Had a 65" Q series full array lighted TV but wanted something bigger for our main room. I spoke to one Best Buy employee that told me I would be disappointed with the side lighting of the NU series compared to my Q series now. I let him get into my head that I was making a mistake in purchasing this 82" NU8000. So I went home and did my research again then went to a different Best Buy and spoke to an employee there. The employee told me exactly what I had thought I would get based on our usage and he agreed I was good to go with the NU. We use this TV for- 1. AT&T Uverse (Fiber) 2. Netflix (Mostly HD, some 4K content) This TV is amazing. I do not regret giving up the full array lighting and going to a side light to get an 82" TV for $3,000. No one can hold a candle to Samsung's side lighting technology. Even with this massive screen the center of the image is bright and crisp, even on STD settings. I've since tweeked the coloring setting a little based on rtings.com and I'm extreamly happy with this TV from standard HD shows to sports to Netflix. Great purchase!

This tv is massive. The box was HUGE! We needed a large tv for the massive wall above a fireplace. Without breaking the bank and getting a tv 80inch plus. This was the tv we chose. We love Samsung and have had excellent experiences with other Samsung TVs. The quality is great. The features are fabulous. I love all the different app options. We got this as a delivery and that went smoothly as well. No damage to the tv or box.

Perfect fit for an entertainer. Great clear picture for sports events and UHD movies. Links well to the Samsung Family Hub refrigerator. Minus one star for not being very intuitive with changing input I.e. changing from Xbox to DIRECTV to other Smart TV functions.

Huge screen great picture for movies and for playing video games. Picture looks clear even from a side angle, we have our furniture surround the TV in our house. Love the voice control on the remote and all the additional apps. Also really cool how you can control it from your cell phone when you download the Samsung mobile app.

Picture is so clear and large it sometimes feels like it has as 3D effect. Very pleased.

I did an extensive amount of research before buying this TV and was between the Q60, Q80 and NU8000 for a few months. BestBuy ultimately made my decision easy when they put the NU8000 on sale last month and included a $300 gift card which made it a no brainer...and I am glad they did. It's really hard to believe a picture could look any better than what this TV can produce until we start seeing more true 4k content broadcasted. When you are in the store looking at the highly optimized demo content, you will see that the higher end TVs look ridiculously good. The only unfortunate thing is that you will be hard pressed to replicate that experience at home unless you own a movie production studio. What I love about the TV: - Very thin and relatively light for an 82" TV - Picture is fantastic in most lighting conditions when set on a 10 degree tilt. - Smart features are very comparable to the competition but the Smart things integration is a huge plus if you have other smart things appliances. e.g., My oven controls are available on my TV - Tons of HDMI inputs - Did I mention it's an 82"... What I would change: Samsung eliminating the OneConnect box on all TVs except their flagship line was a dumb move. It was actually a competitive advantage Samsung had over the competition. I am sure a majority of the population is planning to wall mount their TV and now needs to purchase 4 - 25' HDMI cables (which is insane) when I previously was able to run a single OneConnect cable to the OneConnect box and connect all of my components in a central location without the need for tons of cables run behind the wall. Overall, I highly recommend this TV for the build quality, picture, and features. The only thing I wish they didn't change from prior years is dropping the OneConnect box but I will adapt.

Recently picked up a Samsung 82" NU8000 as a secondary TV. I recently purchased another high end Samsung, so I did not need to spend a fortune on this one. I have to say, I was quite impressed on the color and clarity when viewing 4K content. I love the size as well. Paired up with a complete Sonos system, and this TV is perfect. Definitely happy with my purchase and glad I went with Samsung again!

It looked so small in the store. I bought a new stand for it, and the stand stood about 2.5-3' tall (?). That, plus the TV stands 6.5' tall. It is definitely the main attraction in my family room! Good thing my living room is big enough for this! I saw the side by side with the QLED, and I really worried about buyers remorse, because the Q was beautiful. But once you get it in your house, and you're watching it daily, you won't notice it, unless you're a person that glues their face to the TV, looking for every imperfection, and you'll have saved yourself $1k-$1.5k. I don't remember the price on this TV, but when I bought it, it was on sale, and it was CHEAP, I mean so cheap, it was hard for me to even look at the Q, sitting right next to it. This TV hasn't failed us. We use the built in apps constantly. There's occasionally some issues with suddenly not being able to play titles on YouTube, and I haven't figured out how to reset the app yet, but it's pretty rare, so I'm not overly concerned (but it would be nice if Samsung had a way to kill apps, and restart them - maybe they do?)

In all, this is a good TV. It does have some annoyances, though. Out of the box, the picture is pretty bad. It takes some messing around in the settings to get good. If you have good source content, the picture looks fantastic. Throw in a mediocre source, and it's pretty bad. Worse than some other TVs I've seen. Garbage in/Garbage out. If you use an external media player (Apple TV, Roku, etc), things may get irritating. Switching to a soundbar, or using passthrough from a soundbar or receiver makes it so the universal remote doesn't control much. If you plug straight into the TV (ARC is on HDMI4, and all inputs support HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2), the remote will identify the device and work. Pretty neat. However, you'll lose Dolby ATMOS if you have it (the TV will passthrough the DTS+, but not straight ATMOS). I'm going to keep the TV, but I'll admit that I wish I'd have taken a better look (in person) of the Sony 85" 850F.

I purchased the 82inch, and 75inch, and am very happy with the product. Voice activated input switching, and simplistic remote. So easy to use, with a fast UI.

I absolutely love the quality of this tv. I have been waiting quite sometime to upgrade the size of my family room tv. I have bad eyesight and wanted to get something larger than the 55" I had in the room. This tv was the answer! I spend more time in the family room now. Movies and regular shows are so much better now! I don't have cable and the antenna shows crispy clear. I do recommend pairing the tv with a nice sound bar though.
