I really am pleased with this phone. It is my first smart phone so I was a little skeptical, but it is very easy to use. The only disappointing thing is the wireless charger that was a part of the deal is worthless. The charging function keeps turning itself off. I attempted to charge the phone which was at 18% last night and left it on the wireless charger all night. It was only charged up to 31% after 8 hours. For whatever reason, it turns off and you need to keep taking it off the pad and placing it back on, so what's the point???

I was going to buy Glaxy S7, but when i saw th Note 5‘s screen is big and the picture quality came out really good I decided to get Note 5. Most of my families are using iphone, but when i show them how the picture come out from this phone, now they only want use my phone to take picture. the rest future of the phone is similar to other phone, but the picture quality really stand out than any other phone.

Let me preface this review by saying I am a device and tech hound. I am coming from a perfectly good Galaxy S5 and choose to pay full price for an upgrade. It was worth every penny and don't regret the decision one bit.
The first thing that grabs you about this phone is the awesome build quality of the phone. This is a first rate device no question. As good as anything the boys from Cupertino can put out. The phone is sleek and has a super high quality feeling in your hand. Not that the S5 was bad but this is like comparing a Toyota to Lexus in terms of materials and fit/finish. As an iPad Air 2 owner I can say this device has a feel just as premium if not more so. The stylus clicks into place with a satisfying sound as well and functions well even though I use an Otterbox. The wireless charging feature also works fine through the Otterbox.
Performance, this thing is a beast. Eight cores, 4 GB of ram as much as my 3 year old HP Elitebook might I add. A screen resolution so crisp and clear the colors literally jump out at you. The ability to multi task and run several apps at once is incredible. It blows the doors off the S5 in every performance measure and packs a nice large screen in a relatively small package. I love the 5.7 inch screen size and is notably bigger than the 5.1 on my S5. I considered other 5.5 plus inch phones but kept coming back to the balance of performance and size of the Note 5. If you are on the fence between a small tablet or a large phone this phone is a good compromise. Camera performance is remarkable and the image stabilization is noticeable. Haven't gotten a chance to use the raw mode yet but this is another great feature putting it light years ahead of the competition. The best camera is the one you have on you. This might just be the best one period certainly as good as standard compact digital cameras under 200 dollars. Not as good as a larger sensor enthusiast grade compact or DSLR but impressive in its own right and better than many of the affordable entry level digital cameras today.
Performance as phone is excellent too, who would have thought that is what a smart phone is first and foremost a phone. Texting is also a breeze with the built in Samsung messaging app. Speaker phone is appropriately loud as well.
Lastly to address the 500 lb elephant in the room is the lack of an SD card and removable battery, I was one of the people morning the loss but thanks to excellent battery performance and the awesome build quality it can be overlooked. Plus with the new USB OTG flash drives you can easily save and back up/transfer information. Thus I was able to go with a pearl white 32 GB model which will be more than enough for me.
I considered a wide variety of Android and even the iPhone 6 Plus but nothing came close to the balance of performance and value to what the new Note 5 offers. As of fall 2015 this is the phone that sets the standard and an awesome stylus to jot notes down is a bonus.

Okay, so this phone is awesome yet disappointing at the same time. If Samsung kept a few things from previous models I'd be okay if this was the last phone I bought for the rest of my life. This phone has superior performance and battery life, the screen size is great and the S pen features are unmatched. Unfortunately, I wish Samsung included a removable battery, SD card slot, and IR emitter. These were all present in previous models and I greatly miss them. The only other downside is the random screen freezing, I don't know the cause of this as I constantly close apps and kill the processes, plus I've yet to use even half the memory. Overall a superb product that could've still been better.

