After doing research on all the 'lower cost' 360 cameras, I constant came to the conclusion that the Gear 360 is the best 360 camera on the market currently. It's a bit tough to find in stock and had a slight issue with the first one, but after getting it replaced the second one was great. I took it with me to Las Vegas, Nellis AFB Airshow, and Disneyland and put it through a through a few hundreds shots and a few videos. This allowed me to really get a feel for the various aspects of this first effort by Samsung. Photos - As someone who used to do the manual way of taking 20 shots with my phone to make a photosphere, this instant way of taking a 360 photo was perfect. No weird 'half human' stitches from people walking between shots. The photos are stitched well as long as the nearest subject is at least about a foot away from either lens. Putting the brightest light source (like the sun) pointing at the area between the lenses helps to give really nice consistent stitching. The quality, however, is not as high res as you might imagine. While it's better quality than any of the other 360 cameras out there, it looks like a 'medium' res camera took the photo. If you bump up the ISO limit to anything above ISO 800, the image becomes soft, noisy, and looks terrible in the Samsung VR system. Keeping the ISO at 400 makes for sharper and clearer photos, but still not like what the newer smart phones can get quality wise. I was surprised at how non detailed some of the photos could be, especially at night. They are acceptable for viewing in VR, providing you keep the ISO limit low and don't move the camera. But don't expect the quality to be better than a photosphere. Video - Video is said to be 4k, but keep in mind that's 4k when stitched together, NOT per lens. The quality is again decent, but if something is moving fast (a USAF Thunderbird fighter jet flying past at near Mach speeds) you won't see smooth high res motion, but a little more jumpy motion. Night video isn't that great, so you have to bump the ISO limit up for there to be enough light (like at Disneyland at night), and that will introduce noise into the video. At the highest ISO, it can look like the dark sky has the old fashioned TV noise when you flip to a channel that isn't broadcasting. Also, the videos are split into multiple smaller files and can take a really long time to transfer to the phone. However previewing the videos on the phone (without downloading them) is really fast. Phone App - The phone app is pretty simple, and can be slow to respond when trying to connect to the 360. Keep in mind that the 360 DOES NOT stitch the images/videos in camera, your PHONE does all that. I believe only Samsung S6, S7, and S7 Edge phones are compatable (could be more Samsung phones) but there are ways to sideload the app on other phones and get it mostly working. The App is slow to download the images and videos because it has to download them then stitch them. If you have 50 images you want to stitch and a few videos, it could take a few hours to all get done. The app could really use some improvement. That being said, I find it easier to change the limited camera settings (ISO, exposure value, quality/size, white balance, etc) with the app, but it's not something you can do super quickly. I will say that the HDR setting doesn't seem to do anything noticeable for the photos. Build Quality - The camera seems pretty fragile overall, you will NOT want to drop it. Water, dust, dirt, etc are no issue... but the glass bubble lenses are super easy to scratch/chip with even the slightest fall I've been reading... and it's expensive to replace them (if Samsung even will at all!) I wish there was some sort of screen protector I could put on the lenses to protect them. Make sure you keep a cleaning cloth with the 360 as you will want to make sure the lenses are always clean as that can produce weird lens flares. Battery - The battery is small, so if you're using it heavily you will run out of battery within a few hours. BUT, there's an issue with the 360 overheating before you even would reach the end of the battery's life. If it's hot out the camera can easily overheat and it will flash a warning and stop any video recording/photo taking and will force you to wait till the battery cools down. You can pop out the battery and fan/blow on it to cool it down, but this is a major issue. The bad/good news is that all the other 360 cameras out there do this too, so it's something you'll have to live with. I find that if you just turn off the camera in between shots, that helps a lot. BUT, if it does start to over heat, you'll run into another problem that only seems to happen to this camera: 'Blurgate' - As reported on a 360 forum (and as I've seen myself), as the camera begins to overheat, the battery slightly bulges in size. This causes what seems like a very slight movement of the lenses making the camera go slightly out of focus. I've seen this happen myself. It's not blurry to the point you can't use it, but you will notice a suddenly lack of sharpness and detail. Once the camera cools down again, all is back to normal. This seems to be because of the fixed focus on the lenses being a bit too precise. This hasn't been addressed by samsung at the time I'm writing this review (12/2/16), so hopefully either there's an update to help this or the next release fixes this major issue. Again, making sure to turn off the camera in between shots/videos helps keep the camera cool, and in turn keeps the blurgate under control. Accessories - The 360 comes with the battery, a USB cable, a mini tripod (you'll want to invest in a monopod/selfie stick to avoid the 'fat fingers' from holding the tiny tripod), and a nice draw-string carrying pouch. There is an optional accessories pack that includes a remote control, various types of mounts for the 360, and a longer tripod. Overall - It's a great start to what will hopefully only get better. As the whole VR fad continues to get more and more popular, I think 360 cameras will be seen more and more. Right now, everyone stares at my 360 like it's some alien device and are very interested in what it is... but I think we'll see more people with them in the future. If you want to jump on the start of 360 photos and videos, this is a great one to start with having the best quality and stitching time... just make sure you have a Samsung phone. If you're looking to record a concert, show, etc. you might want to wait a year or so as it's not quite there yet. For the casual person who wants 360 mementos from vacations, trips, etc this is the perfect gadget for that.

