Overall this tablet is perfect for my husband and me. It's not too big, too heavy or too complicated to use. It was hard to find accessories for it when we got it, but that has nothing to do with the tablet's performance. Surely by now there's more stuff out there for it. It was easy for us to set up, easy to sync and add things from the computer and other devices. There's a micro SD card slot so that's nice if you want more storage. We were a little worried about the speakers being on the back, but that has proven to not be an issue. The speakers are clear and loud. The size is perfect and it's not too heavy to hold laying in bed if you want to read or something. The graphics are great and I haven't had an issue with it stalling to open a webpage or video. The only issue that we've had with it is sometimes it randomly stalls on the lock screen when we're trying to unlock it. It's not that big of a deal, we just have to hit the power button to turn it all the way off then start over again. Only takes about a second to do and we're not sure why it randomly doesn't respond to our stylus or fingertip to unlock it like that every now and then, but it's noticeable. It seems to only happen on the lock screen.

This is my first tablet and my toddler has full use of this. Video's load quickly, pictures come out crisp and clean, eBooks are easy to ready and this is the perfect size. I love how it fits perfectly into my purse. The battery life on this is great!!! It lasts for about 5 to 6 hours on a single charge using it continuously. The camera is easy to use and I love the fact that you can make post it notes on here as well. I plan on using this a lot once school starts. I have to say I am happy that I bought this tablet, my kid has dropped it a few times and works like a charm. You will most definitely get the most for your money buying this tablet. Samsung has done it again, this is way better than the tab 2! This is money well spent. The entire family uses this alot. The picture that is included in the review is a picture I randomly took with this tablet. It takes wonderful pictures.

This android tablet is great for every use a tablet can have, I can even use it as my tv remote with the built-in ir blaster. The 8-inch screen is perfect for me and any other user who borrows it like my little coiusins. It is easy to handle and read with one hand because it is not a large tablet like most others out there. the android version installed is very simple to use and integrate into your daily life. If you alrady have an android phone, you can easily syncronize the galaxy tab 3 to view your email and other applications. I am very happy with it and it does have a slot for a micro SD card up to 64GB to store music/pictures and more. It doesnt have any usb ports as it is to slim to have any but the sd card slot makes up for it. the front and back facing cameras also help you capture your favorite moments with clear resolution. I use it for amlost everything from hw to reading to gaming to streaming music and sometimes even videochats and only charge it about once every two days. I find the tablet to be responsive and often times even faster than my android phone. I definitly recoment it to everyone.

The Galexy has excellent screen quality. It is small enough to carry around and yet has good screen size, very light weight. Excellent camera and camera features. Power saver feature is good and the battery life is also good. the "eye" recognition feature is excellent. Screen movement and feature activation requires only a light touch making the device easy to use. I have Samsung smart phone, laptop computer and television as well as this device and all have performed very well. I would recommend this device as well as all the Samsung devices I own to anyone.

After looking at scores of tablets over the years, I took the plunge and bought this Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.0 8" (and isn't that a mouthful) tablet. The screen is gorgeous. The tablet feels rock solid (and I have dropped it a couple times with a cover on). It is not so small that you might as well be using your phone, nor is it so big that it becomes difficult to hold and use a the same time. Having said all that, a couple of thoughts. The IR Blaster may or may not be a good idea, but I have never used it. I have a number of devices, each with a remote, and I don't think this one device would replace them all. If all you have is a tv, it may work great for you. The television schedule program included with the device is nice for day to day usage, but does not help me. I need to see what will be coming up days in advance. Luckily, this is an Android device and I could find just the right app for me. The biggest complaint I have is that even now, months after the release, you cannot get a cover made for this device. They have covers for the 7 inchers and the 10 inchers and the Note tablets, but you have to go generic to protect your 8 incher. And when you do, you have to compromise. A cover for a 7 inch tablet is almost the exact size of this 8 inch table. It will protect the screen but the edges are just slightly exposed and can dent if dropped edge on. A cover for a 9 inch tablet is way oversized. Summary: An excellent size, solidly built and beautiful screen. Very easy to use for anyone raised on PCs and/or Android devices. Apple users who dig into their system should have no problem, but those who require the constant handholding that Apple provides may have difficulty. Now, if only they would sell a properly sized cover for it . . .

