Sports/movie lovers and Gamers this TV is the one

Got this TV a week ago to replace a 42" plasma. So far I'm very happy with it. I've never owned a 65" tv before and had doubts of it being too big. After a few days I got used to it. We sit about 13 - 15 feet away from the TV so it's not overwhelming. Pros: *Sleek design - love the thin borders all the way around and the stainless steel finish. *Picture quality - resolution, color detail, fast motion handling are top notch. Watching football, basketball and golf on this tv just brings the experience to a whole new level. Movies especially newer big budgets are so crystal clear. *Gaming - I have a PS4 hooked up. Although it's only 1080p the upscaling and input lag is very noticeable. Playing Battlefield 1 the colors and detail just pop. On the 65" screen I can see every detail even far away targets are more visible. *Sound - I'm very impressed by the sound quality. Sound output gets better from cable tv to streaming HD movies with advanced sound. I haven't viewed any UHD videos yet. *Smart Feature - I like that I can easily switch between all my streaming services. Netflix, Amazon and HBO Now. Even switching to my Apple TV is a breeze. The tv remote can control my Apple TV too. Cons: *Video streaming - I've experienced buffering issues while streaming directly from the tv apps. Not sure if it's due to the speed of my internet. But watching from my Apple TV I don't experience any buffering issues. Samsung or the 3rd party apps may need to issue a software update to fix this problem. Overall this tv excellent and at $1500 you get a lot of value for your money. Out of the box the picture modes are decent, but you'll want to adjust some of the settings to suit your taste.

    Great TV

I read all the reviews on this model and was a little concerned about some of the negative ones. I have had it in operation for about 5 days and have not noticed any problems with it. The picture is very good as is the sound. I bought a Polk Magni Fi sound bar to use with it. The sound now it great. I got my on sale for $1599 and I also looked at the 9000 series which was $400 more. Yes the picture was a little better, but this is with the store signal a display program. For the price difference I also bought a 32" samsung for around $219 on sale. ( also great picture). Bottom line: the tv was easy to set up and the picture is great. (my first smart tv). Time will tell about the quality, but at this point I would not hesitate to buy another one. The sales guy was helpful and explained a few things I did not know about the set. One thing about reviews, if you buy something that is faulty, you are going to tell the world. If you get something that is great, do you really take the time to tell that story. I would suggest to get at least the 2yr warranty, just in case. With this tv, they told me that Geek Squad would come to my house if there was a problem in this time frame. I have bought several tv's and other electronic items from Best Buy over the years and have not had any problems with them. I have not tried it but this tv would be over kill if you use a over air antenna. The Polk sound bar (if you catch it on sale) is a great partner for this tv.

    Beautiful TV, Amazing picture

First things first. I originally looked at Sony X850D and LG UN7700. And some how the LG rep convinced me to get the LG. Had the LG for about 2 weeks but I was just not pleased with the pictures quality. I tried everything to get the picture to my satisfaction but no luck. I returned the LG and got the 65" KS8000 and the picture looked amazing right out of the box. Performed some picture calibration and it looks more amazing now. Regular cable TV content looks great, and 1080P, 4K UHD, HDR look amazing. Set up was very easy for me since I like exploring new technologies. The brightness on this TV is excellent. Black levels are excellent. This beautiful TV is great for watching sports, movies, games, and regular cable tv. Like any other TV, you need to calibrate pictures settings to your personal preference. My only complain about this TV is the pictures micro stutter that it is noticeable once in awhile. Not a deal breaker though. The KS8000 is definitely an coming from a Samsung 60" plasma which has an amazing picture also but older technology. I'd had this TV for two weeks now and so far so good.

Great Tv, not the best for fast-action

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The color is great on this tv, but it doesn't handle fast action sports like hockey very well. You can see halos around the puck at times, and it drives me nuts. I set judder and de-blur to 0, but in the end I returned the tv. I came from a pioneer plasma, which was awesome. I returned for the smaller 55 LG OLED, and it handles fast-action very well, and the colors and contrast are outstanding. If you don't watch things like hockey or fast moving sports, then definitely a great tv. The other issue that I had was I had to play around with the settings a lot to get the color and clarity to how I liked it, but in the end, it was nice.

    Beautiful Design and Picture

I have owned this now for 3 weeks....Waited for this TV to become available and glad that I did. I was replacing an 8yr old Samsung 55 inch TV with this one and it was very very well worth the wait. The picture quality on 1080i resolution (cable) is wonderful. With Bluray and 4k content it is simply unbelievable. I did not need to buy any additional HDMI cables as my Audioquest Cinnamon level ones worked just fine. The slim bezel design makes it so you really just see the screen and nothing else. The sound quality from this TV's speakers were also surprising....much better than my older TV but I still prefer to run it through my surround setup (sonos soundbar, sub, and play 1's in the rear). Nice rich sound with good base levels. I was able to calibrate the TV on my own to have the picture look the way I like....everyone is different in that respect so just play around with the settings for a few weeks and you'll find "it". Great purchase and I would recommend.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung 4K TV. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues.
If you have a Samsung brand sound bar, you can try the following steps:
press the "Bluetooth POWER" button on the remote to turn the feature on. The Bluetooth POWER On function is available after you have successfully connected the Soundbar to a Bluetooth compatible TV using TV SoundConnect. When the Bluetooth POWER On function is ON, turning the connected TV on or off will turn the Soundbar's power on and off as well.

I hope this helps to resolve the issues. For further assistance, please contact Samsung Customer Support toll-free at 1-800-SAMSUNG and a representative will gladly help you.

Maybe we got stuck with a dud...

