I purchased the Samsung NVMe SSD 2TB from Best Buy and I am very satisfied with the experience. The delivery was fast and the packaging was secure. Installation was simple and the drive was recognized immediately. Everything works perfectly and the performance is excellent. Speeds are fast enough for both large files and quick system boot times. This is a great SSD and I’m happy with my purchase. I definitely recommend both the product and the store.

For the price of $119.99, it was a bargain deal, especially for more storage expansion. With Gen 5 NVMe's out (although I would not get them at all, they are much too expensive and run way too hot), the prices will continue to fall on the higher-end models. I would recommend this product at this level of discount for anyone who is looking for more space on their PC or PS5 assuming you have the cooler as well.

Just picked up a second one after a great experience with the first! I wanted some extra space for games and was waiting to see how the first one held up. I saw some people reporting issues with temps, reliability, and life expectancy; this seems to be a resolved issue with any of the more recently produced ones. Just grab the Samsung magician app for free to double check that it’s running the latest firmware, and it allows you to benchmark, check temps, and a lot more. If you’re looking for a fast and reliable, and reasonably priced nvme you can’t go wrong with this one.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Review for Samsung 990 Pro 2TB Internal SSD (PCIe Gen 4x4 NVMe)
“The Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD is an absolute beast when it comes to speed and performance. The read and write speeds are blazing fast, making boot times almost instantaneous and file transfers incredibly quick. Whether I’m gaming, editing large video files, or multitasking with heavy applications, everything runs smoothly without a hitch. The installation was a breeze, and Samsung’s Magician software makes monitoring performance easy. The SSD stays cool even under load, thanks to its efficient thermal control. If you’re looking for top-tier storage performance, the 990 Pro is hands down one of the best choices available!”

This is one of the top Nvme's you can buy, if you dont have a motherboard that gives you a heatsink cover for your nvme then get the version with a heatsink, especially depending on your airflow and the placement in the motherboard, these things can get fairly hot when copying a lot of files.
I have a 980 pro that I originally used as my System drive, the Samsung Magician application made it so so easy to make an exact duplicate of that drive straight to my 990pro, and then by changing the boot drive in the BIOS it booted up without one issue. I immediately formated the 980 pro and use it now for extra storage. And back to the heat issue, when making that copy from a 980 pro to the 990 pro (transferring almost 2TB, the drives will definitely get up in temperature, but again, depending on your configuration it will or won't be a problem. Just keep it in mind. If you don't know what happens when an nvme starts to overheat, it'll temporarily drastically lower it's performance, and like with all electronics more heat exposure overtime shortens the life of the electronic.
Also, make sure you install Samsung Magician regardless, at least at first/temporarily, because your 990 pro may need a firmware update that might be quite necessary to avoid issues down the road.

Absolutely love how fast this SSD is. Had to get a new drive due to two of mine failing and needed a replacement. Got this on sale and I absolutely love it. Fast, reliable and most importantly, a fair price.

The Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD has been a fantastic upgrade, delivering the superfast speeds I crave, especially for gaming. The lightning-quick load times and file transfers have noticeably improved my experience. What truly stands out is its seamless compatibility with my PS5; installation was simple, and the expanded storage allows me to keep my entire game library readily accessible. If you're a PS5 owner looking for a significant performance and storage boost, this M.2 SSD is an excellent choice.

I've only had this for about a month, but it's been running wonderfully. My past experience with Samsung SSDs has been excellent in regards to reliability. I anticipate the same with this one.
Also, it's simply plug-in-play. I'm using it as a boot drive, and the initial installation went as smoothly as possible.
The speeds are comparable to advertised. Windows 11 Pro loads quickly. Pretty much all app are near instantaneous. If you've never tried an NVMe drive, this is a great one to step into that world with.