Late last year, Samsung announced their arrival in the burgeoning virtual reality space with the launch of the Gear VR headset, bringing premium mobile virtual reality to the masses and firmly establishing itself as a front-runner in the market. In the subsequent months, the South Korean electronics giant worked hard to promote the Gear VR experience with promotional campaigns, product bundles and an improved second iteration. However, as the Samsung brand became synonymous with VR mobile content consumption, VR content creators had to endure a frustrating wait for news of an accompanying 360 camera. Finally, towards the tail end of the non-committal ‘Summer 2016’ release date, and nearly four months after the device was launched in Korea and Japan (a lifetime in this day and age of global simultaneous products launches), the hotly-anticipated device has finally begun to hit US store shelves. Samsung hopes the promise of 4K 30fps video capture, seamless integration with their line of Galaxy phones and a competitive price point will persuade prospective early adopters that the Gear 360 was worth the wait FORM FACTOR Roughly the size of a pool ball and accompanied by a miniature tripod, cleaning cloth and carry-case, the Gear 360 is about as portable as an extraneous 4K video capture device could possibly be. With this portability, however, comes a passable-at-best 1,350mAh battery; though thankfully the battery is removable, as are the MicroSD cards used for storage. Whilst the miniature tripod enhances the Gear 360’s portability, its actual practicality as a tripod is fairly limited. In fact, it works better as a stand than a tripod. Thankfully, Gear 360 features an industry-standard tripod attachment screw, meaning that owners can use any existing action camera mounts and full-sized tripods with the device. Despite being clearly the camera’s key-selling point, Gear 360 isn’t restricted solely to standard spherical video capture; Looping Video is an option (after all, this is the Vine-generation) as are spherical photographic stills and time lapses - a medium that lends itself extremely well to VR. Furthermore, the added ability to record video and photographs with a single ultra-wide fisheye lens will convince many users that the Gear 360 can replace their GoPro altogether. APP SUPPORT With smartphone app support out of the box, Samsung devotees will instantly feel at home with a UI that mimics the Galaxy’s standard camera app. The ability to view the 360 video feed, stitched together in real-time really helps the Gear 360 stand out. Users can rotate and zoom both the live camera feed, or recorded videos, all streamed directly from the device. The experience is utterly seamless, and perhaps this desire for perfection is the reason Samsung decreed that app-support is only available to Galaxy S6 and later smartphones. Away from the app, all the action can be controlled via buttons on the body of the camera, with a mini screen on the top of the device giving the user just enough information to get by. Should the smartphone app’s editing tools feel too restrictive, Samsung have also bundled desktop software in the shape of Cyberlink’s ActionDirector. Strangely, due to the lack of glossy instructional material, it almost feels like an afterthought; just a scrap of paper in amongst the packaging containing the words ‘ACTION DIRECTOR’ and a string of alpha-numeric characters. ActionDirector’s basic toolset includes the ability to modify lighting, contrast and other basic visual effects, together with the option to add text to spherical videos. While features are few and far between, the functionality on offer is easy-to-user and self-explanatory. Cyberlink have a reputation for class-leading video editing software, so it’s great to see bundled software from a reputable company, rather than self-produced software – a mistake that which has let down many an accomplished product over the years. CONCLUSION As a Kodak PixPro SP360 4K Dual Pro Pack camera owner, I had already experienced the fledgling VR camera market’s previous front-runner. While Gear 360 matches the PixPro’s dual camera 4K resolution, it does so in a compact, single camera solution, fully controllable with a smartphone app, with vastly superior desktop software and for $550 less than Kodak's asking price. Simply put; with the Gear 360, Samsung have created the single finest 360 camera on the market. Not bad for a first try.

