Customers are saying
Customers are pleased with the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite's screen size, ease of use, battery life, and price. Many also appreciate its ample storage, lightweight design, and sufficient memory. While some users noted performance limitations when multitasking, and the camera quality could be improved, the positive feedback on other features outweighs these concerns. Overall, the tablet is considered a good value for its price point.

Full review of frustration
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Samsung A7 Lite is a very good tablet for the price point however it has some annoying flaws. I purchased mainly to read via Kindle app, play a few games, web browsing and shopping. This tablet doesn't do really any of that well. I Purchased to replace a Samsung Tab A 8inch that is several years old Also have a Samsung TabA 9.7inch Picture left TabA 8in 16g 2018 Center Tab A7 lite 64g 2021 Right TabA 9.7in 16g 2017 All in otterbox defender case so they do look a bit bigger than they really are. Cons 1. Amazon shopping app is not available in google play or Samsung store you must shop Amazon in a web browser. Google just says app is not compatible with your device? No idea why. I was able to get Amazon for tablets from Google play store to install but the app is no very good. The Kindle, Audible, Prime video, and Amazon music apps all work fine. 2. There is no adjustment for screen sensitivity for a screen protector. I'm using an otterbox defender case. This is very annoying! 3. Screen doesn't darken enough even with blue light filter to be comfortable for reading in the dark. I may return it due to this as my #1 use for a tablet is reading in bed. 4. The screen sucks. I mean I read the specs before I ordered it. But its way worse than imagined it would be. It is fine for most things in low resolution like reading or web browsing. However when viewing pictures they are really grainy and you can't zoom in, it just gets blurry. UHD video in a no go SD almost HD quality. 5. The camera is fine for video calling but not good enough for taking pictures or videos of say a child's birthday or something. I just used my phone camera it's way better even though it is really old. 6. Games are okay. With Quick loading and smooth operation until you apply a screen protector then the sensitivity is gone. It is fine for some games like Simpsons trapped out but not anything that requires timing or precision. With a screen protector its like flappy bird level frustrating trying to play anything like that. Even basic apps like tapping to turn pages in Kindle are annoying. Pros 1. Storage in a small tablet is what I wanted. Be sure to get the 64GB not the 32GB. 12GB are just the operating system. Just like every other Samsung you Can Not store apps on the SD card only the photos videos and documents, I believe. The memory is expandable with a SD card slot on left hand side near the top. Since the screen display and camera suck I won't be using an SD card for photo storage anyway. 2. Size it is a little bit more narrow than I'm used to. It took a bit of adjustment but the screen is big enough to do everything. About the size of a book. Being narrow as it is I can securely carry with one hand with fingers on both sides. It Fits in my purse or large coat pockets. The A7 lite is actually really light so there is no strain holding for long periods to read. 3. Headphone jack because my Bluetooth is always dead Pros vs older Tab A 8inch Blue light filter no need for another app. Pop out side panel to access apps just like phone. Ring app or need to add something to shopping list just a quick slide swipe and they are right there no hunting for the apps. Mainly this tablet is just okay. The battery is fine and I like the size. But without screen sensitivity adjustment it becomes annoying and difficult to use once in a case with screen protector. The display lighting controls are difficult to use with no quick adjustment slider bar. The display doesn't get dim enough to read in the dark comfortably. As Amazon shopping, on the go and night reading in bed, are my main uses for this tablet. I may return, I'm not sure yet. If you want a small tablet and don't need a screen protector or read in the dark the A7 lite is great. I choose the A7 over Tab A 8inch 64g because there is not an otterbox or any rugged case for the new 8in model. I was not paid for my review I purchased from best buy Oct 2021 on sale for $129.99. I simply did alot of back and forth looking for a good but small (not apple) tablet under $300. I wanted 64GB+ in storage 3GB+ on memory and a solid case with screen protection available. I normally use otterbox or urban armor gear cases to protect my samsung devices. Overall I'm pretty disappointed in the A7 light it looks great on the specs is a nice size but has so many flaws.

It's a No because the battery life is horrible
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tablet doesn't have a great feel to it. The battery life is horrible on this device. It doesn't hold a charge long. The price isn't worth it in my opinion. Bad battery life makes the experience horrible when using this.

Well it looks good on paper:(
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Samsung's latest entry into the 8 inch class of tablets is unfortunately a bit short. This not a terrible tablet, but it is a low budget tablet. Initial price is too high. This tablet looks good on paper has 64GB ROM, 4GB of Ram, but the GPU performs poorly and the screen shutters from page to page, The screen refresh rate is poor. The wifi says its dual band and fast but did not perform well. The display is just OK. It does not have screen sleep when cover is closed. It cannot vibrate, and has no fingerprint sensor. This tablet will not do well with games. It does have a good battery, fast charging and USB C. It also has Android 11. It barely functions as a reader. With just a little more effort from Samsung and this could have been a decent successor to the TAB S2.

