Mechanically, the Samsung Television and Sound Bar I purchased are fine. Good sound and good value for the money.
I was, however, extremely disappointed with my sales associate. While courteous and friendly, the associate helping me assured me that the television and sound bar would "work together" and that once connected, I could use a single remote to increase the volume of both the television and sound bar. This was incorrect. After purchasing the product and returning home (some 75 miles away) I discovered that to do what I was assured I could I would have had to purchase the Smart TV.
I desired the VIZIO 42" Smart TV. It was sold out. Because this television was to be used in a bedroom and would have a PS3 connected, I opted for the 46" Samsung. Had I known that this television would not do what I wished, I would not have bought it.
This Samsung Television has a good picture and size for the price paid and the sound bar gives a great sound experience, but the fact that these two pieces will not work together in any way other than as an external speaker attachment has left me annoyed and disappointed.

I had Best Buy Geeks set up the TV with the wall mount and connect to cable. They took great care and detail and were patient with me as I watched and asked questions. Much easier than working with a husband who can get a little cranky!
P.S. I LOVE Samsung TVs for their great picture and ease of use.

I use this tv in my bedroom and added Apple TV to get "smart" features. The picture is good to very good, sound is good for listening to shows but does not hit the lows when listening to music stations or songs on your iDevice. I have not tried gaming on it. Inputs allow choosing from predefined label names and customization allows remote to skip unused inputs, but you can't enter custom labels (and the predefined aren't friendly simple names). The price was great for a good looking TV, but if you want this to be your primary entertainment hub you probably want to supplement with sound system and smart features.

Easy Install

Surprisingly easy installation and simple to add other components. I don't purchase new electronic components on a whim. My old television was a lost cause and I dreaded the purchase of a new one and then the connection of the other components to it. Wow, what a surprise when all AI had to do was plug and play.
The picture quality and sound are unbelievable. I now wish I had made the purchase long before I did.
I also need to give a big thank you to the Best Buy associate who assisted me with my purchase. She was very helpful during the process. I can be a little stubborn when making comparisons and decisions on larger purchases. But, she was nothing less than fantastic to work with. Thank you Best Buy and Samsung.

Let's just say I am so in love with my tv. It's a great brand, it's great from the minute you turn it on. I have had no issues with this tv or the brand. I have had a great viewing experience, great detail. The only thing I can say negatively about this product is - That if you lose the remote, you are in some serious trouble. There are no buttons on this tv, and I'm use to a tv I had bought a few years ago - when buttons on the tv made sense. So advice - don't ever lose the remote. If you do, buy a unerviersal one!

We have a smaller television from another brand and swapped it out for this one and demoted the smaller one to Wii u usage. The less well-known brand worked fine if you didn't use the cable box or switch to the Amazon Fire (and even then, it WORKED, but maybe the picture wouldn't come up for a few moments). This television seamlessly moves from one HDMI item to another. In addition, the size doesn't take up that much more space on our wide dresser, but it sometimes feels like the actors are in the room with us, which is kind of cool. Upshot is, we didn't pay much more for this well-known brand at this very large (at least, to us, as all other televisions in our house are 36 inches) size, but it's already much better out-of-the box. It was a heavy discount with a sale, but this television was an excellent value, and would still be a good value at full-price.

I am quite pleased with this offering from Samsung. Good picture, ease of use, quick set-up and a host of good features. At this price point it can't be beat. Samsung has some of the best TVs on the market and this one hits the target yet again.

After shopping around for a tv we came upon this gem on sale for $399.99. We jumped on it since we have only heard good things about Samsung. After setting up the tv with our cable box we noticed it looked blurry. For those of you out there with non HD cable boxes the picture will look bad. We upgraded to HD services and the screen is a beauty to behold! I play constantly on my range of gaming systems and there is no input lag. Movies look amazing and the screen is very bright with colors. After having it for a little bit over a month we haven't had any problems with it and are very happy with our purchase. I highly recommend this as an upgrade for those tv shopping.

We decided to purchase a Samsung 5000 series 46" TV after our 20 year Toshiba crashed. We were going to purchase a Sambung 8000 series 60" curve but decided to purchase a smaller, less expensive TV, which we will later transfer to our upstairs then buy a curve. The 5000 series Samsung has a good picture for the price.

This was on sale for $400 and I had a $25 reward certificate, so for $375, I got 46 inches of viewing pleasure. One of the selling points for me was that this tv is just a tv, no smart tv or extra bells and whistles. I wanted something that was simple. I find too many times that some of these tvs have so many add ons that they should also make coffee for you in the morning. If one of the systems fail on all-in-one tvs, the entire tv may well be unusable. Over the years I have found that Samsung definitely knows how to make tvs....

Most of the newer TV's were "Smart TVs". My parents had no need for this feature, and were able to go with a larger size TV for the same cost as the smaller smart TV. It had multiple HDMI inputs and was easy to set up.

Glad smaller TV sizes are still being made. 46" screen is perfect for space available in the apartment. Great picture and easy to customize using remote. I am a big fan of the Samsung TV because of the picture quality.

This TV is fantastic. I generally stick to 3 brands for TV purchases: Samsung, LG and Sony. In the past few years, Samsung and LG have surpassed Sony in a lot of ways - plus Sony prices their TV's way too high without providing advantages over similar units. I watch a lot of sports and action movies, so I was concerned about the 60Hz processor not being able to perform. Whatever the "Clear Motion 120" feature is doing, it's working, because side-by-side this TV is just as crisp as any of the 120Hz models. The guy at the store told me because it's dual-core 60's, you kind of get the benefits of a 120Hz... whether that's the truth or not, it looks good to me and that's what matters!
I listed the lack of apps as a downside but I want to be clear: I did not need the "smart tv" apps for this TV because I already have Apple TV, XBOX, Wii U and a few other devices that run all the TV-based apps I need. I found that, for this price range, you can either get a little bit larger screen or get a smaller screen with apps. That was an easy choice for me. My advice: if you want to drop an extra hundred bucks for TV-based apps, get the bigger TV and then go a few aisles over and pick up an Apple TV or a Roku.

I bought this on promotion (couldn't resist the price reduction) to replace my 32 inch Panasonic 760p TV. Assembling the stand & initial setup are simple; I have no issue following the instruction pamphlet. I use this TV mostly for 1080 live-stream movies (via my laptop with HDMI cable) & regular cable TV channels. Great picture quality (with minor brightness adjustments). Sound quality is good. I like the thin bezel of the screen edges that gives it a really sophisticated look. I have used it daily (7 hrs daily on average) for one month now & I am happy with this TV.

Originally bought a 40' Sony...decided I couldn't do without a Samsung. Couldn't be happier to have returned the 40 for this TV. Better sound quality and a little larger for a small price difference.