I’ve been using the Gear360 for about a month and I absolutely love it. It’s very fun to capture 360 selfies and amazing landscape photos, and is a must buy for virtual reality users. Pros: - Attention grabbing, futuristic design - Easy controls that can act independent of your phone - Great resolution for photos, good enough resolution for video - Very good sound capture, even live bands sound great! - Included desktop software is straightforward and easy to edit videos/post online - Light editing can be done on your phone - Compatible with standard camera equipment/memory cards Cons: - Doesn't handle low light situations very well (though I haven't played much with the settings, but still my late night indoor videos look like the resolution was cut in half) - Bulky shape makes it impossible to carry in your pocket, so save space in a bag - Can't connect your phone unless in an area with wifi, I wanted to change a setting on a campout and had to wait until I found a building with wifi just to adjust the countdown timer - There isn't a simple way to view your images in the Samsung GearVR, while you can click an image within the Gear360 App to "view in VR" and then insert the phone into your headset, you get launched into a VR photo gallery that amazingly doesn't recognize 360 photos, if you can find your Gear360 photos in the file system you'll see them as rectangular projections, not 360. So I ended up using the "Samsung VR" app (formerly Milk VR) and there you can view the photos and select the proper 360 mode. Describing the pros and cons don't do this device justice because there is something magical about viewing your own photos and videos inVR that is so much more compelling than standard cell phone pics. This feels like you're stepping into a memory. This really impacted me as I took pictures of my home and town as I prepared to move and now I can look back at those and feel like I'm there. I'd recommend this device to anyone ambitious to try new tech and doesn't mind learning some new software. It is a must buy for all Samsung GearVR owners and hopefully software to interface with the photos in VR will continue to improve.

Having recently received the Samsung Gear 360 and been using it, I am stunned by what this camera can do. Whether you are shooting a 360 photo or video to view on your phone OR using it to watch video and photos with the Samsung Gear VR Headset, the quality of this camera is astounding! It is easy to set up, easy to connect to and easy to shoot with! Video viewed with the Gear VR is mind blowing! This item should be a must for all REALTORS who are trying to get an edge showing photos of property on their web site. Can you imagine giving your clients searching for their next property a TRUE 360 degree photo of each room in the house where they can feel like they are IN the home? What about using it to capture the wonderful views that a home can offer? This should be a required tool for professional real estate photographers. Now if I can just figure out how to hook it up to a drone! I plan on using this camera for things that other cameras simply can't do ... teaching procedures, showing the full effects of a project, video at the beach, shooting film of the dogs ... there is little this camera can't do. I can't remember getting a device and being so blown away by what it can do right off the bat. Easy to charge, takes memory cards so you can shoot until you drop.

