Great upgrade for my 11yo home theatre

In 2005, I spent a bundle to buy the best I could buy. The TV was a 50" Pioneer Elite plasma. The system was purchased through BBY's Magnolia department and installed by the Geek Squad. The installation was flawless as was the performance of all components other than some "burn-in" on the plasma TV. After 11 years, it was time for an upgrade to 4K. Given the success of the original installation, it only made sense to go back to BBY and Geek Squad. I researched components for two months and ordered online during the Labor Day sales. I have to confess I am stunned with the picture on this Samsung 8000. Of course, the little 4K media that is available is incredible but the everyday picture on cable is fantastic. The TV shows it as 1920 x 1080 which I guess is "2K" but whatever, it is a significant upgrade to everyday viewing. There are too many features to go into here but I am blown away by the improvement in my daily viewing and I highly recommend it to you. You will not be disappointed.

    Incredible picture

Wonderful picture quality. 4k HDR content is beautiful. Was comparing this between the 850d Sony bravia and am glad that I went with the Samsung. The universal remote is pretty good, my only complaint about it is that it does not turn on and off my cable box and av receiver when powering up or down the tv. I was not aware of the one connect box on this tv until I removed it from the box to set it up. In the end I love the one connect system since my tv is mounted on the wall above my entertainment center. It is nice having all of the components hook up to a single input and output box in the entertainment center itself. Overall I love the TV so far. Hopefully we will get many years of enjoyment out of it.

Replaced Panasonic 50 inch plasma with this 65KH8000. What a difference. Best picture I've ever experienced. We have Direct TV and the colors are amazing. Highly recommend to anyone. As with all of theses sets if you get a bad one...it doesn't make them all bad...bring it back and get another one.

This is such a step up from our previous 2012 samsung 3d smart tv. The picture is stunning and I can't believe some of the other reviews indicate otherwise. The remote is designed well and the TV responds quickly when opening apps and webpages. I would absolutely recommend this TV to anyone.

Bought Vizio P series...then I got this BABY!!

Was doing alot of reviews for a new 65". CNET had talked about the Vizio P series being the superior TV and displaying both HDR formats. Took a chance and bought the Vizio. Nope. Wasn't happening. Returned it for this Samsung. (I reviewed the P series on bestbuy too if you want to read why we didnt like it) This TV is everything I expected. I love the ability to talk to the remote and bring up apps or HDMI inputs. Picture quality is just superb. TV is sexy and sleek. We're very happy to add this to our Samsung family of products. It's just a better TV than the Vizio P series, and we tried both.

Quality TV for the Price Point

I'm a research before you buy guy. I own a Pioneer Elite plasma. I was in need an additional TV and for the Price Point due to technology advances and lack of. This is a great TV. Fantastic Clarity, Brightness and functions. Still a slight motion blur which is hard to get away from at this point. I only watch HD quality video so I have no idea what 780 or 480p would look like. Takes a little while to adjust to the friendly opening menu that can be disabled if desired. Speakers on the unit.... I do not use them and wouldn't recommend it. This does fantastic for movies both bright and dark... Satisfied consumer. This should get me through until OLED matures to no motion blur. 4 stars -- I don't know of a LED or OLED under 10K that I would give 5 stars.

Originally purchased the Sony 65" x850D and was not happy with the light bleed the set suffered so I exchanged for the Samsung 65KS8000. This set is so much better than the Sony! I do not have any light bleed issues, the picture is bright and crisp and the black color looks great! You will need to purchase 4 M8 45mm screws for mounting as they are not included. Some have posted they used the 50mm screws but I found them too long unless you use additional spacers or multiple washers. Have always owned Samsung TV's and this one does not disappoint!

This 65 inch 4K ultra is one truly astonishing Television. I went a little overboard reviewing and comparing Samsung vs LG OLED ($$$) and I can honestly say, I made the correct decision. The picture quality is breath taking and the ease of the Samsung remote set up is simple and uncomplicated. I was able to sync my Yamaha sound bar, Blu-Ray player and Xfinity cable remote with no problem. The sound quality is decent for the TV, but I would suggest connecting a sound bar or home theater to get the max out of the viewing experience.

First one i got had a small line through the screen but doesn't mean anything, stuff happens. Got it replace the next day without a problem. Initial setup was quick and easy. Tv literally powers on almost instantly, its mind blowing. Picture is outstanding. Local dimming is extremely impressive. Most TVs I've owned have always had the brighter gray spots on black screens, but this tv handles black and white credit screens like a champ. Colors are out of this world. I can easily see why this set is one of the top 5 TVs of 2016.

This Samsung TV was my first choice after researching. I was swayed to Sony as a recommendation by the BestBuy sales guy. I went with the Sony X930D. It died within 24 hours! I returned it for a refund. I then purchased this TV. Wow! The setup was so much easier. The remote is smaller but more capable! The TV interface is so much easier and responsive to navigate than the Sony X930D. Thank you Samsung!

