Samson has really made broadcasting simple as this little gadget bears witness to! Setup was truly a plug and play experience as I elected to use it on a Windows laptop PC with the USB connection. Shortly thereafter, I was up and running. Sound produced from this Mic is pretty clear as I did not receive any distortion or echoing. I am going to use this microphone a lot as I am doing more live streaming as such usage for this gadget comes right on time!

This mic has amazing build quality and alot of features in a small form factor. You can set 3 different pick up patterns depending on what your recording which is a huge plus. It's also an awesome traveling microphone. I used this microphone to record some demos on my device with the included lightning cable. It was literally plug and play. Made it super easy to start recording high fidelity sound with minimal setup. Definitely recommend as a starting microphone and a good traveling microphone for when you want to just record those spur of the moment recordings.

First Impressions this mic reminds me of the days of Frank Sinatra swooning into this similar styled mic,attached to a mic stand. Seems to be crafted really well,has weight to it . No cheap feeling to it at all. All of the controls are placed neatly on the front with everything easily accessible. There's a simple to understand led light that shows the status of the mic. Ideal if you have your own podcast, stream or even if you just want to use it for dictation. Great for interviews. It has the ability to record in 3 different modes. One in which the mic picks up what is directly facing it, another that does this as well as what is facing the opposite side and last which basically records everything around the mic like a surround. The clarity and quality was excellent especially cancelling out background noise. Overall a very nice buy for someone looking for a great mic. Would recommend to others

We received this recently and tested it on a laptop and iPhone. The quality of the sound was fantastic and it was easy to set up. The 3 pickup patterns that change with only the flip of a switch. The sound quality does degrade as you get further from the microphone. As long as you are within 2 feet of the microphone you won’t be disappointed.

Super easy to use and simple set up right out the box. I got this for video promos for my photography company and I absolutely love how clear and focused my voice sounds. It’s small, portable, feels really well made and durable, and only uses my phone battery. Definitely makes me sound more professional on my videos. Excited to use it more!

I opened up the box and saw the Samson microphone, which looked well made. The controls seemed straight forward with 3 settings for single, dual or group recording. There is a mute button, on/off switch and an LED with 3 lights. Installing the mic in Windows 10 and OsX Catalina was simple, just plug in a 3.5mm headphone cable and plug the USB cable into the PC. That's where the simplicity ended. I read the box for software to test the mic with and it showed Motu Performer Lite available. In order to download the included software, I had to enter the serial number. Unfortunately it didn't work and stated that it was invalid. I contacted the manufacturer, but it was CES week and he email his office to send a new serial number. It took 24 hours and another email to get a code. I then dl'd the software and it wouldn't install on either Windows or Mac. I emailed the office for assistance, but no replies were received. I resorted to figuring it out myself. On Windows 10 Home (fully patched) I had to download the Visual C++ 2017 redistributable (x64) and install it as Motu Performer Lite had the x86 version packaged with it. My Ryzen 7 machine wouldn't install the 32 bit version for whatever reason. Once I installed the 64 bit version, the software found it and was able to install the app. I would have preferred they activated the serial number on the unit as I'm unable to register the product with the company and the furnished serial isn't accepted in their registration entry. With OsX Catalina, I had to go into permissions and change "Allow apps download from:" to App Store, not App Store and identified developers. Once I changed that and locked it in, I was able to install the OsX version. I then checked the mic on each platform to see if it was working. In Windows, I just opened the sound settings, clicked recording and was able to test the mic. I also tried an online webpage and was able to show that it was on. In OsX you go to the sound settings, click the input tab and talk. Now that I know it works and the software is installed I'm ready to test it out. Not so fast NOOB. I've never used Garage Band, Performer Lite, Adobe Audition or any type of audio mixing/recording software. I figured I should be able to get it to record a single audio track, like for a podcast, but this NOOB wasn't able to. All I was able to do was start the app and see the green (ready) light go to a flashing red (clipping) light. I went the included manual, but it only has instructions for the mic, not the software. I tried clicking the help tab and it has a users guide button, but nothing happens. I went to the website, but didn't find any luck there either. I do wish they offered a manual or video with a quick step by step setup to get started. A few minute video on how to record your first podcast would be great. I guess I'll be searching for videos to help me figure it out. Lastly, what manual there is, I noticed at least one error. On pages 4-5 there are two number 7's. 6 points at the mount, but is for the on/off switch. 7 says mount on the bottom of page 4 and then the real 7 is on page 5 with the headphone output. I really wish more time was spent on the manual. This seems like a beginner price point and having the software explained a little more throughly would have been appreciated. I like the overall construction, it looks nice and I'm sure once I figure out how to manuever the software, I'll enjoy using it. One suggestion is to make the legs stay in place once the users has it set. The legs fold down, but don't stay in place very well. They are really easy to splay out. I'd prefer they take a bit more effort to open or even click in a number of places, rather than bumping it and having them drop straight out to the sides. I'd love to give this mic a 4 or even 5 star, but for an advanced computer user with limited recording skills, I find the mic and software with too many issues. Without rating the included software and my issues of installing it, I'd say the mic is a 4 star. Fixing the legs to stay in place once the user is happy with it would make it perfect.

