I bought this to replace my standard Samsung SSD for my Galaxy Book 2 360. I had to do a motherboard replacement so I figured it would be a good time to upgrade the SSD as well. I can see a big difference in performance and I doubled my storage space for future proofing my laptop. I'm very happy with this purchase and the Samsung products.

Installation was very straightforward and took no more than ten minutes. Configuration was also easy and performance is as expected. I was worried about overheating but have not run into that problem

Installed it in my ROG Zephyrus G16, and I'm really happy with the speed. Samsung drives always have a good reputation and reliability as well. Definitely a great budget option given the speed and specs.

I recently upgraded to the Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1TB SSD, and it has completely transformed my system’s performance. The installation was straightforward with the M.2 2280 form factor, and my PC recognized it instantly.
The advertised speeds of up to 7,150 MB/s are no joke—boot times and game load times are almost instantaneous now. Perfect for gamers, streamers, and anyone who does heavy multitasking. The build quality is excellent as expected from Samsung, and at this price point, it’s an incredible value.
Highly recommend this SSD if you want top-tier performance without breaking the bank!

After an extensive search on M2 SSDs, I found the best performance amongst all its competitors. After installing in my HP Spectre Laptop, performance improved a lot. This is best compared to Optane based memory.

I picked up the Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1TB to replace an older Gen 3 NVMe drive, and the difference was immediate. Install was painless—slid right into the M.2 slot, detected instantly in BIOS, and was ready to go in minutes. No firmware headaches, no compatibility issues, just worked.
Performance is exactly what you’d expect at this tier. Boot times are noticeably faster, large file transfers are consistently quick, and game load screens that used to linger are basically gone. I regularly move large project files and system images, and this drive stays fast even during sustained transfers, not just quick benchmarks.
Thermals have also been excellent. Even without an aggressive heatsink, temperatures stay well within safe ranges during heavy use. It’s quiet, efficient, and doesn’t throttle under normal workloads.
What really stands out is reliability. I’ve used Samsung SSDs for years in multiple systems, and they’ve always been dependable. This drive feels like a long-term investment rather than a disposable upgrade, which matters when it’s holding your OS and important data.
If you’re building a new PC or upgrading an older NVMe, the 990 EVO Plus hits a great balance of speed, stability, and value. It’s not just fast on paper—it’s fast where it actually counts day to day. I’d buy it again without hesitation.

I was looking for an internal SSD to replace my 5+ year-old SSD SATA drive that had Windows and a few other programs installed on it. This SSD was an excellent choice! I used Samsung Magician to easily and effortlessly transfer everything over to the new drive and now Windows loads up significantly faster. My pc is performing better than ever!

Although I trust Samsung SSDs more than any other brand, I'm disappointed that Samsung Magician does not fully support the 990 EVE Plus with all the Magician features (as of March 2025). Among the Magician features missing for the 990 EVO Plus are "Disk Partitioning" and "Performance Optimization". The 990 EVO Plus isn't even listed in the supported models -- and I have the latest version of the software.
This, and the recent failure of my last Samsung SSD (990 Pro 2TB, failed a month after warranty coverage) make me a little more likely to research other options for SSD.
I suspect that the Samsung EVO devices, because of their design and lack of onboard RAM, can't support those features. Still, it's disappointing. You gotta partition these large SSDs to keep things organized. I used another partition manager for this.
On the plus side, I installed my 990 EVO Plus 1TB in my laptop, and it is ideally suited for this -- low profile, heatsink not needed because it has never exceeded 40*C.
