It is speedy for small file transfers. Lack of onboard RAM does not help with larger file transfers but it gets the job done. Be sure to read which of these has DRAM and which do not.

After using several different brands of SSDs, I can confidently say that I always come back to SAMSUNG’s 990s for their quality (and SAMSUNG Magician).

I purchased two of these SSDs on two different machines. So far both have performed flawlessly. Installation was a little problematic on one of the machines, but I think the tolerance on the motherboard was the problem.

If burn rubber was a SSD this is it. The differnce in speed is noticable coming from silicone power brand, this is faster and runs cooler without a heatsink, no playing games though, only work and surf which involves processing bunch of ish through winzip and rar, so this awesome.

Fast and a great deal. Never had any problems with Samsung SSD. The Magician software gives it a bit more boost when you set it to performance mode.

My previous SSD had died out for some reason, and thankfully, Best Buy had another SSD on hand at their store pickup, to let me replace the broken part and have my computer back up and running in the same day.
