Initially bought a Samsung with curved screen and although it was very nice I didnt really like the picture as much as the flat screen. This television has an excellent picture! The universal remote is cool, allows me to control all of my components with a single remote and the pointer is similar to a Wii remote making it quicker to select items on the screen...nice touch! Didnt like the separate box for connecting components up. I like hooking up directly to TV. Theres no mounting spot for the box, so it just hangs in the back of my stand making it a little messy. Overall great TV other than ext. box.

This has been the best purchase I have ever made! I own five TVs, and by far this TV is the absolute best. UHD content on this television is magnificent, not to mention 3-D movies.

Purchased this TV to be placed in a large family room mounted above a fireplace. The picture is outstanding viewing from any point in the room. The sound straight from the set is reasonably good but we connected it to a surround sound system which works great. The remote is a minimalist three button item that uses an on-screen keyboard/number pad. Small and saves space but cumbersome to use.

I always wanted a Samsung TV because I could see the difference between a Sony, Vizio which I already have. But getting this it is like " hitting the ball out of the park". :) I love is 4K and 3 D features. I also, like very much the remote control touchpad , although it can be enhance with a rear keypad (like the Vizio) I hadn't used the voice command options yet. You need to play with the RC in order to get use to it. The Wi- FI connection is great, also the apps you can use and add to your TV. I decided for a flat panel because it give you a wider eange to view unlike the curved. SUHD VS. UHD! Why pay more for a feature you can't use, at least for the moment.

My husband and I bought this tv for the LR so we could move our 55" to the guest room. The installation/setup was quick & easy and the picture is awesome. Only problem we had was the remote setup....had to reset it and then link it to the tv again.

I'm loving my experience so far with my new tv! I've had it about a month now with zero problems. I had the Geek Squad Wall mount it and they did a great job. The upscaling looks great for anything that's not 4k. There's new content everyday that is in 4k from Netflix, Amazon, & YouTube to name a few. I'm a big gamer and my Xbox One games look even better on my new Samsung! The one thing I haven't tried out yet is the 3d but I just bought Mad Max: Fury Road in 3d so I'm looking forward to that!

We purchased the TV as an open box with a guarantee that all was inspected and in excellent condition. We did not open the box for a week waiting for the proper TV stand to fit this unit on. When we opened the box on a blanket to make sure we were gentle we found a crack in the top Connor of the frame. We tried the tv out working fine and had so much packing that felt we would keep it but were still disappointed with the cracked section. Have sent notes to Best Buy and spoke to people at the store and have not heard back on the note we sent. We did send the note on 7/1/2015. have acknowledgement from them receiving this note.

I initially purchased the Samsung 7100 65" 4K TV at a great price. Picture was beautiful and had had no issues out of the box. Then the Samsung 8500 went on sale for the same price and I had to take advantage. I was within Best Buy's liberal return/ exchange policy time period and made teh exchange for the Sammy 8500 at 65". I am really glad i made teh move. This TV has an amazing picture that beats out the 7100 with deeper blacks, sharper image and asthetically beautiful low-profile design. With it's silver bezel, it looks stunning and futuristic sitting on my wall with the power off. I emjoy the smart features of this TV that load quickly and have opened a whole new world of online content. Make sure you check out the short 4K content on youtube to show off the capabilities of this set. Set up was easy. I recommend you go online to get calibration numbers from one of a variety of sources to show it's full potential. You might want to try a few sources to see what fits best with your setup and room the TV is displayed in. One of the main features of this TV that make it a great buy is the fact that it is HDR ready and will make a great match with the new 4K Blu Ray player by Samsung recently released. I'm really looking forward to what this TV can do in the future when content becomes more available. If there is such a thing, do yourself a favor and future-proof your investment by picking up this TV. Its capabilities with wide color gamut and super dark blacks. This TV has Motion Rate 240 that makes busy scenes and fast movement smooth. It was a marked difference from the 7100 that had some judder when the ESPN crawl moved on the screen. This TV is super smooth and has no problems displaying heavy action scenes like in Transformers when the city is under attack and debris is flying everywhere. Also worth mentioning is the TV's One Connect Mini box. At first, I thought it was gimmicky, but find that it's a good move making connection and disconnection of HDMI much easier. My TV is mounted pretty close to the wall. If I needed to unplug something, I would have to remove the TV from the wall, put it on the stnad and then make my connection and then get it back on the wall. This is much easier. I understnad this is where Samsung may make some updates to hel pthis TV keep up with changes by altering the box instead of the TV. The remote is easy to use once you get the hang of it. It's a bit small, but functional. I use a unviveral remote with mine and just use this remote for smart hub operation and changing sources, etc. All in all, this is a great TV for the price. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

