Open box fail

I'm sure that this tv is great if you buy it new not "open box". Not only did we have the worst costumer services but now we are stuck with a bad tv. The tv in general is beautiful but the minor problems makes this purchase a fail.

Fantastic Gaming TV (PC & Console Gaming)

Recently bought this TV and have been playing with it for a weekend now.
If anyone is on the fence about this TV for PC gaming or console gaming, I can't recommend this TV enough for either need. Picture looks great in both game mode and PC mode.
You can use either mode for console or PC gaming, but I recommend using Game Mode for both PC and console games so you can take advantage of the improved input lag feature and richer colors supported.
Sound quality is also great enough to the point where you don't even really need a sound bar, but it's optional if you want that woofer blast hitting your skin for explosive effect. Sorround sound would probably be better between the two.
I bought the 65'' version and have it wall-mounted. I recommend getting a wall mount since the legs of the TV don't seem safe to me for a TV of my size with the tables I have setup in my room. Unless you have a 70' or above table laying around, and tall enough to protect the TV from falling, I would recommend a wall mount.
If your TV is a smaller version, I think you'll be fine, but I still prefer the wall mount option overall, personally.
I can't really think of any negatives. If I had to point out one though, it would be that every time I turn the TV on again when I boot up my PC it auto turns the input into PC mode, even though I always set it to Game Console mode, which takes advantage of the improved input lag and offers a huge color boosting ENB effect to everything, which basically makes everything in-game more colorful and vibrant. PC mode doesn't go that far, but still looks awesome.
Aside from that, I think this is the best gaming TV on the market currently, as of 2016. The newer model, the KS9000, doesn't offer enough improvements over this version to warrant the extra price cost, so I still recommend and consider the KS8000 to be the best in the world currently.

Add me to the growing list of victims of the Samsung KS8000. 65" model purchased November 28, 2016. Early yesterday evening the on-off cycle started for me and I've tried all of the debugging/fixing steps mentioned in the "Re: KS8000 Won't Turn On" thread on the Samsung forums. It looks like I have the dreaded $1500 paperweight as well as the many others suffering this same problem and I'm now another loyal Samsung customer who will never be buying or recommending another Samsung product ever again :(

Unit turns on and off several times while it seems to warm up, which it clearly doesn't have to do. We replaced it once for the same reason but the replacement has the same problem.

I have been dealing with Samsung support for 3 weeks now due to multiple issues with my unit. Reliability at this point has been TERRIBLE. Samsung support will do nothing and will not replace the unit.
My unit has already had the LCD panel replaced due to a factory defect. I am currently dealing with severe issues necessitating me to pull the plug from the wall constantly to reset the TV.
DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG TV!!!
Did I mention the TV is less than 2 months old as of today. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

We purchased this TV from Best Buy in November 2016. By December 2018 it developed a thin horizontal line in the picture spanning the entire screen. Now, there are 3 lines (2 on top, one near bottom) and the top 1/4 of the screen is now much darker than the rest of the screen. This was our first Samsung and possibly our last. We have a Sony that's 10+ years old and still has no issues. After paying $1600 for a TV, it should last more than 2 years.

3 1/2 years later, it has a row of dead pixels. Clarity doesn't compete with other brands. Smart apps lack updates.

Incredible Picture Quality

I did a lot of research online before I bought this TV. I had previously purchased a Sony 4K tv of the same size (850D) but was disappointed in the brightness limit watching HDR (4k) content. This TV has surpassed my expectations. Normal HD content looks great and when I watch 4k, the HDR just blows me away! It even has an HDR+ setting that tries to upscale 1080p to 4k-like quality that is very impressive. Motion interpolation is smooth as butter and the colors really pop. We have this in a big living room with overhead lights but the reflections are never a problem like they were on the Sony. The viewing angle is better than the professional reviews I've read online. I like the separate box that all the HDMI devices plug into then the box just plugs into the back of the tv. It really lets you "clean up" all the wires. The 65" has two different configurations for the stand if you aren't going to do a wall mount. Personally I found the widest option provided slightly better stability compared to moving them more inward.
This is without a doubt the nicest TV that I've ever owned and I paid about the same price for it as I did for my first 37" Samsung LCD 10 years ago! As always the staff at Best Buy was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

For starters the TV is fabulous: excellent color (connected to an XBOX One S) in my brightly lit room during day, and deeply dark room at night. Motion clarity is crisp and responsive (the main reason I bought this model over 120hz variants). HDR is incredible with the right content being fed to it (Netflix, One S UHD Drive, etc.). Excellent 4k upscaling for 1080 and less signals (most cable content). I have no issues with this set. My only complaint was that the 1st one I bought did not get past the Welcome screen. After mounting, calling support (Samsung and Best Buy), driving back to Best Buy to test my remote (not the problem), it was discovered that the hardware/software on the panel was defective. Sooooo, after unmounting, repackaging, taking back to Best Buy, and exchanging for a replacement, all is well. I will not fault the TV or give a bad rating for this, since, once a working one was tested it was absolutely perfect. I cannot attest to the sound since I use a 5.1 external system.

I am very sorry to hear that the screen on your TV is darkening. It sounds like this might be due to the ECO Sensor or Motion Lighting features.
ECO Sensor automatically adjusts the brightness level of the TV according to ambient light level, reducing power consumption. If the Eco Sensor has adjusted the screen's brightness level, you can select Min. Backlight to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness.
Motion Lighting adjusts the brightness in response to on-screen movements to reduce power consumption.
To control these features, please go to Home > Settings > System > Eco Solution.

My husband and I bought this tv for our family room. We loved it until it just stopped turning on. We had Samsung come out and told us the panel stopped working, which they told us would cost $1,120 for a new one. How is that even possible? A brand new TV costs less! We will never buy Samsung again! I've had Vizio's for 10 years and never had an issue and they cost half the price!

Tv performed great until it crossed the 1 yr purchase warranty. Now it is stuck in a constant power loop. Turns on for 30 seconds then off. Never stops. Samsung is more than happy to repair it if I pay for it. Why is it acceptable to manufacture junk that breaks. What happened to making a product that would last. 2k dollar TVs are not a consumable item and should perform better.

Samsung dropped the ball on this one. I got the TV in the back was coming off from the front. Live sports looked poor and choppy. My LG 6350, the 7650 looks way better. Also the one connect a RC Channel would work the audio return Channel where is sound goes from the TV to the receiver via HDMI wouldn't work and Samsung had no answer after talking to customer service 15 times.

BEST 65" UHD TV FOR THE MONEY !!!

I researched and read reviews for almost a month before I bought the Samsung 8000 4K UHD 240hz HDR 65" TV (flat screen, not curved). Set up was a breeze. It connected to my Wi Fi no problem. Picture is amazing. Colors and detail like I have never seen before in a TV. Football games are like being on the field !! Absolutely NO light bleed, or motion blur. You can talk to the remote to change channels and perform other functions. I see why several sites said this was the best TV for the money. Just started streaming NETFLIX in 4K UHD ($12 month)...AMAZING !!
Best Buy has a 15 day return policy in case you do have a problem
4K UHD Blu-Ray player will be next. Shouldn't be too long before broadcast will upgraded to 4K UHD since NETFLIX has been streaming 4K UHD for three years !!