Had the note 2 prior to this, so this was a great upgrade for me. Very fast and excellent camera quality. I was looking for speed, good camera, and screen size, and this phone fit the bill (plus it was on sale for $100 when I got it). The added features as compared to the note 2 are pretty good.
My favorite features:
- If your phone is locked and you take out the stylus, and you write a quick note on the screen and save.
- unlock the phone using your finger print
- get to camera quickly (double click on home screen)
- takes really good quality pictures
- selfie photoshot: you can hold the phone out in front of you and the phone will take the picture without you have to click anything
Downsides:
- no mircosd slot, so can't add memory
- no removeable back (when my note 2 started acting up, the only way I could reset it was literally taking out the battery...not sure what my fallback would be for this phone if I ever needed to do a force shut down...)
Summary: good phone for someone not looking for all the bells and whistles, just needs the phone to work fast, but does include some really nice features and perks that give it that little extra something something.

I did reviews online before going with the Note 5. I like the large screen and the resolution and camera is awesome! Easy to use and I still have not learned all the different things I can do with it. I love being able to pull out the stylus and write on the screen without even turning on the phone and then save it or delete. I love the wireless charging and can put my phone on it during the day and it's ready to go for another day or so. good battery life!

Best smartphone of the year!

Samsung did it again! The smartphone of the year!
Coming from a Note 3 with 32 GB memory, this Note 5 is just as great as the 3 but with a better built frame and body, faster internals and a outstanding 2-K resolution screen!
I got the Platinum Gold version which is just a beautiful piece of tech!
The aluminum body and frame is excellent, super sleek and sexy, makes the Note 3 look very outdated!
This metal frame design is going to last a lot longer than usual, not that the note 3 body did me wrong, but coming from plastic to metal makes a world of difference!
I love the "Corning Gorilla Glass 4" glass which is on the front and back, it seems to be really durable but also very smooth. Definitely a finger print magnet! A good phone case is needed for protection and safety!
The screen is a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors, with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.
2-K on a 5.7 screen makes everything sharper and define, 1440 x 2560 pixels (~518 ppi pixel density).
As a photographer, that 2-K resolution comes in handy when viewing photos through my phone and it is super superb!! Beautiful screen, just make sure to take care and not set the brightness too high for too long as it might cause permanent or temporary image retention.
A lot of people have chosen not to buy this device because of it not having expandable memory or even battery access. I didn't find that to be a problem for me. I had my Note 3 for 2 years and I've never had to change the battery, the battery memory was really good and still works great till this day!
I don't load up my phone with lots and lots of media data, so 32 GB's is perfect.
This Note 5 looks better than the Apple iPhone 6+, screen is one of the best around and again beats the iPhone's screen leaps and bounds!
The OS system runs ultra smooth!
OS: Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop).
Chipset: Exynos 7420 Octa.
CPU: Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2.1.0 GHz Cortex-A57.
GPU: Mali-T760MP8.
Primary camera: 16 MP, f/1.9, 28mm, OIS, autofocus, LED flash, 1/2.6" sensor size, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama, HDR.
Secondary camera: 5 MP, f/1.9, 22mm, 1440p@30fps, dual video call, Auto HDR.
Video: 2160p@30fps, 1080p@60fps, dual-video rec.
I'll be with Samsung for a longtime!
Definitely recommended!
I will update again when needed!

This phone is great fun to use. So many features, and I'm sure there are way more I haven't found. I found it easy to figure out how to use the features. The screen quality is awesome: bright, clear, and vivid. Phone is light weight, easy to hold, slim, and the screen size is very nice for easy viewing. The literature claims you can download apps to watch shows and movies, but unless you're desperate, I wouldn't bother. It's a phone screen, after all, about 4 inches long. Not ideal for watching a show! But for viewing texts or quick look-ups on the internet, it's a good size. I especially like the app that lets me buy different wallpaper themes. The Halloween one was great.

