Very bad experience
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very bad experience with Best Buy ordering this product. It arrived damaged and they supposed to scheldue return and new order. Instead they scheldue just return and refund. The product was on sale so I could not get it again for the same price. The first agent handling the return told me I will have a new product coming when they will pick up the return

Good quality.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good quality. Lightweight and powerful. 14” version is the better deal. 16” has better resolution, but form factor is too large (for backpacks and HS student).

Copilot+ PC with none of the Compatibility Issues
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing I noticed about this Copilot + PC compared to the first round of ones I have tried is that the battery life is nowhere near as long and that is the only Con. The Pros include no software compatibility / driver issues whatsoever. Also, the processing power and the display put the ARM powered Copilot + PCs to shame. The weight is also hardly noticeably heaver, so it's very portable, take anywhere device, just need to have a capable USB C power source to keep it going after 5 or so hours depending on what you are doing with it. You can actually play a simple computer game on this laptop and they most all run very well with no work arounds needed. Copilot + has matured alot in the last 6 to 8 months and is far easier to use and be productive with, but that is not inherent with just this laptop, but the service in general. But its a good time to start using it for more than just AI assisted art and graphic design now. The display is very good looking, and with the right media shows off that beautiful OLED liquid look. I would recommend for a take everywhere, do almost everything Language Learning Model laptop that has a great display in a compact form factor.

Nice, small and lightweight
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I usually like to stick to 16 and 17 inch sized laptops that have gpu cards to run my games. I took a chance on this 14 inch Samsung to see what the AI and Co-pilot hype was all about. Like the title says, this is a very light weight and small form factor laptop that should do anything you need it to do, outside of medium to heavy gaming. Charging it up on a 100 watt brick and aftermarket 100 watt USB-C cord, the laptop had no issues charging up in a couple of hours. The light on the side tells you when it is ready. Getting started is just like every other windows laptop. Screen is nice and vibrant and I am familiar with all the settings due to having a Samsung phone. WIFI is fast and connects with zero issues. Backlit keyboard is a nice feature and the keys are nice a smooth. AI seems to work similar to my phone, which I like, not intrusive. Basic games run well. After the first major updates, I noticed that this laptop synced with my normal laptop and I had all my files and pictures. Overall, very nice laptop, travels well, easy to charge and performs without a hitch. Well done

A perfectly acceptable laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll admit, I'm a bit of a fuddy-duddy when it comes to AI-related things. Don't worry, I'm not one of those AI-deniers or anything, but the sheer volume of products being marketed with AI features that are largely tied to software (read: "limited by" software) is becoming somewhat tiring. That's where Copilot lands for me for now, because I've not found a great use for it in the personal computing space. And I also wonder, what even is a competitive price for a lightweight, capable laptop with acceptable all around performance and also happens to look great? I remember when I first started working in IT, many of my friends and family came to me asking for the 'best laptop under $500,' and while even back then it was a ridiculous notion, as time has gone on, I wonder if $1000 is the new baseline price for a laptop in 2025. The Galaxy Book5 Pro comes in at $1349, right in that sweet spot between $1000-$1500. The body reminds me a lot of the M1 Macbook Air, a sort of wedge becoming slimmer near the touchpad. It has a 14" AMOLED touch screen (I don't care much for touch screens, for what its worth) and the 'chin' area of the display is a little larger than I tend to like…but not so big that it's overly unsightly. I don't think it will age well, though. With 16GB of memory and an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, it's plenty fast enough for 2025…but I can't help but wonder if a 32GB model might be better suited for long-term purchases. I'm a big time Apple fanboy, but I have to admit, between the looks and performance of this laptop, I'm impressed. I still don't particularly love Windows 11, but I recognize that it's just part of the package and not really something to reflect negatively on Samsung's hardware. This configuration runs W11 without issue. Here's a weird nitpick: I think that rounded-corner screens are becoming more common, but sometimes they can be a little weird in the corners. For instance, in the writing app Craft, the logo in the upper right of the menu bar is cut off a little, and the Minimize/Maximize/Close buttons appear too close to the top bezel. Of course this is one app, and not necessarily indicative of anything necessarily wrong, but it's hard to not see it--and not look for it--with every application (Craft isn't the only one, just one I use a lot). The display is otherwise great with a 3K resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio, and gets plenty bright when needed. It also supports 120Hz refresh which makes browsing the web a joy. Port selection is sufficient, with two Thunderbolt 4, a USB Type-A, headphone jack and HDMI 2.1 outputs. The included charger pushes 65W to the device's 63Wh battery; battery life has been totally sufficient for a 'everyday' laptop like this. As previously stated, I'm an Apple fanboy, and because I recognize the beauty of a laptop and phone that work in concert, I am a little sad I don't have a Galaxy phone to test with this laptop, as I imagine that would fill in some missing pieces for me when it comes to productivity. The Galaxy devices have always been at their worst 'better than average,' so I would imagine the two together would be a great experience (even more so if you live in the Samsung ecosystem, generally speaking). So yeah, it's a perfectly usable, nice, simple package. It looks good, the input experience via keyboard and touchpad are great, and the display is great in any setting. The speakers are not so great, but perfectly usable in a pinch (you'd probably want to stick to some kind of headphones or earbuds). All in all, not a bad product for the $1349 price tag. It's worth noting, this configuration is the entry level, Samsung offering additional storage capacity (from the 512GB base) and RAM, along with a 16" screen option, for additional cost. And maybe someday, I'll figure out a useful way to incorporate the Copilot key into my workflow.

