I have been shopping around for a TV for quite a while, almost a year in fact, and finally decided on this one after quite a heavy debate and comparison. The first thing about this TV you will notice when you look at it is the colors are quite impressive, much more so than the typical 1080P sets and on par with 4K sets that cost almost double or more, when I purchased this on sale. The one thing that I have to say is that while this TV looks fantastic, it looks even better when you calibrate it, I spent a good 30-40 minutes changing the settings to make it look just right and the difference is amazing, if you are going to buy this set, PLEASE take the time to research and calibrate the TV, there are some great articles online that make it simple, you will not regret it. while there are quite a few Pros, there are a couple of Cons. The first being the refresh rate, which is 60Hz, the 'motion rate 120' is a fancy way of saying it's native 60Hz, Upscaled to 120Hz. It does give the 'soap opera effect' but honestly just turn it off and it looks fine without it, I would prefer at least a 120Hz even a 240Hz, but not on a set that looks this great at this price, it's a pretty good compromise. The second is that the viewing angle is not the best, in my situation it doesn't bother me because I sit dead middle about 9 Ft away, but if you literally move 2 Ft to the right or left, there is a noticeable drop in color quality, not saying that it makes it look 'bad', but it definitely has a more average looking color quality. Now after listing the major issues I found with the TV, it sounds like I am knocking it with the typical 'TV problems' that everyone has, which is partially true, but for the price I got it for, a couple hundred less than a thousand, it was an INCREDIBLE deal. You will not find another TV with this color reproduction and clarity for this price, I whole heartedly recommend this TV to anyone looking to keep their spending down and get the best TV you can for the money.

The picture quality of this TV is fantastic. Also, I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sound too. I didn't buy a soundbar, even though the salesperson recommended one, and so far the built in speakers have been great! I may go back and get a sound system later on, so I can have surround sound, but the built in speakers are definitely sufficient as is for now. I've always had good luck with Samsung TVs and this one is no exception. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.

I had initially bought a Vizio M50-C1 4K UHD set from Costco, and found the picture to be good when sitting directly in front of it, but as you positioned yourself off center, the colors started to wash out quite a bit. I paid just under $700 for the Vizio, and less than a week later saw this Samsung on sale at Best Buy for $799. I decided to give it a try and ordered online with free delivery. The set came within two days, and I put it up in the same location that I had the Vizio mounted. The difference was quite dramatic. The Samsung was better by a small margin when viewing straight on, but was much better when moving off center. Colors remain quite good, even at fairly extreme angles. The one thing you should be aware of, is that the Samsung has VESA 400 x 400 mounting. My previous two sets that I had wall mounted were VESA 200 x 200, so I had to fabricate an adapter to use the existing wall mount. I would definitely recommend this set, especially when the price is $799. I won't even consider Sony anymore after having two sets fail pretty prematurely. I passed on an older Samsung LCD TV to my son, after having it for quite some time, and it's still going strong. Same for my daughter's Samsung 32 inch flat panel.

This Samsung 50JS7000 is great TV for the price of 799.99. While this may not blow you away, it gets the job done. I have been using this TV for a week with Verizon FIOS, Xbox one and satisfied with it. Picture quality is really good. For the price 799.9, it seems to be better than LG UF7600 series in my opinion. I have used LG for two weeks and never got the picture quality to my liking and returned it for this one. I am satisfied with picture quality, smart features and overall aesthetics. Please don't expect this to blow you away like the bigger brother JS8500/JS9000 TV, but on the other hand this is much better than the other mid-tier models. Give this a look and judge for yourself. I did and love it so far. Warranty and brand reliability also was a factor in choosing this TV as this one has in home warranty and being Samsung, you are guaranteed to get hold of support in case of issues.