I've had HTC phones since my entry into the smartphone world. My first was the Incredible 2, DNA, One M7, One M8, and the One M9. I returned the HTC One M9 and switched back to my One M8 because overall, the M8 was a better phone, better battery life, and had better speakers, in my opinion. I decided it was time for an upgrade and chose the Samsung Note 5.
Pros:
-Good battery life, will last me all day with my moderate usage. Average around 3 to 4 hours of screen on time. Play a few games, look up information on the web, stalk on Facebook, check email, text, call, and other random stuff.
-Great camera. Don't take pictures all the time but when I do, pictures are good. But sometimes, the picture DOES turn out bad. Only sometimes. Lol.
-Smooth and laggy-free most of the time. Very very few times has the phone lagged or slowed down on me. I do once every few days restart my phone but its a normal thing for me.
-DOES NOT GET HOT. Like every phone, it does get warm but only if you're on it for a long period of time. ALL the games I've played on the phone has not made it HOT at all. May get warm but it doesn't bother me because it warming up is normal.
-Charges fast with the fast charger adapter. I like it a lot but I'm not sure if that's good for the battery in the long run.
-I can't think of any other PROs right now but the phone is generally GOOD. :)
CONS:
-BIGger than what I'd like but this is personal preference. At 5.7 inches, sometimes it is uncomfortable in my pants so I have to keep the phone in my back pocket or in my school backpack. Hard to hold one handed at well sometimes.
-Finger-print security scanner isn't that great. When it works, it works great. But too often have I tried to unlock my phone and my finger isn't unlocking my phone. No matter which angle I turn my finger, sometimes the scanner doesn't read it. Very very annoying!!!! Hopefully Samsung will give an update to improve finger-print reading capabilities.
-I'm used to the HTC volume settings where the ringtone and the notifications were all in one. If I lower my ringtone, then the notification tone would also lower. For the Note 5, ringtone and notification has their own level of sound and I HATE that. Integrating those two would make it easier. If I lowered my ringtone, wouldn't that imply I want my text, emails, and app notifications to also lower as well?! This is my personal preference but of everything about this phone, this is the ONLY thing I would change. Lol.
-The black sapphire is NOT BLACK AT ALL. It is a dark blue color. Extremely disappointing. I rather have a color black phone than a dark blue. Not ever has my phone looked black at all in any lighting conditions besides when I am laying in bed with the lights off. Lol. I bought this color because I prefer dark phones compared to white or other bright colors.
-With the phone being made of glass, it attracts finger prints like crazy! I couldn't find any screen protectors for the back of the phone. And when I did, it didn't cover all the way. Sucks.
-Putting a case on this phone makes it even bigger. Lol. Maybe I should have stuck to a 5in phone. Or switch the Apple? Hmm....I'll wait for the 7.
-Wireless charging works SOMETIMES. I've noticed that sometimes I put the phone on the wireless charger around 12am and when I wake up for school around 8:30am, the battery is around 95% charged. I'm like, WTH?!! So, I don't know what is up with the wireless charging but it works but it takes an extremely long time? There are also times when I laid it down to charge and it was charging. About 2 hours later when I come check on it, it stopped charging and it stays at the same battery percentage I had two hours ago. Frustrating. BUT a cool concept and marketing tool for Samsung to lure in existing and new customers. Lol. Not worth the purchase if you're wondering but it is cool to have! I got mine free so.....yeah. Lol.
-I'm sure I have a few more CONs but I can't think of any at the moment
Overall, this is a great phone. Is it worth upgrading from the Note 4? I do not know because I don't own one. Lol. Besides the bigger size that I am not used to and the ringtone/notification volumes, this phone is great. It meets my needs and wants for daily usage and entertainment. Speaker is loud but the quality is definitely NOT AS GOOD as the HTC One M8. I do miss the front-facing speakers. Hope this review helps out a little bit. This is my first Samsung device and I would recommend this phone BUT the build quality of HTC will always be better and the front-facing speakers are AWESOME! HTC fails at delivering to their customer's want and expectations but they also fail at realizing that fact. If they built a different phone and offered a few extra software enhancements or a better camera, I'd switch back in a heartbeat. Lol.
Toodles.....