Great, lightweight laptop for work, travel, & home
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using this laptop for a little over a week and I am impressed overall. This is truly an amazing thin and light laptop (2.7lbs), which in my opinion rivals thin and light notebooks from another "fruit" company. My initial overall impression of the construction of the notebook is very positive. The backlit keyboard illuminates well in lower light situations and the half-height function keys are easily accessible. Typing on the unit feels good, with just the right amount of pressure required. The mousepad works well and is very responsive. Probably the most noteable achievement on this unit is the beautiful AMOLED 14" screen, that is bright, looks great in SDR or HDR and operates at 120hz on what is essentially a 3K screen. Coming from a 60Hz laptop, I appreciate the smoothness and for whatever reason, this display at 120hz feels better to work on for longer periods of time. The Intel processor is snappy, able to keep up with multiple tasks that I threw at it, including Office Tasks, some small video editing, and casual gaming. This is not a gaming laptop, but with the Arc graphics included, you can easily do some casual and light gaming activities with this unit, though I would not expect AAA titles to run all that well. Port wise, it includes a full HDMI 2.1 port, 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-A port, and a micro-SD slot. I would have preferred an additional USB-A or C port in place of the micro-SD slot, but that is just personal opinion. I utilize both of these when I take the laptop to the office to connect a headset and connect the Thunderbolt 4 port to a hub in the office that connects an external monitor, Ethernet networking, and power over one cable. Battery life is great. I can easily get over 10+ hours of battery life and I can probably get more if I lowered the brightness and reduced the refresh rate of the display. I do have a Wi-fi 7 router and this comes with Wi-fi 7 built in, and it works great, but I do not really notice much of a difference between it and Wi-fi 6 or 6e. And for what it's work, I continue to prefer being hard wired for the reliability of the connection when either working from home or being in the office. Only a few nitpicks I have with the unit. The integrated webcam is ok, but works better in bright rooms than in slightly dimmer locations. I only use it for Teams meetings, so it's not a deal breaker. There is no privacy switch on the camera, which is a bit annoying. So a piece of tape will have to do. I personally have not found a use in my workflow that tests the NPU in the unit for it's AI capabilities, though I expect this will change as more software is written to take advantage of it. Finally, there is the software that comes pre-installed. I'm not fan of bloatware, and the unit comes pre-installed with a number of Samsung apps and a trial antivirus subscription (which can be uninstalled). I'm personally not well integrated into the Samsung ecosystem aside from a television, so I don't have much use for the apps that I can see. I'll be uninstalling what I don't need and would prefer that laptops didn't come with many of these. The good news though is that while they are installed, very few appear to run in background or at start, so you need to want to use many of them... meaning they don't get in the way. Overall, this is a great laptop that is well constructed and feature rich for a thin and light. I would definitely recommend this for a college student, a frequent traveler, or someone that is in the market for a thin and light.