Being an older individual who loves technology I was looking for a 360 camera that was easy to use, but fun to use this camera exceeds my expectations at a reasonable price. I enjoy sharing memories with friends and family and the Samsung Gear 360 camera allows me to easily capture and share memories that are creative and attract attention. It's great that you can do so while not being a photography expert. Without having to refer to the instructions I was able to take my first picture within 10 minutes. I downloaded the Samsung Gear 360 Manager which is a mobile app that can be quickly downloaded from the Google Play or Samsung app stores to connect the camera to my Samsung phone using Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth, and NFC. Using the Live View feature of the app is helpful so I can attach the camera to a railing or on a standard tripod to setup a shot and then move away to view the action on my phone or I set up the shot for still pictures. You can also use the app to change shooting modes - in addition to regular photos and videos, there is time-lapse video (for slow events, like sunsets) and looping video (for creating seamless action that repeats). The Gear 360 Manager app makes sharing my videos and pictures quick and easy. I can share to my favorite social media sites. The app has a button that allows me to quickly send the 360 pictures and videos to my Samsung Gear VR with just selecting an option. The Samsung Gear 360 has front and rear lenses each capture pictures and videos 180 degrees horizontally and vertically, creating a complete 360-degree field of view. This feature allows you to be immersed in the picture you captured. It's as if you're right there!! When viewing the picture on your phone you can either just move the device around or use your finger to move around in the picture so you can see up, down and all the way around. You can even move around while viewing videos that you capture in 360 mode. Each lens can be also used separately to capture a striking wide-angled view either in video or stills. You can share memories to a variety of social media sites. Facebook allows the best interactive experience so friends and families can view the pictures and videos without an additional settings or equipment. Videos can be shared and viewed easily on YouTube. Pictures can also be shared on Instagram, Google Street View, and Twitter. The battery lasts for a good two hours. The camera uses a mini-SD memory card that must be purchased separately. I use a 32 GB size memory card which has plenty of space of storing my pictures and videos. I can then move the pictures and videos to my cell phone to free up space on the memory card for the next time I'm ready to start capturing memories. The camera comes with a soft bag to carry the camera. I wanted a little more protection for the device so I purchased a great case for around $12 that makes the camera easy to carry with me where ever I go. The camera also comes with a USB cable so you can charge the camera and also connect the device to your computer in you want to do any advanced video editing or save your memories on your computer or other storage device. To sum it up the Samsung Gear 360 camera is a fun, creative, and easy to use device that allows me to take great pictures and videos to share 360 memories with my friends and family.

I had the opportunity to test out the Samsung Gear 360 camera before its release and have come away impressed by its function and cool factor. Weighing in at 7.3 ounces (with tripod attached), the Samsung Gear 360 packs a lot of function into a small space. There is a camera on the front and back. The top has a tiny led screen and record button. One side houses the rechargeable battery, usb port, and micro sd card. The other side contains the Menu and Back multifunction buttons. No space is wasted. Because of this however, it can make it difficult to handle the Gear 360 without either fingerprinting up the lenses or accidentally pushing a button. The Samsung Gear 360 looks kind of like an old-school webcam but with two camera lenses instead of one. It also looks kind of like an eyeball or half of BB-8. It comes with a small tripod that is just over two inches long. When closed, the tripod makes for a good handle to use for video recording. The tripod connects to the Gear 360 by a traditional screw-in format. This means that you can use the Gear 360 with lots of different camera mounts. Camera mounts can be an issue with this camera however. Most action cam mounts on the market today are chest mounts or mount to the bill of a baseball cap. With these kind of mounts, only the front camera will be useful on the Gear 360 because the rear camera will be pointed towards the chest or hat. Helmet mounts are the best option for this camera but unless you are doing something that requires a helmet, who wants to go around wearing one? Selfie sticks are the next best mount for this camera, but sometimes they are not permitted (like in some theme parks). The Samsung Gear 360 features two F2.0 lenses that each shoot 180 degrees. The Gear 360 shoots 3840x1920 high resolution videos and 30 MP photos. Perhaps because of the fisheye lenses or maybe the stitching involved, I find that video shot on the Galaxy Note 7 looks sharper than that shot on the Gear 360. The trade off is in the 360 degree immersion you get from the Gear 360. Watching your videos on the cell phone or computer is pretty cool and it is easy and intuitive to maneuver around the picture. Watching on a Samsung Gear VR is even cooler and really helps to relive the moments captured. The Gear 360 seems like a great fit for certain uses: recording landscape panoramas, commercial promotional videos (i.e. real estate virtual tours, stadium seat locations, tourism, etc.), vlogs and action recordings. For everyday stuff, it may be more hassle than it's worth though. For one thing, you really have to think about your surroundings because it captures it all (unless you use only one of the cameras). Some quick examples: you can't clean a little space of your house to record because we'll see all your dirty laundry you shoved into the corner. Camera shy friends? Suddenly they're part of the show. Beautiful landscape on one side, dumpsters and port-a-potties on the other...you get the idea. Planning is involved with this camera. Video recording and photos can be accomplished via the camera itself or through your compatible Samsung phone via Bluetooth. Samsung also provides free editing software to do basic editing of your videos, such as adding music, cutting, transitions, effects, etc. Video files can be large, so make sure you have a big memory card. Videos can be sent directly to facebook and other platforms straight from the Gear 360. Transferring files from the Gear 360 to your phone and/or computer can be time consuming, but is easily done. The camera uses a 1350 mAh battery that can get used up fairly quickly. Recharging is also a time consuming process. Overall, for a first iteration of a product, Samsung did a really good job. I'm sure each version will be improved but this initial version is good enough that you don't need to hold out for a future version.

