this game was definitely worth the 34.99 (when it was on sale) i really enjoyed the storyline, very fun and it was challenging if i could i would give it more stars, i'd give this game a 8/10 rating, although i did notice something in the my stats, while i was looking at my stats i noticed how many escorts i completed it said '5 out of 3 completed' i mean is that normal or did the 2 tiger escorts count? overall a very fun game

Does shooting pedestrians out of a cannon attached to a car interest you?
How about streaking?
If yes, I'll get on to the actual review, otherwise you can go back to being boring,
This is a much better game than the previous two in the series, not that the first two were bad; this is just completely different in a good way. First, it's not in any way a serious game, which is great, as we have enough serious stuff already. As mentioned above, that is only two of the ridiculous things in this game. Most I cannot mention on here and without spoiling the game.
I'm really looking forward to the fourth game, just hoping it's just as crazy.

While some minor features from SR2 were taken out the game it still remains extremely fun. Unlike similar games (GTA series) this game does not take itself too seriously and reminds us all of why we started playing games in the first place. Even when it came down to playing an epic game like Skyrim I found this game harder to put down. I highly recommend you pick it up and see for yourself.

Good Dumb FUN

Pretty much my title says it all , if you're looking to play a video game to actually "play" and have "FUN" then this game should scratch the itch.
Highs for me: Voice Acting and Create-a-Character are pretty awesome, Story line is somewhat coherent but the main reason to play and progress through is to see what totally INSANE scenario they throw at you next. TONS OF CONTENT to play through (some better than others)
Lows for me: Beginning missions are mostly just "This is how to do this specific side mission tutorial ... " All of those missions are pretty bland. They're optional after you do them once but they do tend to stack up back to back after first leading to some lulls in the "good dumb fun" department , Graphics are a little dated (at least on the 360) and the city doesn't really feel like it's a living breathing city , which is something GTA IV did better.

I had 60 dollars sitting around an i wondered. Between the new assassins creed or saints row 3 (SR3). And this was obviously the buy. When i first saw this game i thought it was dumb and childish. But this game came through to make me laugh many times. If you are waiting for gta 4 BUY THIS GAME. It will hold you over. Its has loads of this to do and the free roam in general is great. This is a huge up grade from sr2 in every way EXCEPT the online which upset me. Because they took ot out completely (co-op) is still here. But the loads of things to do in this game makes up for it. Its a must buy. But plese know this game is very mature and is reccomed for adults only the lowest age i will go for is 16 for your child.

Good, but not better than Saints Row 2

Saints Row the Third (hereafter simply "SR3") tweaks a few things in Saints Row 2 (SR2) and largely misses out. This doesn't feel like a true sequel but almost a reskinned game. You'll run through the same activities (Snatch, Fuzz, Heli Assault, etc) but this time you won't unlock bonuses like taking no damage from fall or unlimited ammo from them. Instead, there's a new system emphasizing experience points. You earn respect and as you level you can buy the aforementioned perks with the money you've earned. Compared to SR2, this severely handcuffs you in your approach.
In SR2, I could unlock some sweet bonuses first, then tackle the missions. Here, you're forced to level up via respect and buy these things. By the time you unlock them, you'll have nearly no use for them. The activities only reward money, and not even that much. The game is pretty easy, especially in co-op. Co-op is a blast and certainly a must.
Improvements in SR3 include being able to upgrade cars at any crib with a garage instead of driving to a Rim Jobs store. The custom characterization is decent, but I feel it's inferior to the SR2 system. There doesn't seem the ability to mix and match as in previous games. The fighting style is gone too, replaced by interesting attacks when you hold down the "Awesome button" but I miss the personality of chosen attacks.
The weapons seem fewer, though you can upgrade them usually through four levels. As an example, pistols can be upgraded once to hold more rounds, again for a laser sight, again for faster reloading, and finally to include explosive rounds. This is kinda neat, but there's no way to back track if you don't like an upgrade. You can buy plenty of ammo for cheap so it's never a problem. Honestly though I've used the pistols for maybe 75% as they're good enough, and the other weapons don't feel as necessary.
The story is pretty banal and predictive, but you're not playing a game like this for the story. There are some interesting characters and cameos, and the voice acting is top notch. If you liked SR2, you'll probably like SR3. I find it decent, and have high hopes for the upcoming DLC, but so far this is not nearly as exciting as I expected all year.