This tv has great picture quality and it upscales tv content better than most competitors. It's easy to navigate and set up. I've not noticed any bad angles or loss of picture quality regardless of where I sit in my living room. It's not a 3D tv however, if that matters to you.

    Best gaming TV of 2016.

My biggest concern when buying a TV is playing videogames on it, and that is this tv's strongest attribute. It does everything well, but it does Videogames best. The input lag is very low in game mode, and it even does HDR game mode with low input lag. No other tv on the market right now can do that. This is becoming increasingly important when you look at the Xbox One S, and the Playstation 4 Pro. Both bring HDR to videogames for the first time. The colors are amazing, and right out of the box the tv has accurate colors. Also something a lot of tvs don't get right. No adjustments needed here. Bluray movies look great, and 4K blurays look incredible. Buy this tv without hesitation.

    Great TV for the price

I bought this TV a week ago after some deliberation and so far I am very pleased with it. It is not perfect, but it has a good price/value ratio. It takes some time and tricks to adjust it. For example, turn motion compensation off to eliminate judder and adjust the automatic dimming to prevent the image to go too dim. I have read other reviews and some are complaining about the quality of the image and light bleeding, but I have not experienced any light bleeding, and if you do not have 4K content, do not expect fantastic picture, except for good color. If you do not have 4K and what to at least make an assessment on picture quality, play a blu-ray DVD.

    Important stand information

This is a terrific TV, especially for movies. And upscaling lower res content is excellent, especially 1080p cable content and Blu-ray DVD's. I almost didn't buy this TV because all the pictures and the specifications show the feet that hold up the TV are at the far edges of the screen so it wouldn't fit on my table. Found out at the last minute from a Samsung rep that there are alternate slots which place the feet closer to the center of the screen. I wonder how many sales of this wonderful TV are lost because of the wide foot placement in the pictures.

After doing my research online I came to the conclusion that this was the TV I wanted. Couldn't be happier! All the reviewers online and TV review sites were right, this is THE BEST TV you can buy as far as an LED/LCD panel goes. Only thing better would be a OLED panel. Highly recommended!! Can't beat it for the money!

A problem with One Connect Box

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Just set up the 8000 65" model. The picture is good, although I am a bit disappointed in the motion blur when watching sports. My biggest issue is with the One Connect Box set up. I was really looking forward to the One Connect set up as I thought it would be most convenient to have the inputs so easily accessible compared to the inputs on the back of a TV as with other brands. If you plan to use the "stands" and set the TV on top of a cabinet, then it will work great. However, if you are like me and want to mount the TV on a wall, then you will have problems. The One Connect Cable is NOT In Wall Rated. This means you can not run the cable behind a wall and have your One Connect Box separate from your TV. Instead, you will have to have your One Connect Box in the Mount behind your TV and run all In Wall Rated HDMI cords behind the wall from your cabinet to the back of your TV. My question to Samsung is why not make the One Connect Cable In wall Rated? You are defeating the convenience of the One Connect Box for everyone who wants to mount their TV on the wall and hide the cables.

    Great TV!

I read a lot before making this purchase decision. Curved TV screens are largely worthless, Sony is not up to par just now; reputation for build quality and value lies in Samsung these days. At least that's the purport of two full days of reviewing assessments of televisions online. This particular Samsung TV is really great. With HD programming its display is spectacular. As it happens, based on all I could determine online about its dimensions and physical features, I determined it necessary to build a wide enough platform for the TV to rest on, i.e., atop my existing stand. The two brackets under the TV were clearly too wide for my 48-inch stand. I bought the wood, stained it, and had everything ready for delivery of the TV. Only when the TV arrived did I learn that there are TWO spacing options for those brackets. The narrower spacing option is only 36 inches so the 48-inch stand was more than adequate. Anybody need a 60-inch plywood support?!!! Also, the TV does not appear to be susceptible to my ham radio transmissions nor does it emit spurious radiations that interfere with my reception. Its setup out of the box is straightforward despite there being no manual. Everything is on the screen, with help available via Wifi from Samsung though I did not need that. This is not an inexpensive machine so you'd expect some level of quality and performance. I am satisfied, and Best Buy was great in terms of delivery and unpacking, etc. (They made sure the TV worked before they left, a good thing to do!) Now let's hope it lasts at least ten years like my 50" LCD Sony did!

Purchased this TV online the Saturday before the super bowl. Great sale price. Replaced a five year old Sharp 60 inch that had nothing wrong with it. Store pickup was fast and easy no one trying to sale me something else. Installed the TV on the wall luckily I still had all the screws that came with my old wall mount. None were included with the TV. After a few hours of watching different programming and tweaking picture settings I was amazed at the great picture. It is very clear and the UHD HRD programming on Amazon look amazing. Can't wait to get a few UHD blue ray disk to try in my Xbox one S. Cant comment on sound quality I have it hooked to a 7.1 surround system. Nice slim bezels it is not much bigger than my old 60 inch. Overall glad I made the purchase.