I read a bunch of reviews before buying this TV. I am no tech genius, just wanted a good quality tv with the newest technology within my $2K price point. I think this TV definitely meets those standards. I bought it for my husband's birthday as a gift and was nervous I wouldn't get one he liked. He was looking for a TV that is great for sports watching with new the 4K option. I think this TV looks amazing while watching football. We look forward to having more movies and shows broadcasted in 4k. Right now our AT&T Uverse doesn't offer anything in 4k so unless we are watching a 4K movie we don't get the 4K benefits. Overall the clarity and viewing experience is amazing. We have enjoyed playing with some of the settings. I read some reviews that the side viewing was bad but we haven't had any issues and plan to mount it with a side to side tilting mount anyways. I love the remote it comes with. Our smaller LG has a pointer style remote that we like using and this Samsung pointer is even better. The smart hub is great and we have already been watching Netflix.

First, the picture quality is amazing, especially if you select a 4k source like a Netflix 4k video. Up-scaling, which is probably the most important feature in a 4k right now, is excellent for HD (1080) sources, which will likely be your primary content source. When viewing any 4k tv in the store, you will want to see a sample of up-scaling. The demo material is usually in 4k for best picture, so ask to see something in a lower resolution, like 1080. (I was able to stream a 1080 trailer in the store to see the up-scaling for myself.) SmartTv features and settings - The navigation is straight forward and I have not had any problems finding what I need. It comes loaded with streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Youtube, etc. My experience using them through the tv was comperable to the PS3 apps. (You can download more apps from Samsung, but I haven't yet.) The only issue I have had has been with the remote pointer feature. You can use the remote to point at the screen and move your cursor with gestures instead of the buttons. I have found that if you use this for several minutes straight, the cursor can start getting out of sync. (example: you point at the center of the screen and the cursor is far right) This will correct itself with the next use, but is annoying when it happens. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. I think this UHD tv hits the sweet spot for performance/features vs price. (The SUHD tvs looked slightly better side by side in the showroom, but were twice the cost for a comparable size)

So far, this has been a great purchase -- little pricey at $2500, but for 65" and 4K, it's expected - picture quality is superb - was going back and forth between this model, and its curved counterpart, but ultimately decided on this one since I was told curved causes distortion for viewers watching from angles - minimal picture fine tuning was needed out of the box (I googled optimal picture settings for my model, and found settings based on others who went through the picture calibration) -- audio on the TV could be better, but we purchased the Samsung HW-J650ZA soundbar at the same time - remote is great

Wasn't very familiar with the whole smart tv thing. My sales representative explained a little to me but only show much i was able to soak in. Once i got the tv delivered and installed it was on from there! Downloaded the Netflix, Facebook and Playstation apps. The PS app was simple to use just with a ps3 controller. I also love the smart remote that Samsung provides with the TV. Great sharp, clear and vibrant smooth picture in action scenes and sports. 1000% recommend to a friend