Given this is a previous-year's model, I'm not sure how useful a review will be. I decided to upgrade to a 4K TV and was already set on Samsung, having been burned by Sony in the past (there was a class-action lawsuit about it). This one seemed to be a good choice. The picture is very nice, which is the main thing. However, other failings make it rather annoying to use on a daily basis. For one, there's no power button on the TV itself. You HAVE to use the remote. Also, I find that the sensitivity of the IR remote fair. You have to be within a narrow angle for the TV for them to connect. If I'm standing and turning the TV on or off, I often have to lean over for it to respond, and hit the button two or three times. (It's THOSE times I wish there was a button on the TV.) The picture-in-picture feature is handy at times, but it requires going a few menus deep in settings to turn it on/off — one button on the remote would be nice. I don't have much need for the SmartTV features -- as I have an Apple TV, and that's easier to use — but I set up a bunch of apps, such as Amazon Prime video, which I was glad to have access to. When switching video inputs, often the input menu remains on the screen, so I have to hit the Smart TV button on the remote twice to clear it. And, finally, about 6 weeks after purchase, the TV stopped showing broadcast channels over the antenna, offering just a black screen and no sound. I had to factory-reset the TV to bring them back (which meant all the Smart TV features were erased). I DO like how the remote's mute button is between the channel and volume toggles (no more hitting Power instead of Mute on my old TV).

The Samsung UHDTV(7000 series) was easy to set up and get working. The features proved easy to use and performed as expected. The picture was very good and with some experimentation I was able to resolve all issues with color and clarity. One area that I have been disappointed with in purchasing a Samsung TV is the inability to understand exactly what features are available on each model. Many of the details are only understood after you step through the set-up process only to be greeted by a "Not Available" for this particular item. This resulted in the return of models before settling on the one purchased at Best Buy.

My wife and I decided it was time to upgrade the TV in our living room with a larger model. The plan was to get a 50" LCD TV and move the current 37" Mitsubishi 1080p TV to the bedroom. I did some research online and after reading various reviews we purchased a Vizio 50" M Series TV. I spent a week with the Vizio and we were not happy with various aspects of the Vizio. So my second choice was this Samsung SUHD 50" 4K TV. You can read my review of the Vizio under that TV. I have never been a fan of Samsung TVs in the past so this is my first purchase for this brand. I have to say, I am impressed with this TV so far as it has a much better picture and outperforms the Vizio. I used the calibration settings from Rtings as my starting point and I have tweaked them a bit from there. Out of the box this set looks very good, especially in the Movie Mode. The calibrated settings make it look that much better and gives it a more natural appearance. We use this TV in our living room as our main viewing set. We mostly watch DirecTV, Netflix, Amazon, and Youtube on this TV and sometimes the occasional DVD or Blu Ray, but most of our movie viewing is done in our theater room. The VA panel in this set has a pretty good viewing angle and color does not wash out as quickly as it does in other TVs (ie the Vizio). The black levels on the Samsung are not impressive but it is acceptable and the TV performs well in most other areas. The colors are easy to dial in and most content looks really good, especially 4K video. I streamed 4K content from Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube and it really is stunning! There are a lot of controls for this TV so you can really dial things in. Most of the gimmick features like the motion controls I leave off - I don't care for the soap opera effect. The Tizen operating system for the SmatHub performs pretty well. It was a bit flaky at first, but Samsung has pushed out a few updates that seems to have taken care of it. The only issue that I have encountered is the occasional audio drop out on DirecTV. I never experienced this with the previous TV, so I think it has to do with the processing on the Samsung. I have the TV feeding a Vizio Sound Bar with a Toslink optical cable and I set the TV set to decode Dolby Digital sound and send it to the sound bar. In the end, I love watching various content on this TV. It is a great performer. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid 4K TV that won't break the bank.

So, the tv is pretty great, I'm not as blown away as expected but it does do some neat things, it really is a super smart tv, it knows which input I want to use, it connects seamlessly to my router, but it turned itself off a handful of times, hasn't happened in a while though so I ignored it. The sound quality is good but I really want a wireless speaker since we can sit so far away from the tv. I can't see the picture during dark scenes in the daytime with the sun beaming through the window. But overall I'm happy with the product. My beef is with Best Buy, there was no remote in my geek squad garunteed open box, but the refused to replace it, they said they'd give me ten percent off the purchase of some other remote or I could just return the tv for a full refund. Bestbuy used to be the best around. Over the years they've gotten worse and worse and I'm not a big fan of them lately.