Excellent camera for the price. This little camera puts a lot of functionality into a very small package. I am not a professional but this camera offered me more options than I could ask for. Once out of the box i was up and running in a few minutes. Had my first video and was able to view it on my Galaxy Note 5 as well as view it in 360 degrees on my Galaxy Gear VR headset. If you are into creating 360 degree videos, this is probably the best device available right now. However I took off one star because it is not a device for everybody. The concept of filming in 360 takes on a whole new level of complexity and one that I am not able to work with right now. To create small clips and post online to share, this camera is great. To stitch together a full movie clip and edit a story is more complex. I do not think this is an issue with the camera but more so just an issue with filming in 360 in general. Connects easily and long battery life. One small design issue was the power button which was on the side where you pick up the device. I tended to press it by accident because I did not want to smudge the lens with my fingers. Power button should be moved somewhere else on the device.

This is my second 360 camera, I had a Ricoh Theta S, the Samsung is much superior; the picture resolution is more than double at 30MP. I have been using the camer for 3+ months (bough it in May/2016 from Korea, plus I just got a second one as a Samsung Insider.) This camera is water and dust-proof, so no need to protect it against the elements, I took it to the desert, mounted on top of my car and had no problems with the heat or dust. The included mini-tripod is extremely useful, or it can be removed and attached to any tripod or suction mount. The only two things I have not tried....yet are mounting it on my drone, and take it underwater. It works and pairs perfectly with my Samsung Galaxy Note5. I edited footage on PC with a program supplied by Samsung. I have uploaded videos to YouTube and Google Maps without problems and watched 360 videos on my Samsung Gear VR. The only glitches I have encountered are: 1. The stitching is not perfect when objects are too close to the camera and/or have a pattern, also the stitching between the 2 lens is sometimes noticeable as lighter/darker line, probably this comes from two different camera exposures. 2. The camera does not adjust the horizon properly when mounted on a moving vehicle or upside-down - maybe this can be solved with a software update. 3. Objects too close to the camera are very distorted. 4. The camera is top heavy and falls easily on uneven surfaces, scratching the lens. In short, this is the best 360 camera and software available in the market at this price range.

I have been using this camera for 3 weeks now, and it is just amazing. I have had a 360 Fly camera for about a year or more, and its nice , but has several shortcomings compared to the samsung 360. Ease of use and conncetability i think are so much easier with the samsung gear 360. It connects almost instantly with my galaxy note 5 and now samsung galaxy note 7. Uploading videos and photos to youtube and facebook is very easy and suprisingly fast from my phone. You can't take 360 photos with 360 Fly as far as I know, or screen shot them in the fly director program. I have used the direct assist program supplled by samsung and it is also easy but it does take a while to render videos. I like that it has a removable SD card that the fly does not, and that you can recharge it with usb cable, instead of magnetic charging base that the 360 fly uses. So far the lenses are very durable and no scratcheas yet, even after a few times of it being toppled over by my grandson. I hit my first 360 fly on something and the lens had deep scratches on it, that the company couldn't fix or send me a new lens so i had to buy another. This camera makes boring facebook photos amazing in 360 surround! I love this camera and take it everywhere i go.

I've been using the Gear 360 for about a month now and I love it. I have made photospheres, using my Galaxy phones, in the past, with Google camera and Samsung Surround Shot. With the Gear 360 camera I can make photospheres with one click, compared to the process of stitching about 20 photos. But photospheres are just the start. The Gear 360 allows you to record 360 video in 4k resolution. Your 360 photos and videos can be shared directly to social media to give friends, family and followers the full perspective. If you're like me and you have a Galaxy S6/Note 5 or newer, then the Gear 360 Android app is provides an excellent user interface for the camera. While the Gear 360 camera can be used stand alone, the app provides a live preview and formatting software that add to the product. If you don't have a compatible Samsung phone, then you can render your 360 videos on a Windows PC, using Action Director. The one feature I've found missing is a VR app that allows you to see a live preview inside the Gear VR headset. Overall the refined design, quality, ease of use and portability of the Gear 360 make it a camera I take with me for the everyday and special occasions. #insidersgear360

