Decided to get my first 4k tv and I couldn't have chosen better. The quality is amazing. The colors are astonishing. I would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking about getting one. Also, the sound quality is really good for just being from the tv

This was a replacement unit I bought on the rebound from a disappointing 4K LG 60" 6090.
The picture is best in class, with little-to-no lag. In game mode there is no perceivable lag at all.
The colors are vivid and the HDR makes a huge difference.
As for curved vs flat, the curved screen catches more ambient light glare than the flat panel model does. I just think curved TV is cool.
But when folks say that the KS8000 series is the only real choice when it comes to overall performance and value for money, they are dead-on.

This is a awesome upgrade in TV's for me. The picture is great, I like the curved screen.I will say good job Samsung, but you will definitely need the sound bar. Just not enough space for the TV to have good speaker system. Setup was easy. More than anything else the new style remote control takes some getting used to. The 4K content is becoming more available now also. Big difference from the 42in 1080P i used to have.

Mind you, I still have, and enjoy this TV. Some of the functionality is amazing. The problems come in, when you connect it via wifi, and once TV software gets updated.
I'll start with the positives. I love the clarity on this TV. My wife often comments, "the picture is almost to real".
Being a tech guy, I love how much is built into the TV. The ability to easily cast, from our smart devices, is great (I was able to remove my chromecast). The casting starts almost instantaneously.
I also love how it automatically changes inputs, when switching devices. In fact, if I turn on my PS4, and the TV is off, the TV will register the PS4, and turn on the TV too (though this could be bad if you're remote playing).
You can control the TV, using the smart view app. It allows you to change stations, inputs, and type text in, rather easily.
If you have a newer Samsung device, you can even stream your TV, to your phone. So, if you're watching a show, and you need to go to the bathroom, but don't want to miss a moment of your show, you can watch it on your phone, while leaving the TV undisturbed (with no noticeable latency).
All those positives are why I gave it 4 stars. Unfortunately, after owning it a month, I've had some issues.
First, the wifi. If you look online, you'll see many newer Samsung TVs having issues where the internet drops out. For some reason, while using the HBO Go app, my TV will randomly disconnect from the internet. It won't reconnect on its own. I have to go through the connection settings again, or reboot my router. That will solve it, for a while, but might do it again, 15-20 minutes later. It gets very frustrating. I've even tried other apps, like Stars, and it's even worse. Kind of prevents me from cutting the cable, if the only stable feed I can get, is my Comcast feed.
Second, no ability to reinstall apps. The Vudu app is currently broken. It happened after my TV recently updated itself. The Vudu people are waiting for Samsung to release a fix, but apparently, if the app is forced to reinstall, it will start working again. Unfortunately, there is no way to do this, unless you call Samsung, and they do it remotely. Some users have complained that it's difficult to get the Samsung rep to listen, and follow your request to reset the apps.
Third, and this is the most upsetting, once the TV updates, the menu will start displaying Ads, when you bring it up. The ad is small, and sits along side your apps, but I did not pay this much money, to have ads put onto my device. The worst part is you get no warning... they just decided to do it, with no option to disable it.
In the end, it's still an amazing TV, but I'm still torn on if I should have returned it, for the LG that I was considering. They are both very comparable, but my wife preferred the Samsung UI. I guess I'll find out with time. Hopefully Samsung figures out how to stabilize their wifi connectivity, so it's not so sensitive, and easy to drop out. NONE of my other connected devices do this, and my router sits under the floor, just below the TV. There's no excuse for it, other than bad code on Samsung's end.

This TV exceeded my expectations. The picture is gorgeous, it looks elegant on the TV stand with it’s curved screen. My only gripe is when I moved it was difficult to move this TV. I was always worried about it breaking. Other than that it was fantastic. Price was right. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful well designed TV. The colors and image display is exquisite. I am yet to full utilize its capabilities however for the regular use of connecting my families game console, cable box and Blue-ray player, it has definitely not disappointed in ease of use. A good replacement for anyone looking to invest in a new TV.

Crisp picture with vibrant colors. Easy hook up, love the smart remote. So many installed apps. Just connect to Internet (wired or wireless) and go. HDR is definitely the way to go. Read curved screen had viewing limitations if not viewing from the front. I have an open view from kitchen to living room and view is still great.

