This is my first front loader. I love that I can add in the soap and fabric softener and just walk away. It sings a little song when its time to move to the dryer.

The knobs turns well and menus are easy to follow. The washer is very quiet. All you hear is the water 'whooshing.' It cleans my loads very well. However, my biggest complaint is that it leaves my clothes with bad odor which causes me to send the load a second time, counter intuitive and waisting energy and water. I've followed Samsung's maintenance instructions and read other owner's suggestions (running an empty load with bleach) to no avail. Apparently, it's the material that Samsung uses that is causing the foul odor. I've had a Maytag for 10years, never had this issue. I'll be stuck with this machine unfortunately. I would not recommend this washer.

The steam feature is really great for sanitizing soft toys or cushions. This is really quiet and we sometimes forget that its washing :-)

While it doesn't have a "hand-wash" setting like my old washer, I have used the delicates setting on my "hand-wash only" clothes (at my own risk, I know) and it has worked fine - everything has come out the same way they did in my washer with the "hand-wash" setting.
