    Stay Away From ALL Samsung TVs

    The Tizen user interface for this Samsung TV is horrendous. It's a nightmare. My last TV was a 2016 Samsung 4K TV -- and it was pleasant to use everyday in every way. I told everyone I could that Samsung makes the best TV. This 2025 model has obliterated that opinion. Every single day I suffer through layers and layers of garbage and an endless barrage of ads. Making a simple change -- like to the brightness level -- requires so much time and energy because it's 1) sooo slow and 2) ridiculously not user friendly. I bought this TV because all the reviews are good. But look closely -- ALL THE REVIEWS WERE "INCENTIVIZED". 2016 Samsung 4k TV: Awesome experience 2025 Samsung 4K TV: Nightmare experience

    Love it. Easy to set up and add my channels. Color and clarity are perfect. Samsung is a winner with TV’s every time.

    Let down by software and persistent ads

    The tv has decent picture and sound, but the software and UX are pretty bad. The processing speed is incredibly slow. Pulling up settings or loading and switching between apps takes real patience. The home screen is covered in ads, suggested content, and bizarre recommended viewing that cannot be turned off. Only plan to use with an external device like an Apple TV.

      Hi Jeff,

      Thank you for your feedback. Please ensure your U8000 TV is running the latest firmware update 1132.0. To do so, go to Settings> Support> Software Update. If that version is not available you can download the update on a USB drive and manually update your TV:

      1. On Samsung's website (upper right corner), go to: Support > Manual & Software > Find your TV model, and click on the Firmware – Upgrade File.
      2. When the file has finished downloading, locate it and then unzip it. There is normally one folder inside but there may be multiple files.
      3. Copy or move all of the files that were included in the zip file to a USB flash drive, but do not place them inside any other folders. If you place the software folders inside a folder on the USB flash drive, the TV or monitor will not find them.
      4. Connect the USB drive containing the software upgrade into a USB port on your device.
      5. Using your device's remote, navigate to and select Settings, then select All Settings, and then select Support. Select Software Update, select Update Now, and then select Yes if prompted.

      Your device will search the USB drive for update files. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated software. Updates usually take a few minutes; please do not turn off the TV until the update is complete. When the update is finished, it will restart automatically.

    For the money, a decent TV and I prefer the Samsung interface over VZO. Only donwside, no numers on the rote to manually type in a channel/I really hate that

    I bought this exact same tv for my daughter's room about 3-4 years ago. She doesn't live here and even with company it's probably been used maybe 3Xyr. The week of Christmas is just died and they're irreparable! I really didn't want to get the same one as I think that was a short life with little usage but it was the best deal and in stock. I certainly hope this one lasts longer