Samsung has really made the push to rival Apple as a premier tablet maker. This model was the previous one after the newest line came out so was a little cheaper. Big screen but still portable, good amount of memory and speed. I bought this for my 8 yo son to replace a Vivitar Camelio tablet (basically a tablet for kids) which was slow, weak and frustrating even to let him play Angry Birds and do his online math homework. This Galaxy Tab is the real deal and will handle your grown up on kids responsibilities.

This is my first tablet and I got it to see where it would fit into my life. I use an older Android smartphone for mobile data, and I thought this would be good to supplement that. I'm a full-time law student, and this tablet isn't really robust enough for me to use in that capacity. For school, I use MS OneNote, which is part of MS Office. I prefer the regular keyboard and mouse to click back and forth between tabs when I'm taking notes in class. I've seen some people use their tablets with a bluetooth keyboard, but that just doesn't seem fast enough for me. As for other uses, the tablet is perfect. It's fast, portable, and really well-designed. I'm becoming a Samsung fanboy. My only problem is figuring out when I want to use this as opposed to my smartphone. Without 3G, the tablet is limited when I'm moving around town. If I'm in a wi-fi hotspot (which is often), the tab works fine. But when I'm driving around and need quick directions or want to check email/FB, obviously I have to go back to the phone. I can't rate the tablet any lower because of this, because I knew it going in. But as I said, I'm trying to find the balance between the smartphone and the tablet. Overall, it's a great device. Samsung has created a beautiful device that delivers as advertised. The screen is stunning. The processor is fast. Streaming netflix or youtube is no problem. Also, the multi-window display is excellent when you need it. I usually don't, but it's easy to switch on and off. I'm not a heavy gamer, so I won't speak to that, but I suspect that it should handle any games without problems.

This is my first tablet. I am 65 and work from home. I was going on a trip alone at the end of February and my husband came into my office a few days before Valentine's Day, picked up my laptop and said , "You are not bringing this on your trip. I am buying you a tablet for Valentine's Day. Lets shop for it today." I did some internet research and knew I wanted an Android system compatible with my Samsung phone. The Samsung Galaxy was on sale at Best Buy and from the reviews I realized I wanted the Tab and not the Note. The reviews definitely helped me make the right choice. It was very easy to set up and download apps. The screen is sharp. I chose the 8 inch which is perfect. It is lightweight and fits in my poocketbook without adding too much weight. I used the radio to listen to NPR and a local public radio station in NY when I was in Barbados. Perfect reception. I used facebook and twitter to stay in touch both when I was on vacation and at a business conference. Worked well as long as the wifi signal was adequate. The camera takes good pictures but it doesn't always focus well. And sometimes I touch and touch and it just doesn't click. Maybe it knows it isn't focused well and I just have to learn how to figure it out. But it also took some great pictures which I could directly -and easily put on facebook/twitter. I love the way it guesses what word I want and spells it correctly without my even finsihing to type it. So cool and efficient. The keyboard on my phone is too small and I have trouble using it to type, but the keyboard is large and super easy to use on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8. I can highly recommend this size. The tablet was on sale and a great price. It is an excellent value.

I have the Samsung Tab 3 8.0 for one month now. I’m glad I went with the 8-inch screen over the 7-inch. Nice size. The screen display is excellent and sound quality is very good but I would have preferred the speakers to be on the longer edge rather than the short edge. Better for watching a video. I’m impressed with how quickly the Tab 3 boots up and acquires a connection to my router. It can also connect with my Samsung smart TV so I don’t need to pause my TV when I leave the room. Wireless reception is great through out my home. The thin edges on the Tab 8.0 were initially a problem for me. I would accidentally touch the screen or the return while holding the unit. Since I got a case for it I no longer have that problem. I consider the battery life to be good not excellent. I found the tab 3 to be easy to use. Over all I’m very happy with my purchase.