4K on this set is amazing. highly recommend. was looking for a new TV, walking towards the TV section to browse and this was set-up out in front of all the other TVs and i didn't have to take another step passed it. to make it all better, Best Buy approved my for a card for the full amount of this TV plus some so i backed my truck up.
love the edge to edge screen, and everyone that comes over compliments not only the picture, but the look of it.

I've been gaming on a 24" ASUS gaming monitor for years. This monitor has a 1 ms response time and I was blown away by the difference this made in multiplayer and even in single player games. This TV has a response rate between 19-23 ms.(from Rtings.com)
1080p @ 60Hz Show Help : 23.1 ms
1080p With Interpolation Show Help : 130.4 ms
1080p @ 60Hz Outside Game Mode Show Help : 123.2 ms
1080p @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 Show Help : 39.5 ms
4k @ 60Hz Show Help : 19.2 ms
4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 Show Help : 33.4 ms
4k @ 60Hz + HDR Show Help : 19.2 ms
4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 + HDR Show Help : 33.2 ms
I'm now back gaming on the big screen and love it! Anyone on the fence about gaming on this thing should not be worried. The HDR looks great in Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3. I couldn't tell a difference with NBA 2k17.
The Mad Max Fury Road 4k Bluray looks stunning in 4k HDR.
You will not be dissapointed.

Don't get a regular 4k TV, get a 4k tv with HDR for the best possible 4k picture quality. And this Samsung curved SUHD, so far after 2 months, is the bomb. Worth the money. Glad I bought it. The curved shape, honestly is better than regular flat TV's for viewing.

I was not in the market (well I had planned on waiting one more year to buy a 4k) for a TV, but stopped in to my local Best Buy on Black Friday. The TV was an open box, but the store member I know fairly well gave me the low down why it was returned. After the open box price and a special 40% off on all SUHD's, I couldn't pass on the Samsung. This is the third Samsung TV we own, plus two Samsung computer monitors. Samsungs always have worked for us, and worked well. I figured if I was going to make the jump to 4k, it was going to be with a Samsung. To date, the only UHD programming we have watched is streaming, but it is amazing. HDR looks impressive, especially on gaming on my One S. Would I have bought this TV at full price? No. But I do feel the value is there and definitely am happy with the TV.

I read a lot of reviews before going with this TV. I wanted to also be able to hook my computer up via HDMI 2.0 and use it as a gaming monitor.
I suggest using the calibrated settings suggested here
https://reviews.lcdtvbuyingguide.com/samsung-led-tv/samsung-un55ks8000.html
You can then tweak it a tiny bit here and there for personal taste.
lcdtvbuyngguide has calibrated settings for many TVs.
I know it says 8000 series but all 8000 series panels are the same but 8500 just means curved.
Just wanted to give people calibrated settings and say its a great TV.

After months of careful consideration, reading reviews and watching videos I finally pulled the trigger on this tv. Without a doubt I can say it's one of the best sets out there. The native 4k picture is great but it doesn't stop there, this tv upscales EVERYTHING to near 4k quality. I mainly bought it to take advantage of PS4 Pro and man they are the perfect combination. If you play Horizon, Battlefield 1, Uncharted etc, you haven't lived until you play em in 4k. The tv is a breeze to set up, it recognizes any devices you connect to HDMI and also names them for you. The OS is simple to navigate, it comes with plenty of apps with the ability to also download more. Treat yourself and pick this bad boy up before they disappear, the more expensive 2017 models are about to release.

Samsung - 55 Class - LED - Curved - 2160p - Smart - 4K tv has eye popping color and 4k content is amazing. There's a bit of calibration if you want the most out your picture. The curved screen was a non-issue for me until I got it home and set up. Originally I went in to get the the flat version of this unit but they had sold out. After some back and forth between my wife and I and the sales staff we agreed to get the curved version for a reduced price and man am I glad we did!
Very bright. Gorgeous up-scaling of DirecTV and Blurays. Just a all round homerun for the price. The only negative is since its edge lit from the top and bottom some led bleeding (flashlighting) are found in VERY black only situations like credts at a movie's end. Other than that I've never noticed it in any normal veiwing.