Saints Row the Third is a MUST HAVE for gamers

I enjoyed this game as it is fun and challenging. Not much bad to say about it and I can only say good things as it kept me entertained for a long time.
Nothing good to say about best Buy though as they shipped it using some combo of UPS and USPS and USPS promptly lost it. Calling Best Buy customer service was terrible as I had to do it multiple times to receive the proper help.Whatever company Best Buy outsourced their CSR dept to does a lousy job and will keep me from ordering from Best Buy again.
The makers of Saints Row the Third did a GREAT JOB! This game is better than the last GTA series games.
it's a must buy and a must play game! 5 Stars. Now I need to go back to Skyrim. Thanks for reading this.

This is by far the best one of the series. Great new characters, nice voice overs, and better graphics. If you liked the other Saints Row games then you should definitely check this one out.

Saint's Row Third

Ah.. The Row.. it is a series that every game should be like. If you want realism.. then quit staring at a tv and put down the piece of plastic in your hand and go outside. This game is plain fun.. crazy crashes, wild missions, plenty to find... all in an open sandbox arena.
Quick Saint's Row background.. everyone knows GTA and you can almost see the designers making this game. As though in a meeting on GTA they said "what if we added ______" and the table said no, we have to keep GTA "realistic".. so they created Saint's Row to utilize all the fun ideas.
Saint's Row 3 is a mirror to GTA Liberty City, just like Row 2 is like San Andreas. Both 2 and San Andreas are two of the great games ever made and the follow up versions fall short in ways.
My thoughts on major areas:
Graphics - MUCH better than the pasts. Not over the top, but clean. Wrecks are good and cars are good. Create a character is awesome
Controls - SO GLAD the driving controls are on the trigger. (my one compliant with #2) Helicopters are MUCH easier to control. Not sure if this is just hardcore, but loved not having the auto site controls. Aiming is more difficult, yet a good challenge. In GTA, I could mow down 100 people with a SMG, no problem.. now it takes some skill and fun.
Music - What I loved about San Andreas was the "random" music. I loved the old school country tracks as I plow down the highway. This soundtrack has some 80's classic.. nothing better crashing through Steelport to "I need a hero.." The classical station is awesome too. I am not into new, gangsta rap.. if you are, then you could be disappointed I guess.
Gameplay - Full story took me roughly 13 hours doing the minimum on hardcore. I have tons of neighborhoods to clear and side missions. I miss the sewer truck like everyone else. The others missing weren't my favorites, so not really missing them. Heli Assault is MUCH better with the better graphics. The aerial vehicles are all very good! Not sure I understand the complaints about side missions and the story.. it happens a few times, but not a big deal to me. The missions are a good mix of hard.. not too easy, but not pull your hair out and throw the controller difficult. Several took tons of tries while others were knocked out first time through. The checkpoints are in good spots.
Glitches - surprised the haters haven't commented that there are some glitches. I don't really care, but some people might be bothered. I got stuck inside a vehicle a couple times due to spawning and had to blow myself up. The "disappearing vehicle" glitch from #2 is gone.. the one where there is a car behind you, turn your head and then back.. its gone.
Overall - If you love Saint's Row.. you will love #3. If you are a video game snob, you could find issues. #2 is still the best of the series, but this is not a far second and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!! Long live The Row and PLEASE make another!!

Picked this up on sale at bestbuy for 35 bucks. Lots of fun side missions to play along with a pretty good story line. New gun, New vehicles, better fighting features. Sucks that they won't make a bigger multiplayer and that it's just 2 person co op but still alot of fun with all the customizations for your character, vehicles etc.

Crazy over the top action

This game has huge amounts of violence, over the top action & lots of profanity & a little nudity. If you are sensitive to any of these, steer far away from this game. If you enjoy those things in your game, then you need to check it out. This game doesn't take itself seriously, so as long as you go in not expecting ultra-realistic scenarios to play out and are fine with everything I mentioned previously, you will probably enjoy this game a lot.

The game is very graphic and violent, but that should be expected from this third installment of the Saints Row series. The game should only be played by people who are not offended by graphic content, vulgar language, and excessive violence. Otherwise, it is a great game to enjoy yourself.

This game is awesome. It basically lets you do all of the awesome parts of GTA (getting planes, no damage, rockets, chainsaws) and lets you destroy everything. You can even make your car act as a tank to crush everything, or make people throw up by throwing jarred fat at them.

I loved this game so much that I bought it again! I played saints row 4 and found it to be way too outrageous, which is honestly what the series is known for. But I liked the rise and climax in SR3. It was very entertaining.

Fist thing I have to say is that I love this game its better than saints row 2 to me. If you liked saints row 2 better than saints row (the original) you should at least like this game. I think its the best saints row so far I own all 3. story mode has a select able difficulty. Not as violent as the older saints rows I think. No where near as much drug use you cant get high or drunk on this one or I haven't figured out how to yet, and hookers just walk around nothing special.