I did extensive research on this television and many others prior to our purchase of this set. It's a handsome TV with thin chrome bezels and the cords are simplified through the use of a hub. Setup was painless and the colors are quite good especially with 4k HDR programming. Completed all network updates to TV fairly easily. The remote, while flimsy, is useful enough for the new age as more and more people cut the cable. There are two areas that really let this set down: Apps and Backlighting. Apps: Within a day, several of the apps (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu) would get stuck and there was no way to restart the stuck app. After trying everything, I looked up several chat groups with many other people reporting the same problem. I tried everything and the only fix was to unplug the TV, then replug and power on. This has occurred more than five times in the two weeks we've owned it. A major pain that shouldn't happen in a new $1500 TV. I can only imagine how much worse this will get with time if we're seeing bugs like this immediately. Backlighting: A TV in this price range should have even backlighting, plain and simple. If you are on a largely uniform one-color screen, or part of the screen is an image that has uniform color, then you notice how poor the backlighting is on this thing. There's light and dark strips that are visually apparent. It gets worse the more off-center you go. Directly in center front, it's difficult to notice. At 60 degrees you start to see it. At 45degrees it makes you upset that this thing was over $1500. There's also some light bleed on the bottom right edge. It's going back.

    After much deliberation

and reading every review I could find plus reading the thread on AVSforums, I decided to give the KS8000 in 65" a try. I hauled it home and set it up. The picture quality using Directv exceeded my expectations. The set up confused me because after selecting Directv as my provider, it kept trying to find my Dish box and I spent some time trying to make it install my Directv box. Finally, I just kept going and when I finished, it said Directv. Not sure what all that was about but it was a real irritant for awhile. I don't particularly like the smarthub but I am not going to use much, if any, of the apps at the current time. I don't like the remote but I would probably get used to it. Rather than using it, I reprogrammed my old Harmony One universal remote and it works well combining my Directv box, Sony Soundbar, and the KS8000 into one unit. Does exactly what I want. I also use a PS for my video playbacks. I like the One Connect box set up and I run everything into my Sony CT780 soundbar which I recently picked up to replace my old Ongkyo surround set up to get rid of all the wires running everywhere. I am blown away by picture quality and I found no obvious flaws in the screen. I set the picture to Movie and tweaked the settings a bit using the Rtings settings as a starting place. I am glad I finally pulled the trigger as this one meets and beats my expectations.

The setup is simplistic with step by step guidance. The picture is almost flawless, as compared to the LG which cost $$$ more this TV is well worth it. Sound is better than average for being a LED flat panel. We paired with the HW-K650 Soundbar and radiant 360 R1 for rears, a marriage meant to be. We couldn't be happier

I've recently tried 3 65 inch 4K tvs before finally staying with this one! I tried the Vizio m-series which was good but terrible for regular cable tv and the Sony 930d which was an amazing tv as well but just not as sharp as the Samsung in my opinion! This tv is very easy to set up and use and looks great! The picture quality is definitely what you would expect from them and more! With plenty of picture adjustment options and dimming the picture on this tv is amazing! The color with quantum dot display is really unbelieveable when watching any Pixar film on blu ray or any movie for that matter and if your a fan of sports this set is the best for that hands down!!! It looks like you are sitting live at the game !! With plenty of features and superb picture quality this tv is highly recommended !! If your looking to up grade and can't decide like I did lol get this tv you will not be disappointed!!!! If you live near Towson hit up the store on York road the guys there are awesome and can help with any questions you might have!

We have always been Samsung tv owners; however, we decided to go against our gut and go with a 70" Vizio (for the price and size). We HATED it. So we returned it for a Sony 65" 850D because they were out of stock of this Samsung. It was much better than the Vizio; however, it just looked dull. When we would set it to the vivid color mode, it looked even worse. Third time is the charm, we took the Sony back and bought the Samsung 65" KS8000 when it was back in stock. FINALLY! A tv that has an incredible picture and shows what 4K is truly all about. It was incredibly easy to set up. Took us maybe 20 minutes from the time we carried it into our house until we were fully connected to wifi and watching cable. I can't say enough good things about this TV. Buy it, you will not regret it.

After a bad experience with a high-end Sharp TV, I battled with myself over investing in another relatively expensive set. My old Panasonic plasma still worked, but was starting to lose some of its luster after 6 years. I had recently bought a 60" Samsung 1080 for another room, which is great, and decided my plasma just wasn't cutting it anymore. Went to Best Buy numerous times to look, kept checking the sales, and finally settled on this one. Seemed to have the best balance of price and specs. Easy setup, recognized all my devices, the remote takes a little getting used to, but works my cable box, and even my Amazon Fire, which is a Bluetooth remote system. Picture quality is outstanding, didn't really need much tweaking. Tremendous black levels for a non-OLED panel. ($$!) Xfinity tv looks great, improved, some channels are better than others, but that's normal. BluRays are better than ever, even from my PS3. Will get the 4K disc player once I get my Rewards points, and expect even better BluRay performance from that. Once the unit is set up, it powers on immediately, no warm up or logo screen, you just jump in. Another nice feature is the EcoSensor, that adjusts the picture depending on the light level in the room. What's special about that is that you can adjust how much minimum backlight stays when the lights go out. Very cool. It's a great set. If 65" is your size, you won't be disappointed. One last thing, the Samsung logo that lights up at bottom frame when the TV is on can be turned off in the settings menu. It's kind of unnecessary, and distracting. You can tell if the set is OFF by the red LED standby light at the lower right of the frame anyway. The salesperson was unaware of this when I asked. And kudos to Best Buy customer service, too. The set was on sale when I bought it, but the price dropped another $100 a few days later, and they credited me with no hassles. Thanks, BB!
