I had seen this product on a You-Tube presentation. The sound from the speakers did impress, even via You-Tube. The product was on sale for $199, which after checking various websites, turned out to be a very good deal. Have yet to record using the product, but have connected the Mic and used the speakers to support a Dulcimer activity. The sound produced was very good. Only thing I would have wanted was a longer Mic cord, but all in all a good product for the purchase cost.

If you are into home recording, this is a great package. Everything you need in one place, with pretty great quality as well! The monitors have a great, full sound, the microphone is crisp and clear and the software is relatively decent. To the regular ear this is as good as it gets and if you know what you are doing you can get amazing recording out of this thing. Even if you don't use the microphones the speakers are great by themselves.

I am amazed at what I got for $250.00. I needed some recording software and an input device for my computer so I bought this thinking I could upgrade later. No need. After using this product for only a week, I am happy to say that it won't be necessary! True, I upgraded to the Cakewalk Sonar X-1 Producer software, but Cakewalk gave me $200.00 off just for having Sonar LE that basically came free with the bundle! And the sound quality is ridiculous. Blown away is an understatement. The included CO1 Studio condenser mic with mini desk stand sounds great and it all couldn't be easier to use. If you are wanting high quality studio sound from tracking to mixdown, BUY THIS! You will not be disappointed!

Being an avid music production guy, video, media in general, I thought it was about time to trade up the computer speakers for something more real. I have a full stack recording rack, processors, equalizer rack, 40 track mixer, 25 track live/recording PA mixer, and various other stuff I've collected over the years. But was always running it through a basis line-in or USB device to my iMac. I didn't want to get anything crazy, like a full-line mixer to USB interface since I've have decent traditional mixers already. So I opted to get this, figured I'd take a chance on a combo speaker/interface, though I was very reluctant.
In the end, I won't go in boring details of the device, i'll just tell you as the common consumer what you need to know. It hooked up and was recognized immediately with my Apple iMac Quad 27". Used Garageband to test, it was automatically recognized with garageband, I plugged in a guitar directly and started recording right away. Plugged in a condenser mic, and that worked out great as well. I routed my mixer from analog to 1/4" line, to the left input on the samson, and then had a live-mic on the right input, set multi-track recording on in garageband, and boom, everything recorded great with good separation and sound. The quality of playback through my Beats headphones was perfect, and the quality of tones and balance of treb/bass was great through the speakers.
In the end, could you go with the $1000 monitor/interface set up, of course you could and it would some awesome. But if you're just a home-music-maker, and mostly do stuff for yourself or with friends, or podcasting, or music-casting, then this bundle is great. Oh, and almost forgot, the condenser mic it comes with was pretty awesome surprisingly, even when compared to my Blue Yeti or Seinheisers.

This equipment is great for someone wanting to do some recording without an expensive studio. You can create your own CD's for demos or even for sale. For the starving musician it's perfect.

One of the speakers has a slight mark on it. I wasn't so stark, but it shouldn't be there. Also, the instrument interface on the the same speaker was a little dusty compared to the other speaker. I even thought about exchanging the whole thing at the local Best Buy for the mark, but it seemed like too much of a hassle to do that, since I don't have a car.

Can't recommend if you own a MAC

I was very excited about this product. I actually ended up keeping it, so I don't hate it, but I wish I had gone a different route.
The biggest dissapointment was that cakewalk will not work with the MAC opperating system. It will not work unless you have Windows running parallel. If you already do that, then I don't think you will have issues. I personally do not want to do that. I should have researched more to know that Cakewalk wouldn't work with my MAC, but it said MAC compatable.
Now to say it isn't MAC compattable would be lying. The interface works no problems. I was able to record onto garageband with little effort on my MAC, but if you are getting the package for the recording software you may want to think twice.
The biggest dissapoint has to be the lack of a MIDI input. If you don't know what this means then it might not be a big deal, but it is a big deal for me beacuse I would like to connect my POD xtlive to my computer and run it through my speakers. It seems very strange that they left this off.
I am generally pleased with the microphone, and the speakers aren't bad. For the money I wish I had gone with a better interface/software bundle, and purchased speakers seperately.
