Impressively capable washing machine with one flaw

I've had the unit for one month. Incredible capacity, it tackles massive loads of clothes with aplomb. It operates quietly and quickly. I am measuring kWh consumption with a Kill-A-Watt and it has not shown anything to worry about yet. The one flaw I quickly discovered is with adding detergent/softener, which is done via a tray that pulls towards you from the back of the washing machine. It's quite difficult to get detergent/softener into it, because the tray doesn't pop out that far and is somewhat obscured by the "sink" (which cannot be removed). If you are using a large container of detergent it isn't easy to get the position right, or you risk spilling and wasting it. Aside from this, I've been delighted by the machine, and am happy to work around that flaw - wouldn't want to risk switching to something else! (the other aspects of the machine are too cool to do without)

First off this washer was purchased to replace a previous Samsung top load washer that was recalled. I got this one and upgraded to the larger tub, rinse basin and steam feature. It has been running almost nonstop since I got it. I love it! The tub is so deep you almost need a step stool to reach the bottom. It is very quiet and does a great job. I'm happy.

I was so happy to get my new set., I thought I give them a chance to figure them out., diffenatly to hard to get the clothes out you seriously need one of those long clamps to get your clothes. There is so many things I don't like about both of the machines I'm not trying to go there believe me when you get them you will see for yourself.,like me I waited over my 14 days to return them I tried to like them both from the reviews I read and thought I needed to get used them takes forever to wash and uses so much water its crazy energy efficient .,yeah right Money pit machines

    Samsung Let Us Down

We’re currently on our third lid and it’s also broken. First lid replaced at no cost. Second lid, Samsung sent parts for free to service company that charged me $200 for 15 minute install. 3rd lid paid $200 and and $200 install. 3 years into this thing and have spent $600 plus on it. Samsung will not help, they must know these lids are an issues because they’ve changed the design on the new ones. I’m sad and glad at the same time to see pictures that look just like mine. I’ve been a Samsung fan for years, from tvs to phones to appliances. Never again, the customer service is horrible and I shouldn’t be paying a dime for their design flaw. Very disappointed.

    Wonderful washer for the tall

I am very, very pleased with my new Samsung washer. It has a huge variety of cycles and seems to be extremely water-efficient. The "sink" feature is novel and handy for clothes requiring a little pre-wash TLC. The capacity of the washer tub is amazing. The machine is relatively quiet and does not vibrate excessively like some others do. So far as I'm concerned, this washer is the end-all be-all of washers, and I hope it proves to be as reliable as it is feature-laden. Now the bad news, for the height-challenged... The wash tub is extremely deep. So deep, that if you aren't very tall or have short arms, you are not going to be able to reach things at the bottom of the tub, especially toward the back, without leaning on the washer, and I've read complaints from people that they have dented the machine that way. I'd say this machIne is not a good choice is you're shorter than, perhaps, 5'7" or so, but the only way to be sure would be to check it out in person at your Best Buy store. And if you have clothes in the back of the tub that you can't reach easily, simply rotate the tub so they're in front and reachable, rather than risking cosmetic damage to the machine by balancing your body weight on the machine to try to reach the back. FYI, I'm 5'10" and have no problem reaching into the deep tub, so for me, it's definitely a pro and not a con. But I can definitely see that it would be a problem for someone several inches shorter. (My partner, who is 5'4", can't reach the bottom of the tub, for example.)

    Clean Clothes!

We had to buy a new washer and dryer because the front loaders we purchased in 2010 were terrible. We just wanted to find something that cleaned the clothes well and didn't leave clothes smelling even after extra rinsing, scent boosters, baking soda, etc. I'm happy to say that this washer has been amazing so far! Our clothes seem very clean, and the extra capacity has significantly cut down on the amount of time I spend doing laundry. I have used many of the features and have zero complaints so far. The water level is automatically set by the machine, and it has always been high enough to cover the clothes regardless of load size. According to consumer magazine reviews, HE top loaders tend to be less gentle on clothes than front loaders. I agree that seems to be the case with this unit, but the cleanliness of the clothes outweighs that very small con. A common complaint I read is that the tub is very deep and hard to reach clothes on the bottom. True. But I knew that before I purchased the unit and it doesn't bother me. I'm 5'7" and can reach the bottom if I stand on my tiptoes. Again, a small con for the cleanliness of the clothes washed in this machine. I have used the activewash sink feature a few times, but I honestly could have lived without it. I would have bought the model without the sink, but this model was actually significantly less due to a special promotion at the time I purchased it. The platinum color of the unit is beautiful. It does show dust and pet hair more than white does, but nothing a soft cloth every few days can't remedy. All in all, a good purchase so far and absolutely no problems!

It happened today all of a sudden, we were in living room and heard some strange noise from laundry room and as soon as we saw the washer lid glass was shattered by itself. We were shocked to see how could it happen by itself. Luckily no one was there in that room at that time. Now dealing with Samsung customer care for the lid replacement.

Well so far so good!! We love this washing machine! Very very large capacity but I would be careful of over loading. The machine is very quiet and cleans very well. The tub is very deep and can make it sort of hard to reach clothes at the bottom if you are on the shorter side. Definitely a better machine than our kenmore elite oasis that didn't last 6 years.

    Great top-loading washer!