Upgraded from an older 41" flat screen to this, and I love it. Picture quality is great, especially after tweaking the picture stats a bit from the default. I've had no issues with the os for the smart hub either. I use mostly streaming apps to watch tv and movies, so it's nice not having to turn on the Xbox unless I'm playing games. Easily connected to the Samsung sound bar I got with my x-mas gift cards. One small issue I've found is the glare from the lights in my living room. It can be noticible if the light is reflected on the tv. I usually turn the light off, but it can be annoying. Sound quality was surprisingly good. I can't say I expected much, but was still pleased. It can sound a bit distorted when it's loud (and it can get really loud), and definitely is nowhere near as good as the sound bar with the subwoofer when watching movies, but more than fine for everyday shows. I haven't noticed a huge difference with the 4K video. I watched some on Amazon Prime. While nice, not that much different than a good 1080p set could give, but still much better than my old set that was nearly 10 years old. Easy set up out of the box. Took me maybe 10 minutes from getting it out of the box and on the stand, and that's including taking the dinosaur out to my sisters car. Connecting to my wifi was also simple, and I've had no connection issues with it, although the modem is in the tv stand. Plenty of hookups behind the tv to connect to everything. I have the sound bar connected by the optical cable, but they also connect wirelessly, so that's not really an issue. I only need one of the HDMI hookups for my xbox, but if I were to upgrade to cable it's nice to have multiple options available. Overall a great tv. I got it on sale right before Black Friday (same sale price as its Black Friday deal, and without the crowds), so I got it for a great price. Definitely would recommend for someone looking to upgrade, especially if you want to delve into the 4K picture. That will come in handy as more content is released. The picture attached is to show the glare. That bright blob is my lamp, not the sun in the video. Sadly my iPad can't quite capture the picture quality of the 4K video.

I bought this TV right before the 2016 Superbowl...fantastic deal, great customer service, just an overall wonderful experience. The TV has performed well, and is a joy to use. I've had it now for...let's see, about a year and a half. I don't do product reviews on ANYTHING, anywhere, until I've had it for a long enough time (usually at least 6 months); anything sooner is disingenuous, in my opinion. Gotta really see how it performs over the long haul... So in this case, know that this Samsung TV lives up to the hype -- all the reviews I read before purchasing it said it had superior color, clarity, and ease of use. And yes -- the menus are easy to navigate too, that's the 'ease of use' part. When you're dealing with a digital, modern-day product...well, you know these aren't the TVs of our parents' and grandparents' generation. Not boxy, has a 'brain'....et cetera. I use it with Amazon Fire TV -- I have Amazon Prime, so that means I get to use my Prime membership to watch AAAALLLLL the movies and shows I want. No live TV in the traditional network sense with Amazon Fire TV; you can get 'apps' -- just like with the Apple store, they're apps...you download them to you Amazon Fire account, and then use those apps to watch shows and whatnot. The cool thing? I do watch live TV, on this Samsung TV...via an app named 'Pluto'...it's a modern-day channel. It's mindblowing; it's a network with channels inside it. Live news (like Sky TV, RT, or MSNBC...though I'm not a big fan of MSNBC, haha)...all available. Even comedy shows are nestled in what I can only describe as, uh...'sub-channels' within the Pluto TV app. And old time films, from the 1950s through the 1980s. Point is...I CAN watch live TV on this Samsung TV and it's phenomenal. If you are a cord-cutter like I am, this is a big point. This is truly an amazing TV to use, whether you are using it like I do as a cord-cutter, or using it with Comcast/other digital cable service. It's worth every penny. Wait for a sale though -- Superbowl sales or Black Friday seem to be where it's at to get the best price. And Best Buy is the best place to buy it from, hands down -- their customer service and insurance plans for high-end products like this are second to none.
