At first it took a little to get used to, after I had been using the Mega 5.8. It felt different in my hand but after learning about all it can do, I love it now. The color and the performance of the S 5 will keep me loving Samsung items a long time. Very happy with my purchase.

i love this phone so far. it's nice and big enough for my needs. i am also happy with my battery life. the only complaint i have is that some of the games that i love like Angry birds star wars 2 is refusing to install on my phone. I don't know why. Is it only my phone or is it all galaxy s 5? or is it just the unlocked version? I have no idea. the phone is very pricey if you buy the unlocked version like me. Carrier branded versions are much cheaper but they are bloated with carrier junk apps that you cannot uninstall unless root it.

I use this phone every day. I did have some trouble with it initially, so I ended up installing a new launcher (Nova). Now the phone works great. The Power Saver functionality is great! I ended up having a battery life of 4 days with it while traveling! That brings me to all those people saying it doesn't work internationally- it worked with a Singaporean SIM for me, so I'm not sure what's going on. I was able to place and receive calls just fine.
It only has 16GB storage, which is pretty bad. As in, really bad. The ability to add SD cards is awesome, but you still end up with only 16 GB for apps since not all apps can go on the SD card. In addition, the OS takes up a lot of space so you only have 12 GB free to use. I had to get a 64 GB SD card and put all my videos, images, music, books, etc on that. It's not a dealbreaker, but the limited space is definitely something worth considering when dropping major bucks on this device.
This phone has Kitkat right now (not a good thing, since Lollipop came out this month), but Samsung says we should get Lollipop in December. I don't know if that will happen- Samsung has delayed OS updates in the past, but we shall see! I do hope it gets the new OS. And a month and a half's delay isn't too bad, in my opinion.
Good things: power saver. Wow. Most of the time you don't need all the processing power of your device. While reading books, you don't even need all colors, so grayscale can be applied. That just saves so much battery, it's amazing. I wasn't a fan of Ultra Power Saver since it stops you from running most apps. But I guess if I have 10% battery left, it's better to turn that on and put the phone away.
SD Card slot: Yeah, I'm a huge fan of external SD cards. I mean... why wouldn't you want that? I just don't get why most phones are moving away from SD card slots. I'm just glad the S5 still has one.
Waterproof. Yeah, really. I dunked it in water once to show everyone it was waterproof. I've actually rinsed it because it had seawater on it. It's not usable underwater (the screen is capacitive and can't really take input underwater), but at least it's still usable after being dried off! just remember to seal the charging port before you dunk it in water!
However, I wouldn't recommend the S5 for everyone, just because of the storage issues, and the fact that the default launcher seems a bit too laggy. Once you install a new launcher, though, the phone really does shine!

I really like this phone. I haven’t had chance to unlock all the features. I took off 2 stars because several "MAJOR" flaws. Very short battery life, the piece covering the charging port is very difficult to remove in order to plug in charger. For ladies that get acrylic nail jobs you will need to always have a point abject available to remove port cover. Samsung needs to redesign the charge port cover with easier access for charging phone. the fingerprint scanner never works, the phone get hot when Im using apps. I not sure if this is normal but Samsung rep says I have too many apps open or the GPS app need to be off. My concern is I use GPS app when traveling and my phone may be damaged from the heat level. Also have some difficulties hooking up to my cars Bluetooth. It seems to disconnect & reconnect constantly however the car works fine with my iphone. also the call volume is not that great when using speaker

Unlocked S5's

Don't buy their unlocked non-carrier S5, has no LTE. Instead other sites sell the SM-900A,T, or F which generally work across most carriers but not 900H which their non-carrier S5's all are based on. Additionally it has a less supported CPU developed by Samsung called Exynos instead of Qualcomm Snapdragon so bad for custom rom AND widespread app support. Otherwise its a great model if you don't need LTE or widespread non-Samsung support.

This is the most powerful phone I have ever owned. The features like camera video & were outstanding. In addition to that, it is water resistant if you accidentally drop in the water like in the advertisement. I used H2O sim card & it works great on data, text, email, facebook, tweeter & so many to mentioned. I Love this Phone very much !!!

I had Samsung S3, S4 phone and really liked them all, so was looking forward for my new S5 phone. But I was able to use it for just one hour. Than, I started to see some error messages again and again. Went to best buy store- they had to reinstall it. But the issue appeared as soon as I got back home. Unfortunately, had to return it. re-ordered a replacement- and do hope it would turn out OK. Hope to update my ratings once I have a better user experience

BRAZILIANS DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

I'm a Brazilian and I bought this cellphone on September/14 when I was studying in US. The seller told me that it would work in Brazil because it was an unlocked cellphone. Half true. I can do calls but I can't send messages or use the Internet from my mobile operator: this cellphone configuration is different from Brazilian system, so you cannot use Internet from your operator, just wi fi. And today, the cellphone just stopped. The screen became black. It was working normally and now it stopped. I don't know what is happening and the worse part come now: there is no free assistance for this in Brazil. You have to pay to get support because American guarantee does not work in Brazil.

I must say this isn't that big of a upgrade compared to the S4, so if you have the S4 stick with it till they come up maybe with the S6. The few feature updates are not worth spending the money one. It is ually better to wait for two upgrades and then you will notice the difference.