Our Whirlpool washer finally broke down after 15 years. We preferred top-loading washers, and we narrowed down to either LG or Samsung. Frankly they were mostly the same, but we chose Samsung since it was a newer model and there was a promotion. A week later Lowes had better prices, we called for a price adjustment and Best Buy accepted and processed our request without any hassles. So far it is running good. Much quieter, and uses less water too with bigger capacity then our old washer and it is just slight taller than the old washer. Quite happy about it!

    Great family washer

The tub is huge!!! I'm a standard 5'7 female and I have to be on my tip toes to get items from the bottom. I don't mind, but for shorter people a step stool will be needed. The bin is a bit larger than what we need right now (only two of us), but it will be perfect once our family grows. I absolutely love the wash bin. I don't have a utility sink so this works fantastic for rinsing my husband's tennis hats and items that need hand washing. The tub automatically drains any excess water when it powers down so there is never any standing water at the bottom. It has a great tune to notify you when the cycle is complete rather than an annoying buzz. Typical load takes about 1-1.5 hours with fabric softener. This is 2-3 times longer than standard washers, but its to be expected with high efficiency products. I have not been disappointed with the cleanliness of any load or the performance of the washer itself. Fantastic buy! The only reason this product got a 4 instead of a 5 is because the cap at the bottom of the tub broke off during cleaning. This leaves the bolt exposed and one of my sheets got caught on it and ripped. Samsung does offer a 3 years warranty on all tub parts, so i will get a new one to cover it. I understand that this part isn't glued, screwed, nailed or permanently fixed to the tub, so i expect that its could pop off at some point. However, i have only had the washer for a few weeks so i didn't expect it to be this soon.

When my washer finally died after 15 years of faithful service I knew that I wanted something with more capacity. This washer definitely fits the bill. We normally have 12-15 loads of wash per week. Now I do about 6 loads. What once took all weekend (Friday evening through Sunday), now takes a half day. Yes, the wash tub is really, really deep. A stool or enlisting the help of my teenage son fixes that problem. The tub is great for pretreating and soaking. The song it plays at the end of a cycle is cute. After a full month of testing this out and washing nearly everything we own, I am completely satisfied.

WHEN MY OLD WASHER STARTED FLASHING ODD READINGS I KNEW IT WAS TIME TO RESEARCH A NEW ONE. I RESEARCHED TONS OF SITES AND NARROWED IT DOWN TO THE LG AND THE SAMSUNG. THE SAMSUNG WARRANTY IS BETTER AND COVERS MORE LATER ON. THIS WASHER DOES EVERYTHING AND HAS 15 CYCLES VERY EASY TO OPERATE AND SELECT THE PROPER SETTINGS. I HAVEN'T USED THE ATTACHED SINK FEATURE AS OF YET. I LOVE THE STEAM SETTING ON GRASS STAINS. THE PROS: IT HOLDS 20 PAIRS, I'VE PUT IN 12 PAIR OF JEANS IN ONE LOAD ALL COMING OUT CLEAN AND STAIN FREE, EASY SETTINGS. THIS ONE HAS THE FABRIC SOFTENER, BLEACH AND DETERGENT BINS. CONS: I (I'M 5'7) AND NEED TO STAND ON A STEP STOOL TO REACH THE BOTTOM OF THE TUB, AND THIS MODEL DIDN'T HAVE THE TANK WHERE YOU FILL IT WITH A BOTTLE OF DETERGENT, SO I FILL EACH LOAD NO BIGGY

This washer is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but before you buy, make sure you're at least 6 feet tall! Trying to get socks out of the bottom of the drum is a chore for those of us less than 6 feet tall, but a small stool is all you'll need. This thing can wash a king sized comforter with ease and the steam sanitize with deep clean is by far my favorite setting. And the sink! It has a built in sink! In short, you can't go wrong with this unit.

Needed to replace a dead washer, so a little research suggested this was a great washer. Seems to be! Mrs loves it, capacity makes her happy as all of our laundry can be done in one of each type of load (she does this weird laundry sorting thing). She loves the sanitizing cycle, says my skivvies come out cleaner...that might be important I guess. Her only complaint is that she has to stand on her tiptoes to reach the Bottom of the tub. I tell her it's good exercise. She says I'm number one, I guess that's what she's signaling. Anyway, it's all good!

After owning the top of the line front load washer/dryer combo... one of them failed and it was time to replace them both. We were never satisfied with the wash quality (clean) nor with the noise levels and wanted to be SURE the technology we invested in was truly something that did what it was supposed to do. After some weeks and an entire house of laundry CLEAN - I can tell you I rave about this washer/dryer combo!!! The only drawback is as tall as I am, I still have issues reaching the bottom of the drum, but an inexpensive set of tongs fixed that right up! I now have clothes I was ready to throw out due to stains - hanging in my closet! This washer can run complex loads or can be simplified by keeping your favorite settings in a one button selection on the screen!! No more explaining to hubby how to set the dial for my special clothes - all he has to do is push one button!! WONDERFUL!

This is a very good machine. I love the amount of clothes that will fit in this machine. With a family of 6 we do a lot of laundry and it has cut the amount of loads that we have to do each week by about half from what we used to do with our smaller machine. I also like that it can do larger items like comforters. My husband's shirts got a bit wrinkly because we set the spin too fast. We just have to get used to the settings.

I was worried about going back to a top load after having a front load but it has not been a problem other than I have a hard time reaching items in the bottom, it is a very deep washer. I love that it holds and handles large loads and I have not had any problems with it getting out of balance. I love that it has an option to save your favorite setting, I use that for my three teenage boys. All they have to do is throw their clothes in, put in the detergent, power it on and hit that button. :)