Its a real nice tablet. Easy to set up and to use. Has a lot of nice features and screen resolution is also very good. It connect very fast to internet and has plenty of memory (16g) and can be expanded to 64g. Both camera's are good but would have liked to have a flash for the rear camera. Has multi screen use and can run 2 apps, nice feature. A bit pricy but well worth it.

I had to buy this because I was confiscating my kids' iPad on occasion as punishment, then getting busted for using it myself. I use it for dum-dum games, watching tv shows and checking email so I don't have to fire up my ancient laptop. Typing is a little hinky, but I think I'm figuring it out. The screen is beautiful, and I chose the 8" because the 7 seemed SO small, and 10 felt like too much. Getting the off-size made finding a cover for it a separate online order, and still haven't found a separate keyboard. I thought I might use it more for word processing, but haven't tried that yet. I loved having it on a recent business trip - small enough to not be cumbersome at all.

I recently purchased this tablet for my wife and she loves it. It's super fast and easy to use. The screen resolution is crisp and clear with great color feedback. The processor is lightning fast. I've used it to check email, browse forums, shop and take pictures. It does all of them with ease. I'm debating if I should return and get one for me. The sales staff at best buy were great and explained a lot to my wife on how to navigate the features. The only downside of the tablet was buying a protective cover at the store. There were none available. My wife found one on Amazon really cheap that fits great. She is extremely satisfied with the purchase.

This tablet is a real bargain the screen quality and battery life are excellent. Samsung updates Android quickly, there are Google playstore apps for just about everything you can imagine (and some things you can't). the Micro SD card is a very nice touch. i had iPad's for a long time, and was getting very tired of the IOS and Apple's dictating everything. I particularly disliked IOS7, so I tried this tablet, and never looked back. I like it much better than the iPad.

As my son announced "No more iproducts for me", was in the market for a tablet for xmas. After searching and reviews, found the Tab 3 8.0. The size is perfect. 10" units were too big, and 7" a little small, but the 8" is a great notebook size that can be stored/stashed just about anywhere. Camera is decent for a notebook and has the Samsung suite of modes that makes them versatile. Screen is very clear and good for viewing pictures and video. Battery life is decent and lasts for a few days on standby. WiFi reception finds signals easily...better/stronger than my laptop or phone. Why Samsung does not install support Flash Player is beyond me, but you can install equivalent apps for viewing relevant content.

Used this mainly as a tutoring tool. With the note pad I could easily write jot down notes for each student. Apps i downloaded help access tutoring apps offline. Internet is efficient with access to all I need to tutor my students. It has fun games and takes quality photos and videos. It is a nice size and easy to carry around. I love this tablet and all it has to offer.

My wife owner the iPad 2 but it's heavy for holding the period of time. I bought this tab 3 for her. Now she likes it. The Tab 3 is light, easy to set up, the screen is brilliant, the camera is good when we took the pictures from the beach. We tested the GPS excellent. It's very good for who like to read the ebook.

Bought this tablet as a gift and was rewarded immensely. Looked at multiple brands and models and this by far was the best. Features for this tablet that I looked at in particular were for speed, screen resolution and ease of use. Games play quick, surfing the internet and checking emails works great, so if your looking at tablets and are not sure which one to look at, I would definitely recommend this one.

This tablet is the perfect blend of portability with a big enough screen to comfortably web browse. It is lightweight and the slim side bezels allow me to grip it with one hand. It is designed with portrait orientation being it's preferred position which is the way I find myself holding it 90% of the time anyways unless watching videos. This model also comes with a forward and rear camera. The forward camera can be used with Skype and Google Hangouts and is also used in one of Samsung's software enhancements that I will touch on in a minute.It has some innovative features that enhance the tablet experience and brought back a much requested feature that was included in past versions of android.this tablet comes packed with features not available on any other tablet in this price range or form factor. Also, I was happy to see that the Galaxy Tab 3 uses the same sized USB power adapter as my cell phone, so I have just 1 charger to bring with me when I travel now. You just can't go wrong with it. The screen is gorgeous and the form factor and size are perfect. It is very thin and light but not cheap feeling in the least. You will not be disappointed with this tablet. Excellent work Samsung!!!