There is an unwritten law that says, 'work will grow to fill whatever time you have to do it.' I'd say the same is true of data files and memory. Get a 16 terabyte solid state disk and some day, you'll be looking for more. If I were emperor, everyone would be limited to one terabyte. That's it. Delete your old 96 bps music files that you downloaded back in the day and pick one of your 20 almost identical pictures and be done with it. Seriously, you kids don't know how good you have it. When I was young, we had 12, maybe 24 shots per roll of film. That's it! And we had to wait weeks to see if they even came out. Forget taking videos, let alone videos with sound! We had to be selective with our shots and what we kept. You think book shelves to fill with photo albums are just everywhere? Heck, my father in law likes to show off his 20 gorgeous wildlife photos. He only had to take over 2,000 to get those 20. In one trip! He does this all-the-time! He's uses up more disk space in RAW photos he'll never use than installs of Cyber Punk, Crysis, and all versions of Medal of Honor, combined! Ansel Adams is turning over in his grave. He's yelling from beyond "Are you freaking kidding me! How many shots do you think I took to get 'Yosemite Valley'? One! And you guys are taking multiple pictures of your casual dining chicken tenders!? Just bury me deeper, please!"
Anyway, thank god we have quality solid state drives like the SMSNG 990Pro to store all the monuments to life in the early 21'st century. It's reliable storage and speedy read/write will ensure that no one needs to wait an extra millisecond to see 50 versions of the same cat photo. (aside: you see, he was looking slightly left there, and here down, I kept clicking until he finally just rolled over. But I saved them because I might use one some day. But yeah, they're all pretty awful). I opted for the 2 TB version to make sure that I had plenty of space to keep my novels that i'm writing. I have 20 that I've started, 10 are beyond chapter 1, and well, that's it. But you see, it doesn't matter! Because I have all the space I need to completely hinder my kids and co workers with "He's no longer here, is any of this important? Who wants to go through it all? No one? OK, just copy it over to our new 200 TB disks. We'll get to it someday".
God help us all.

Built for speed and that’s exactly what it does. Downloading/ transferring data is a breeze with the newer M.2 models Samsung has recently dropped. Managed to get this one during a sale and glad I spent the extra money to get the additional storage. Set up is a breeze. This was an easy decision.

This SSD is an absolute game-changer! I use it for both heavy 3D projects and gaming, and the speed boost is insane. Load times are practically nonexistent, and working with large 3D files feels buttery smooth—no more frustrating lag or slow renders.
For gaming, everything loads instantly, from massive open-world titles to competitive shooters where every second counts. The Gen 4 speeds make a noticeable difference, and the reliability of Samsung SSDs gives me peace of mind. If you're into high-performance workloads or gaming, this is a must-have upgrade!

I purchased this drive for a computer I purchased in 2016. The original SSD was a 2.5" drive and had a very small capacity, so I was stuck managing files very closely. This drive gives me more space and better performance, extending the life of my PC. The installation was easy, but I needed special software to clone my OS to the drive.
My only issue was with BestBuy, not the drive. I tried to purchase the drive in store, but after twenty minutes of searching, the person helping me could not find the drive - even though the website said they had a few in stock. I had to order it for pickup, and magically it was available in an hour. This caused multiple trips to the store instead of one and I would have been better off just ordering and having it delivered to my house.

Very high quality and fast NVME. I’ve have used Samsung ssds in my last three pc builds. I have had the Samsung Evo 850’s, 980 pros, and now the 990 pro. I have never been disappointed with the speed and dependability of these SSD’s. Plus, I got it at a great price. My PC boots, lightning fast, and my games and apps run great. I have a 1tb and a 2tb and I can’t recommend the 990 enough.

The Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to storage performance. With its PCIe Gen 4x4 NVMe interface, this SSD delivers lightning-fast read and write speeds, making it perfect for gaming, content creation, and any task that demands quick data access. I noticed a significant improvement in boot times, file transfers, and overall system responsiveness after installing it.
The installation was straightforward, and Samsung’s Magician software makes it easy to manage the drive, check health status, and optimize performance. The 990 Pro also runs cool, thanks to its efficient thermal design, which keeps temperatures in check even under heavy loads. It’s a bit on the pricier side compared to other SSDs, but the speed, reliability, and top-tier performance make it a worthwhile investment for anyone needing high-speed storage.

Super fast! Fairly easy to install - the only hard part is finding the tiny socket on the motherboard. When you find that, it slides right in and clicks down. The package doesn't include the little hold-down screw, but my motherboard (Lenovo tower) had the screw pre-installed. Windows 11 recognizes it (you need to go to the Control Panel, Disk Management applet to set it up, but it's already there and ready to do.) Once defined it works flawlessly -- at least so far. I'm very happy with this installation!

This is one of the most realiable and fastest 4th gen drives you can buy and when on sale for 130 its cheaper than the 980 pro! Temps are great too, my only suggestion is to update the firmware with samsung magican, it will not only bump speed a bit but also stop the very early on drive problems.