A Mediocre Device
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am disappointed with this unit. By contrast, I loved my previous Tab A from Samsung. It lasted an astounding eight years(!) with zero issues. The only thing that forced me to retire it was the out-of-date OS that caused various app crashes. Seeing how well it performed, I was eager to upgrade. Imagine how much better the new model would be! With that in mind, I splurged on the new tablet with the expanded memory and storage option. Sadly, I regret that decision as this new model is inferior in every way to my old tablet. For reasons I don't understand, this model is strangely sluggish. From pulling down the toolbar from the top of the screen to launching and closing apps, this tablet has an annoying stutter as if it is struggling to perform basic functions. Interestingly, if I continue to use the tablet for over a half hour or so, the stutter mostly disappears, but why it is there at all is beyond me. Even in its elderly days, my old Samsung was always swift in the same activities with NO stuttering. The second thing that annoys me is the charging: it is much slower than my old tablet. Using the included micro-USB cable and charger, this tablet can take a rather long time to reach 100% (approximately an hour or longer from ~80% or so). My old tablet would charge in less than an hour from the same battery level. Again, a step backwards from my old unit. Lastly, while app performance is improved from my old Tab A (after eight years, how couldn't it?), I am surprised at the merely marginal increase in performance. I think this fact and the stuttering from basic tablet actions indicate that Samsung skimped on the processor or, quite possibly, it is the mandatory Knox security software gobbling up resources. All things considered, I do not recommend this tablet. It is a step backward from my old Samsung tablet. Seeing the many tablet manufacturers now available to choose from, I would advise trying a different brand as there is not much here I can recommend. It is a disappointingly mediocre device.

Too slow
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Way too slow. I wanted a smaller tablet that I could easily fit in my purse. Tablets have gotten so big and heavy and after researching, this was really the only affordable option other than a kindle fire and I did not want another kindle since you are limited to their app store. This tablet is so slo, it takes forever for a page to open. The only thing that it is good for is using it as an E reader with the kindle app. So I might as well have bought a kindle fire. I really don't understand all the 5 star reviews.

Couldn't return it fast enough.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tablet is slower than an abacus being used by someone with no hands! It took 13 hours to tranfer data from my phone AFTER I deleted most of the photos and it takes forever to boot. I returned it a week after I bought it! On the plus side, it is the perfect size and the display is sharp and clear.

Decent
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Slow processor. Perfect size to download movies and watch them in airplanes. A plus over iPad is the gps. You can download maps and navigate without phone signal nor WiFi. Get 64 GB, I had 32 in another one and ran out of space to download movies.

Tablet for basic functions with processing delays
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For some people, this little tablet might work for use with basic functions. Purchased the tablet and was going to use it for work, but at times there are slight delays when processing functions within the tablet. I returned it and instead will be using an ipad, which is a little pricier but performs better.

Save up and get a better tablet
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tablet was already freezing randomly out the box and performance isn’t great which I’d expect from a cheaper tablet but it’s just about unusable and I bought it new.

"low" end
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to return it. Astonishing that Samsung would put their name on a tablet like this in the year 2021. Is this the same company that put out the astounding tab S2 (8inches) way back in 2015? I know that A7 lite is "low end", but please. This is really putting the LOW in the "Low end". There is already a slew of low end A-series tablets - i have two more of these 10 inch A series (one for the car, one for the basement) and i have no complaints about those, even though these are "low end". The screens are decent. Maybe they're getting rid of their stock of old/obsolete LCD screens? Just who is the target audience for this set of Specs? Wheres the replacement for the tab S2 8 inches? The closest you can get to, is SM-P200 but its an international version and not available here. So this particular one - with a retro 1980s style screen/resolution - is a mystery.

Good for basic stuff, but not for hi-performance
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use for flying my DJI drones when I do insurance inspections. I looked up the system requirements for the DJI Fly app and the other apps I use to fly drones, and it met those requirements. But when I tried to use it, the drone apps both kept shutting down while the drone was flying. The same apps run fine on my iPad (9th gen) and iPhone 12. So I returned it. It you are looking for a basic tablet to do simple things (web browsing, email) it works just fine for that though.

Not worth the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great for about a year before the battery completely stops working. I bought two of these tablets, and the first stopped taking a charge within 11 months of purchase. Now the second has stopped taking a charge only 16 months after purchase. Would not recommend for the price.

I wish Samsung would show small tablets love
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't get me wrong I love the Galaxy tab 7 plus and Galaxy Tab seven ultra as much as the next person but it would be nice to have a tablet that I can fit in my cargo pants primarily for reading that doesn't have the completely potato mediatek processor as opposed to even an older Snapdragon processor. When you're using this thing it will feel like a tablet from five years ago despite the fact that you can buy refer bisht tablets for a comparable price that runs circles around this thing. If you're just looking to read and you really want to use the Android ecosystem like myself and you want are small screen that isn't as tiny as your phone this is an acceptable device. But temper your expectations and be patient with this little slow device
