It's get hot if you shoot video from a static position, but I use for photos and short videos without any issues. Editing is easy and the images are clear are good. Consider that is out of production and out of support, company was bought. The bundle I got for the price was really good.
