Even though I was shopping primarily for a budget price, this dryer has more functions than higher priced models. It has a large capacity and can be set to a variety of dryness levels, or timed dry. And if I have to run it and leave the wrinkle prevent function keeps the clothes from clumping and wrinkling until I can empty it. This was a great purchase.

We purchased this dryer after our old gas dryer stopped working. After having it for about a year, here are my thoughts: PROS I am still very impressed with how quickly it dries clothes! Where the previous dryer took about twice as long to dry a full load as our washer took to wash a load, this dryer speedily dries a load even FASTER than the wash cycle. Maybe all dryers are just that efficient now and our washer is out-dated; I am not sure. But I am thoroughly impressed every time I use it. The wrinkle release feature is also nice; I like to fold the clothes as soon as the dryer completes so that the clothes don't sit in there and get wrinkled. This feature allows you to leave it in there for an additional couple of hours after the drying is done; it will tumble and add heat every few minutes to keep the clothes from settling down and getting wrinkly. Perfect for when I can't get to the folding right away. The lint trap is also in a convenient place - right inside the door. It also won't let you start a new load until you have checked the lint trap to make sure it is empty. Helpful for me since I forget often. It is very quiet when it runs, compared to our last dryer. We have a small laundry room right nest to a number of bedrooms, and my kids say they can only hear it slightly now when it runs at night while they are trying to sleep. CONS My biggest complaint about the dryer is the location of the front door. Our previous dryer door was tall enough that you could leave a laundry basket on the floor and still open the door - convenient to unload the clothes directly from the dryer into the laundry baskets by scooping the clothes out. Because this door on this dryer is mounted lower, the door opens and hits a basket in front of the swinging door. This means that you have to open the door wide, then put the basket in front of the opening in order to scoop out the clothes. Then you have to move the now full basket out of they way in order to close the door again. Inconvenient for our small little laundry room. I suppose you could purchase one of those dryer bases with a drawer to put under it to alleviate this problem - it would also make it easier to load an unload since you don't have to bend down so far. But we don't want to spend another $200 or so just for that. The other complaint I have is just a manufacturer's defect; it allows a small bit of a gas smell out of the dryer when not in use. Not enough to be dangerous, just a little whiff of gas. and it doesn't occur super often, just every once in a while. We had the hookup checked by a professional to make sure we didn't have any gas leak - and it was not anything with the line, just something inside the dryer itself. Its not dangerous, just kind of an annoyance. SUMMARY Overall, I give it 4 stars for its efficiency and quietness. If its door was higher, it would be perfect. A very good purchase at the price we paid for it. A simple machine that does its job well. I'd buy it again.

Good dryer but moisture sensor is a gimmick

I just got this dryer installed couple days and have put it through a few loads of laundry to dry. Tried the moisture sensor feature for the first 3 loads but by the end of each cycle, the clothes were still noticeably damp. So decided to just stick with the timed dryer cycles which worked like a charm. Here is the list of pros and cons for me. Pros: - quieter than my previous 10-year old Maytag which was a work horse but definitely louder than this Samsung. - dries clothes efficiently as it should. - big load capacity - the door is quite tall so you can toss in more clothes at a time. - convenient location for lint catcher Cons: - moister sensor feature is somewhat of a gimmick; even at the highest setting, it didn't detect that my clothes were still damp - it plays a little music after each load of laundry is complete. Luckily my dryer is installed in the basement but if it were installed on the first or second floor, I can see it being annoying In the end, it's a good dryer that will hopefully last us many years. I must also add that the third-party installers Bestbuy used were very professional and did a good job with the installation.

I really like this dryer. My clothes dry very quickly and the dryer itself is very quiet when running. It fits larger loads but i noticed i need to use a time dry setting if it is a larger load. Otherwise, i use the time Time dry function and usually within about 40 mins my laundry is done! The setup and install was quick and easy and my husband was able to connect it himself. Just make sure you get the appropriate parts when purchasing.

Samsung dryer beats my three year old dryer hands down. Easy to use, beautiful looking machine. Quiet, and efficient. Love it, the price was lower than expected, however the quality was exceptional. As a result I replaced my washer two weeks later. They are a formidable pair.

I love the different settings, I mostly use the moisture sensor settings so that I do not over dry my clothing. I would have given it a 5 star but it does not have a much needed light.

We required a smaller area for installation of the Samsung - 7.2 Cu. Ft. 8-Cycle Gas Dryer - White and this dryer really fits the bill. We also enjoy the quietness and ease of operation plus the sophisticated electronics, especially the moisture sensor function. We purchased the gas model and it dries cloths super fast. My wife loves it!

I am happy with my purchase. I originally bought GE 3.8-cu ft Top-Load Washer/GE 7.2-cu ft Gas Dryer, but it was so loud during washes! I returned and am so glad that I did. I think Samsung is way a better brand in general even though GE has been around since forever. I have the matching washer and dryer of this model (Samsung 4.0-cu ft Top-Load Washer). They are big! *I had 2 MUST HAVE'S due to the million reviews that I read: 1. Top loading machine. There were a lot of complaints with the front loaders not being able to add in last minute clothes once cycle began, the front rubber area tended to get moldy/leaky. uh gross!; 2. I wanted to be able to control the water levels ie- tell it what size my load was versus the machine "weighing the clothes"/adding water accordingly. There were a ton of reviews that said there was never enough water in the machine/clothes don't clean/came out lightly damp, etc. The two requirements above helped narrow down my options leading into a decision because A. there are way more front loading washers than top loading and B.there were like two washers that gave you control of water levels. I can confidently say - I am happy with my investment. A girl needs options you know! Best Buy is a dream.

We purchased this dryer with the matching washing machine and we love it. It is huge! And, it does what we ask the dryer to do - it dries clothes. It does so really well, quietly and efficiently. The only downside is that it doesn't have an interior light. Not a real biggie for us so it doesn't downgrade the score... I would buy this again!

This is a great dryer for the money with my experience. My dad needed a new dryer and he's not one for fancy appliances but has always had Samsung. We have had it for about 2 months and it's been a great dryer. No issues with the auto sensor like other reviews state, the clothes are always dry when we use this setting. The song at the end of each cycle is very long, but the dryer is in our basement so we never hear it anyways.I like that the door can be switched to either side. In my opinion it's a great dryer, well built, and perfect for someone that just wants a simple dryer with the basic settings such as auto sense, wrinkle release, delicate and timed dry.

Dryer works great, is quiet and has plenty of room for bedding and such. Sometimes I have to run some loads a second time but I haven't owned a dryer that has been able to clean a comforter in 1 cycle.

We purchased this Samsung top-load washer (as a set) at a great price and I am very pleased with our purchase. They are efficient and easy to use. I would have liked for it to have a time display to know how much time is left on the wash but otherwise a great buy.

The dryer was first installed by the Best Buy delivery team, and it didn't seem to dry efficiently at all. After I pulled it out and reseated the exhaust ducting it seems to dry normally. Otherwise it's a nice unit

As a basic model (doesn't include steam or other upgraded features) this dryer functions exceptionally well. It's capacity is great, efficiency in drying is better than expected, and the functionality is intuitive. Operation is very quiet and the various cycles deliver exactly what you'd expect.

I had to keep checking to be sure it was running. Very quiet! Nice assortment of options without the 'bunch no one ever uses'. Dried quickly. I do wish it sat closer to the wall...sticks out several inches farther than my old one. Mine was old...maybe they all do now?