I was super excited when I heard the Samsung Gear 360 was going to be released to the general public. I found B&H Photo had it listed on its website to receive emails when the device became available. Since the only other two options were the Ricoh Theta S and the LG 360 Cam. I knew that I wanted to get the Samsung Gear 360 over the other two consumer options since it had the wow factor. When I received the email about being selected to try out the Samsung Gear 360 I was ecstatic and I was racking my brain on how to best use the new 360 cam. The Samsung Gear 360 is an awesome little piece of tech that lets you snap photos and record videos of your life’s special moments. The Samsung Gear 360 looks like a white eyeball. It has a small tripod attached to the bottom which doubles as a handle making it very easy to hold the device. The design is cool and sleek. The size of the Gear 360 makes it easy to carry around. Some people have told me that it looks like BB-8 from Star Wars. The controls on the Gear 360 are very easy to navigate and change on the fly. The default settings on the Gear 360 make the device super easy to use right out of the box. However, you have more control over the settings through the Samsung Gear 360 application. I noticed when I take a 360 photo, the photo doesn’t blend the lighting together and there are visible lines where the photo was stitched. The Gear 360 produces great photos in low light, but at the cost of a slightly high noise level. I’m sure Samsung will be able to fix this issue with a firmware update. Unfortunately, non-Samsung phones can’t connect to the Gear 360 and you’re not able to change certain settings without the application. Luckily, I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and it is able to quickly transfer photos and videos. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and the Gear 360 compliments each other. I love that the Gear 360 has a super wide fisheye lens which can capture scenery quite well. I find myself using it more often than my GoPro Hero 4 Black. I use it more for taking video because it creates a better 360 experience. I bring it with me everywhere I go!

First off Samsung products are amazingly designed and built. The Gear 360 is a device like no other when compared to other 360 cameras. I've gotten to use this product now for about 2 weeks and it has created a whole new way of viewing content around me. Instead of focusing your shot in one direction and possibly missing another shot in the other direction, you're able to pick the direction you want and that to me is amazing. Also the editing on this device is unbelievably easy to do, the only problem I would have with the editing software is the placement of the music. It seems like once you pick the music it's played throughout the whole edited video. Also another thing that bothers me and takes the star away from this device is you can't edit the video's directly on MacOS. You either have to stitch the video/photo files on a Samsung flagship phone and then transfer it to MacOS or you can transfer them to a Windows computer and edit it there using Gear 360 ActionDirector (Included software when you buy the Gear 360) Besides all that, pairing the camera with your phone is a breeze especially with the device having NFC. Overall, This is a great buy. It's perfect for those that want to try something new with their photography/videography and or just want to dip their feet in to test how 360 video's are like. Because honestly the video quality in 4K is great for viewing on your phone but viewing it on a desktop will show a drop in quality. It's expected though because this is the 1st Generation of the Gear 360. Perhaps software updates in the future can fix them. the gear 360 is spot on tech and an easy to operate camera. The weight and sleek feel are very futuristic. I would recommend if you are going to purchase this product, that you buy a monopod with legs. That helps eliminate the visual of the tripod if you attach to one. Also one con that I have noticed, though a slight one. Is also somewhat of a problem with the Samsung flagship phone the Galaxy S7Edge. The dreaded over heating in a desert environment. The unit will shut down to cool off after about 15 min in an ambient temperature of 102 degrees. And without a way to cool it down faster you might find yourself missing that special shot. Or having to resort to using a panoramic, still or video from the galaxy s7 edge. Wich is definitely a great alternative, just no 360° Great in low light situations. I took shots and video around 3 am. And they came out vivid, after making adjustments to settings. Stitching done on the Galaxy S7 Edge was a bit slower than anticipated. But i must admit it was a smooth and stress free process. The applications for 360 video are only limited by creativity at this point. And maybe the slight downgrade of video quality when shown on different displays. But it shows up crisp and brilliant as expected on the gorgeous samsung galaxy S7 edge screen. Still testing, but so far samsung has done in my opinion an awesome job of simplifying a complicated process and making it all user friendly. The camera is very user friendly with setup and usage. My first shot was very surprising with video clarity and ease of operation. I have never used a similar device like this so for me, I was completely amazed at the ease of use and clarity. The battery life is astronomical and picture seaming is very good with very little noticeable seams. I'm about to head to a BBQ now and get plenty of photos. No more for a need of panoramic photo shots. I look forward to the weekend to explore more features of the 360.