Like many, was hesitant to switch to the Note 5 from the 4 due to the lack of removable battery and SD card slot. But, the upgrade bug bit me again, and having owned each of the Note phones in the series, I upgraded.
Phone is snappy, sleek, and attractive. I'm more of a fan of the black phones, but the sapphire is growing on me. Definitely a rich blue, not a black (despite the "black" in sapphire).
I have unlimited data, so the lack of SD card expansion doesn't mean much. Mainly stream music and transfer what few pics I take to cloud or my PC laptop.
All in all, a nice device. Feels a bit more like a premium smartphone.
Screen is brilliant.
Camera is solid.
Signal quality slightly better than the 4. Don't have dBm data to back that, but real world use allows me to feel confident saying/typing that.
Can't comment as to whether it's worth the upgrade from the Note 4 to the Note 5. I think if you're looking for the latest and greatest and can afford it, do it. However, if you are a heavy user with multiple batteries to get through the day, heavy picture taker or store a ton of media on your device and are happy with the Note 4, maybe hang on and see what's on the horizon.
Battery life is at least as good as my Note 4, if not better. Obviously can't switch out battery, but the fast charging is fast and the wireless charge w/out having to buy a new back is nice as well. I would say on a daily basis, overall, I get better battery life than my 4 (now that I really think about it).
Hopefully Samsung will still consider what sets them apart in the future and give its' faithful Android users the options they want or at least want the option to have, such as SD card expansion, removable batteries, etc. However, this is probably the wave of the future tied into company data tier plans, cloud storage, etc. Again, for me, it really boiled down to

I've had this phone less than a month, but so far, I really like it. It's easy to use and customize. It's pretty large, but it's not as heavy as it seems like it would be. I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't have an easily removable back or the option to add a micro-SD card, but honestly I didn't use up the on-board memory of my last phone so I probably won't on this one, either. It takes great photos and video, and so far works pretty fast. Favorite phone so far.

I've had my Samsung Note 5 for about two weeks now and so far my experience has been amazing. This phone is lightning fast and does everything so well.
The camera is amazing and takes quality pictures and video. The s pen has some really cool features and the screen is huge. Who needs a computer these days.
The only downfall is the battery life. When playing games or using data intensive apps it does seem to such the life out. The plus side is the phone charges so fast. So this really isn't such a big deal. I highly recommend this phone.

I have been using this phone over a month now and i can not believe this phones capability.
1. Real 4k screen that is MUCH MORE crisp over 6s.
2. Battery life that lasts all day and i am glued to the phone playing 4k utube vids. I have a hard time trying to drain the battery all the way. I have to really force myself to use all battery in one day. I still have to charge at around 30% after all day use.
3. Amazing speed compared to 6s. This thing opens and closes running more than 10 apps with a breeze. I really dont think many phones can do that.
4. Camera is world class. I have a hard time justifying using my gopro to record at 4k when this phone only does better.
5. Wireless charging. Need i say more? Just put it on top of charging pad and forget. I dont have to deal with the annoying charging cables anymore.
Many of my friends have iphone 6s and they are now considering switching. This phone does almost everything better and looks even more luxurious than the prev generations.
make sure to get clear protectors since u wanna show off how gorgeous this phone looks. I did not want to hide how good this phone looks by using a bulky phone covers.

I came from a note 2. This phone definitely feels better in your hand. The S pen works very well. I was a little concerned about battery life as it is even smaller than the one that was in my note 2, but i am easily able to get through the day with more than enough charge left. The screen looks great, and the camera is incredible for a cell phone camera. Overall very happy with this purchase. The only downside is the fact that the back is not removable, and the fact that they do not have expandable memory.

I am a freelance illustrator and bought this phone exclusively for its amazing stylus pen, which allows me to do life sketches wherever I am, whenever I find myself with a few minutes free. Unlike the stubby styluses that you can buy for any smartphone or tablet, the S Pen is sleek and graceful to use. Depending on the drawing app you use, the S Pen is able to recognize how much pressure you are applying while drawing, which gives a natural variation in line thickness that you would expect from various traditional pens or brushes. So far I have been happy to use the free S Note app that comes with the phone, as I am primarily interested in using my phone like a digital sketchbook, rather than trying to create professional artwork with it. As a result, my drawing skills have shown a noticeable improvement just in the short time I've had the phone since more practice equals greater improvement.
Other features of the phone are excellent as well. I love the larger screen, which makes having a tablet less interesting for me. The camera is awesome as well; my favorite feature is being able to take pictures with a voice command which is actually really handy.