The Samson - Satellite iOS/USB Broadcast Microphone operates excellently for any broadcast setup. It makes my voice sound just as professional as a journalist on main stream media. The quality of the produced vocals is top of the line. Peoples’ voices are picked up from any area within the room and sound as though the person is speaking right in front of the microphone. Multiple people speaking at the same time can be heard clearly without any distortion. The three vocal pickup patterns available are Unidirectional, Omnidirectional, and Bi-directional and all three patterns work perfectly. I can notice immediately the change of pickup patterns in my headset plugged into the headset input. There is a separate mute button and separate headphone volume control. The Samson - Satellite iOS/USB Broadcast Microphone can be attached to a standard threaded mount or placed on a flat surface using its three folded legs. I have no complaints about the Samson - Satellite iOS/USB Broadcast Microphone.

The Samson is the best iOS microphone I have ever used. It is easy to set up, just plug and play! Touch sensitive mute controls, and directional options make this the perfect microphone for recording important meetings or live streaming my favorite games.

This microphone was great for On The go podcasting and able to capture audio. It was simple to plug in and was recognized by OVS and Xsplit to capture gaming stream audio. It had clear audio with minimal feedback.

If you are looking for a high quality microphone that works with PC/Mac and iOS then search no more. You can use the very clever included legs that fold out to mount on a table or other surface or mount on a mic mount with the usual standard threads. The audio captured sounds great, you can use with a monitor or without. I use with my iPhone and iPad. If using the iPad pro as I do you will need a USB to USB C adapter but once you do it works flawlessly. You also need to make sure the app you use will allow external mic use. In closing don't hesitate to buy this, its is a high quality tool for creators.

After opening the box and setting up the Samson Satellite iOS/USB Broadcast Microphone, I downloaded Anchor's IOS podcast application and began speaking into the Samson microphone to test out the setup. It worked like a charm, so easy to get started and the audio quality was excellent! Where has Samson been all my life?!!!!! Without reservation I highly recommend this Samson Satellite iOS/USB Broadcast Microphone to you.

Audio is very important when producing content. You need a good mic with minimal static. This is that mic. Wow. This is great to use while streaming--the audio sounds so clear and crisp which is great. And when recording voice overs or karaoke, it's like you're in a mini studio. As technology improves, we're starting to get better quality products at an affordable price.

This microphone is amazing. It not only works via a usb cable to a pc, but it also will work with an iphone with included lightning cable and will work with a Google pixel with an otg adapter. This works great for podcasting and other applications.

This mic provide a clear, high quality result when recording with the iPhone camera app. The difference is very noticing when recording the same thing with and without the mic. Would def recommend.

Loved this product %100 better than any microphones I ever used

Worked great for about a month and then simply stopped working. Sent it back to the manufacturer. Either they sent the same mic back or there's some systemic problem with this mic and Windows 10. I tried it on 3 laptops and an iPad, all with various cables, and none of the devices recognize microphone, neither the original nor the one they sent back to me. Very disappointed!

Piece of garbage. Micro USB input broke within 3 months. Keep the box because Samson puts the serial number on the box but not on the product itself for some dumb reason. Don’t buy. I’ve bought nicotine vapes for $20 that have better micro USB ports

Bought this microphone and within a week stopped working, no good help from their customer service and will want you to pay the shipping for something that didn’t work
