what a great, great horror film. It is a must see, the vampires finest moment. its a warner brothers classic!!!!

This is one of the best vampire movies especially based on one of the best vampire books written. Since it was a TV movie from the 1970's, you probably wouldn't expect much but you'd be wrong. The story deviates from the book quite a bit but it makes up for that in creepiness and originality that holds up to this day. I became a Stephen King fan as a high school student because of this movie and have not been disappointed since. This is another example of a great Best Buy exclusive steelbook and the print is great (the graininess from the TV print is intact). Worth every penny.

Have been wanting this for a long time... I didn't realize that it was an episodic release originally, but that kind of makes it neat too. Played this on our new 75" 4K tv and It really made the difference to the enjoyment and almost immersive. This reminds me of Escape from Witch Mountain - so Very Disney-Like. - Classic of the era. I was very excited to see Salem’s Lot finally on Blu-ray. I had it on dvd but the quality of this version is much better. And it was available at a great price with steel case packaging. I remember watching the original miniseries when it first aired and it’s always been one of my favorites. Highly recommended.

In my opinion, this is one of the most scariest made-for-TV movies ever made. The creepiness and frightening scenes are very well done. Who can forget the scene where the child vampire comes scratching on the window one evening. Highly recommend this movie and now it's even better on Blu-ray.

I remember when this was on T.V. when I was a kid, too scared to watch in then. I have had my V.C.R. copies and a DVD over the years but I was very happy with the quality of the case and movie transfer. I looks great next to my Stephen King collection of movies.

I have always been a big fan of anything that is vampire lore, and this classic always remains chilling and frightening. James Mason is never better. The tale remains chillingly haunting. This memorable film has always been in my collection, and it's now such a real pleasure to have it in sparkling Blu Ray.

I loved Salem's Lot from the first time I read the Stephen King novel. I enjoyed the movie when it was originally released and enjoy it today. This move really holds up. Love the fact that it's on Blu-ray. The price was great also! Thanks Best Buy.

This is a great movie one of my all time favorites it is a long movie 3 hours I think but it doesn’t get boring the story moves really well. This Steelbook version is better then the old one because this 1 comes with a digital HD code.

The first of the television adaptations of a Stephen King story. It captures the essence of the book with all it's eeriness and Gothic presentation. Still holds up for a good scare and introduction to the world of Stephen King.

I watched the original tv series back in the 80’s and loved it. They televised it in its entirety. I have wanted it in my collection and now glad i have it. However i am very disappointed in the fact the blu-ray is the edited shorter version and removed all the good stuff that i originally saw on tv when i was a teenager. Still good though.

'Salem's Lot was the first novel by Stephen King I read and partially got me into horror. I didn't see this film until way later, but it's a fantastic, just, and great adaptation! The steelbook casing makes it totally worth the purchase

Wanna get scared? Can't say don't watch this alone. Doesn't matter if someone is with you or not with this movie. Get this one and be afraid to even go outside. I'll stop there so no spoilers are in my review.

A really scary movie without the gore. One of the best Steven King stories put to film. An absolute must see for fans of horror. The full length movie as it originally broadcast on TV.

I bought the blu-ray on a whim and I was transported back to my childhood watching this. Still holds up and is another reason why Tobe Hooper was a horror legend of a director.

This film scared me as a kid. It is a classic adaption of the King novel. The Blu-ray looks good for a '70s made for TV film. I highly recommend this for any horror fan.

More years ago than I care to remember, 'Salem's Lot was the first book I ever read by Stephen King. I have always been a horror fan, in books & movies, and though this filmed 'Salem's Lot was a TV film, it was very well done and retained it's scary atmosphere. Coincidentally, I reread the book not long ago when recovering from an operation, and it held up well. When I had the opportunity to pick up the Blu Ray recently, I took it and I must say, I probably enjoyed it even more this time around than I did originally back in the 70's.(Seems like a long time ago!) David Soul was never a favorite actor of mine, but he did a very creditable job in the lead role in this film. Tobe Hooper is a very experienced Horror Film director, having done the classic Texas Chainsaw Massacre, among many others, so all the elements clicked together well. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a creepy evenings viewing.

Watch this to see what happens when you go away for awhile and return to your hometown to only find out everyone is different in a bad way. That's all i can say without any spoilers.