The TV has a great picture. I moved from a 11 year hold HDTV to this 4K unit. The old TV had too much glare from various light sources. While you can't kill all glare this TV hides a good portion of it. I tweaked the color settings a bit to get truer color, initial settings had things way to bright with over saturated colors. I have a couple of minor complaints. First internet connection right after you turn on the TV is a bit slow. If you want to watch streaming content you need to could to 8 before you select that app as otherwise it will tell you that you need to trouble shoot the internet. Even if you wait a little bit it may start the app then it will stop. Come on Samsung, you put in the delay / wait for internet to come up with a small message on screen instead of making me do it. I have used both wireless and wired with same results. Second small issue is the joke of a remote. It is tiny and has almost no buttons. You have to press a menu button to see the other buttons that should be one the remote such as the red, green, blue buttons etc. that come into play when dealing with your streaming video apps. Luckily my phone has an app for a remote so I can get to those but it lacks tactile feedback. The TV has been stellar when it comes to picture quality. The sound, not so much. My old TV had much better sound. I did go back to Best Buy and purchased a sound bar with subwoofer which brings the sound back in line to what I had. Highly recommend you do this as well. TV does not always resync to sound bar. I did a full reset by unplugging both and letting it sit for a few minutes, improved them talking to each other but still happens every so often. Keep in mind you must use HDMI between TV and sound bar for the TV to automatically turn sound bar on / off as you turn on / off TV. The one cable out of TV into the smart box is very nice. I don't ever have to get behind the TV to plugin in a USB key, other HDMI device, etc. as that all comes into a box I have setting on the stand below the TV. I have not used the 3D side of things. It does not come with glasses.

Great TV at a good price. The picture is the best that I've ever seen... blacks are very true and deep, 3D is perfect, and the smart TV features (internet browsing, apps) have been flawless. I had read some reviews that people had issues with setup and the command module, but this wasn't the case for us. In fact I bought 3 of these TVs and gave 2 away as Christmas gifts to our children. Everybody loves them.

I am a huge Samsung supporter and this TV did not disappoint. Was not looking to purchase but could not pass up this open box deal. Upgraded my 7 yr old 52" Samsung to this 65" UHD. Just like my previous Samsung the picture is phenomenal. Coupled with the SMART features this is a stand alone entertainment center. The remote can be utilized as universal for your set-top boxes and surround systems. However, you have to cycle through using the TVs menu to select the device you would like to turn on. It would be nice if they would all come on while clicking the power button on the remote. I believe it will if you have anynet devices. I do not so it will not power on my soundbar and cable box. I must do it sepreately...no big deal. The integrated smart features are really cool as well as the extra feature which allows you to pull up info on most programs you are watching. Bottom line is this Samsung TV did not disappoint. I got mine as an open box for $1400....not a bad deal!

Finally Got My 7 Series Samsung

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have a 20' by 20' living room and this tv replaced a Sharp 8 series 60 inch. I've never really thought that 60in was big enough for my room #16.5 ft distance from eyeball to screen#, but when I bought it about 4 years ago the price jump to a 65 or 70 was almost double. So I just made it work. When I started researching tvs, I quickly learned that Samsung only makes 65 and 75 inch tvs, but no 70 inch. I originally went to best buy to look at and buy a 70" Vizio, but after talking to Sheldon extensively at the Turner Hill Best Buy, he told me that based on talking to me about tvs that he did not honestly think that id be happy with a Vizio. I knew deep down that he was right. So I began looking at Samsung and Lg tvs. I ultimately decided on this tv because I wanted 120hz refresh rate, and a Samsung panel #not outsourced panel from Taiwan#. Most if not all 6 Series Samsungs have 60hz panels, and many are outsourced from third party vendors #do a search on "panel lottery" flat screen tvs for more info#. But don't get me wrong, a 6 series would be perfectly fine for most people, it's just that I like to have the best. This tv is everything that I wanted for my living room. It has a great, clear picture and a ton of apps that I will be able to utilize when there isn't anything good on regular tv. I wall mounted it so I can't say much about the stand, and the remote is not used much either because I use a Logitech universal. The blu ray picture is outstanding.
