My first smart watch, so far so good

I've had the watch now for 2 months & I feel like I've had enough experience with it to write a review. What I like about it:
1 - It's really nice looking. I love the aluminum finish & the leather band. It's got a few light scratches & scuffs after two months, but so far it's held up well. It looks really good on and the 40mm screen doesn't look too massive on my wrist. It's also very easy to switch out watch bands. 2 - It integrates seamlessly with my phone (Galaxy S8). I'm a fan of the Galaxy Wear app - really helps make setting up & controlling features on the watch easy. 3 - Setting up the LTE with T-Mobile was very easy and the service works great. I've never have any problems with making/receiving calls & text messages when using the device in standalone or Bluetooth. 4 - I really like the 'health' features on the app. I like the activity reminders very much, and the pedometer appears to be accurate as well as heart rate monitoring. Sleep tracking appears decently accurate. 5 - Battery life (on bluetooth) is excellent. I can get at least two days from an overnight charge if the watch stays connected to my phone.
That brings me to things I don't like about the watch...
1 - BATTERY LIFE ON LTE IS TERRIBLE. A fully charged watch drains to 0% in about 3 hours. I wanted to be able to use it in place of my phone at times, but the battery life makes it near impossible. And after paying so much more for the LTE version vs the bluetooth one, I'd hope to actually be able to use it. I really hope Samsung will do something to improve this in the very near future. This is my main complaint about the watch. 2 - The app selection leaves a lot to be desired. Especially for music apps. Only options are Spotify app which requires you to upgrade to premium to use in standalone mode (already deleted it - useless), or upload music files manually to the watch. Why not make other services available like Google Play music? If they made more music streaming services available, this watch would be amazing. 3 - This is a personal preference thing, but I wish some of the watch faces that come loaded on the watch were more customizable. The watch faces available in the marketplace are ok, but I haven't really been able to find ones that I like & that have the functionality I'm looking for. I hope Samsung will add more stock watch faces in the future. Overall I really like the watch and have bought two more for my parents for Christmas. It's great looking & I really like some of the feature, especially the health related ones. If Samsung would fix the battery life on LTE issue & add more music streaming service capabilities, it would be perfect 5-stars.

I loved the Galaxy Watch but I like the design of this one better. The step counter and heartrate monitor works better as well. The only drawback is the battery life isn't as good but the watch is lighter so it's a tradeoff. The LTE feature works well too. Overall, I am very satisfied.

The watch has been very good so far. Easy set up, very responsive. I got the pkg with the Live Bud. Im glad I went with LTE connection for convenience, outdoor activities. Watch looks very slick can be worn casual and formal by changing bands.

I was replacing my Fitbit Versa 2. I didn't like it for HR or GPS. However, loved it for sleep quality.
I returned the Garmin Vivoactive to buy this watch.
Love the ease of use, being able to relatively easily see the screen, ease of changing watch faces. Also putting the watch in airplane mode so you don't drain the battery.
GPS is much much more accurate than the Fitbit. Sometimes HR is spot on and other times, I'd be having a stroke if I had that high of an HR for 30 minutes of running. Love getting texts to my watch and calls. I haven't activated the LTE yet, but happy I bought that option.
It's an amazing watch. I'm sure it does a ton more that I haven't discovered just yet.

Love the style of the watch, like that you can wear it in the water. Only negative is the battery as others have indicated, requires a charge every day.

My first data equipped smartwatch was the original rectangular S2. I have continuously upgraded getting a better interactive experience, yet the watch was always too big. Finally I can use the stock band and not look like I'm wearing my dad's watch!

The motivation I needed to keep me on my workouts! I love my watch! Does everything I need to keep track of everything I have going on. The battery life can be a little better though I find myself putting it on the charger in the afternoon. I love the different faces I can add to it.

I bought the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 last month. At the beginning I thought that was very expensive but once I used it I understood that it was worth every penny. I am the whole day on top of my notifications. The watch is super elegant and you can use with any outfit. Also, you can change the leather band. Highly recommend it.

This is a really nice watch, and I think it is a great value when you compare it to similar items of its competitor. Love how I can get my texts and calls right away. I don't have it on a cellular plan, and probably never will, but can enjoy those features while having the phone in general area (within the house)

I had decided to wait for the holiday sales and purchased the 40mm Active2 watch. I have a Fitbit and like the versatility but wanted more functions in a watch. It turns out that my Fitbit is only missing the phone feature.
I personally do not like the round face.

The Best Smartwatch for Android Users

In brief, I have used the Pebble Time Round, early versions of Wear OS, and eventually the Galaxy Watch from last year. This watch is superior to all of them, my reasons why are below.
Hardware: The size is perfect. 40 mm looks chic and stylish on smaller and average wrists. At 10.9 mm thick it is a little thicker than the original galaxy active (10.4), but compared to the Galaxy Watch (13.1 mm), this thing is a feather. I waited a long time for the stainless steel black version to come out, and I was not disappointed. Beautiful minimalist design that is elegant. Goes well with jeans, polo, and dress shirts and suits all the same. Leather band is high quality, contours well to the wrist.
Screen: High resolution, excellent contrast ratio AMOLED screen. Even though it is only slightly larger than the original galaxy watch active screen (due to smaller bezels, same size watch), it feels significantly roomier. It makes reading and typing much easier.
Bezel: The digital bezel that was introduced in lieu of the mechanical rotating bezel is decent, and while I still would prefer a physical bezel, the fluid interface makes touch screen scrolling and swiping really easy. Ultimately this was a necessary sacrifice to keep the size down to what it is today. I might even say I'd prefer even smaller bezels but with no digital rotating bezel, but that is just me.
Software: Basically the best smart watch interface outside of the Apple Watch (which is still slightly better in a few ways). The interface is smooth, fluid, and logical. Relevant items are easy to access, and overall Samsung has developed a near perfect smartwatch interface. I have tried the more recent Wear OS smartwatches, but they are marred by inadequate battery life (seriously) and by slow, unresponsive interface. There really is no comparison, sadly.
Overall: As above, the best smart watch at this time for any android user. You should try them on in store to see if 40 or 44mm works better for you. Fortunately they use the same band width for easy swapping. You will likely be very happy with this product. The aluminum, Bluetooth only version is basically identical, but for me the stainless steel design and hardware was worth the premium.

I've had this watch less than a month. I have a bone disease. I fell and broke my hip and femur. When I came home from the hospital a week later, I was using a crutch, and carrying cell in other hand. No free hand to carry anything else. Not all my pants have pockets and cell phone holders that strap to thigh or arm would slide down. Tightening would be like cutting off circulation. So researched smartwatches and went for this one. So happy with it! Make calls, receive calls...its great. Texting is a bit cumbersome so I use the audio feature. Just speak and send. I still have things to figure out on it. Also I have a very small 4.5in wrist. I was worried it would be huge. Actually not so bad. I did have to make two holes in the band as it was way to big, but not a deal breaker. I still think its very pricy. But feel secure knowing if I go down, can call from my wrist.

I like my watch, easy to use. The battery life isn't that long tho, I'd say 7 hours? I did have some issues with it while having data/number share. I think Samsung should have a look into it. I had number share with my watch and phone, my calls would get forwarded to voice-mail. I didnt know what the cause was but I had to turn my watch on and put it in data mode for me to receive calls. I didnt want to keep doing that so I just canceled the data plan. Not sure if its cause of my carrier (verizon) or if its cause of the watch. But other than that, I love the watch. Looks nice, not bulky, easy to use, easy to keep track of things.