This is currently the best VR camera in it's price range. Good clean image, easy to use and durable. The ONLY drawback is it currently only works with Samsung Phones and Windows computers of which I have neither. BUT you can still use it without! The cameras a screen like the GoPro with all your menu info displayed so you can set your settings and record without a phone, you just don't have a preview... but you're shooting 360 so it's not that big of a deal. You will need a stitching program or a PC to combine the two shots. I'm on a Mac and using a Template made for Mettle Skybox in After Effects.

My experience with the Gear 360 camera has been a love hate so far. I love the 360 videos, the easy time-lapse set up, Google maps, and phone to camera integration, ease of use. It’s a well-made, well-constructed camera. The small but effective tripod that comes with the camera is not of cheap plastic design. And the fact is a Samsung to me make it well worth the few down falls I have found so far. Please remember this is my opinion of the Samsung Gear 360.The camera comes is a well put together package with the following items included. 1. Samsung Gear 360 camera 2. Nicely made tripod witch can double as a selfie stick of some sorts 3. Micro cloth for cleaning the lenses 4. Wrist strap 5. Carrying bag 6. USB cable for charging and file transfer’s (no wall charger included) 7. 1x Samsung Li-Ion 1350mAh Battery 8. 1 Samsung Micro SD card 32gb I shoot mostly videos with the Gear 360 camera; it’s a fun device you can take most anywhere in your daily travels. The camera mounts on a ¼ tripod mount screw type mount, and if you like me you own different type of action cameras (GP) and really don’t want to purchase a bunch of different mounts. This is easy to use your existing mounts, just purchase the adapter and you’re good to go. The camera only works at this time with the following type of phones. Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, Note 5, S7, S7, edge, and Note 7. I’ve head of apps that will let you use the gear 360 on other phones but I wouldn’t know this. The phone is NFC enabled, Dust and water resistance, is Bluetooth enabled, Wi-Fi capable, micro sd up to 200gb. You can use you Samsung VR head set to get a really cool VR experience with your videos, and pictures. Stitching the your videos, and pictures is easy as 1,2,3. You just down load by Wi-Fi from the camera to you phone, then select the files one at a time and let the phone do its magic, but this process will take some time, or I have found the fastest way of doing this is to hook the camera up to a computer, then hook you phone up to the computer and transfer the files into you gear 360 folder on your phone, this way you can stitch you videos, and pictures while on the go. All in all the Samsung Gear 360 is a fun camera for the whole family. Ok now for what I call the down fall parts of a review. But it’s not without its flaws some fixable, some not. What I can’t stand about the whole thing is the apparent stitching of the videos, the lack of heat control witch is apparent when your camera is in the sun or just heats up by the videos blurriness, or lack of sharpness, you can see the difference in the videos, and pictures as time goes on and the sharpness starts to fade a little. I have a couple of 4K action camera and the clarity is undeniable. I’ve read that this could be fixed with a firmware update to counter the problem. The camera its self is bulky, you just can’t throw it into your pocket, well you could but you might get some looks. The lack of MAC software for the Gear 360 Action director is a really bad decision by Samsung, hopefully Samsung with remedies this problem. I have used the Parallels desk top for my Mac book with Windows 10, but this rout does not work very well at all. If you shoot a lot of video like I do you will need to purchase another battery, you buy one here on Bestbuy for $40.00 at the time of this review. I would highly recommend this. Thank you

By far the most amazing 360 Camera on the market today. The size and portability of the device is unmatched. The ease of the set up and the simplicity of the software is great. I've used several 360 camera and this is by far the easiest. Since the first Galaxy S series phone, I've been with Samsung for most of their phones. I love all the Note phones. I like how I can used the camera with my phone and can control it from afar with Bluetooth. That way I don't have to be in the picture or video and can get a traumatic shot. I've used the camera every time I take my daughter to the park. To get to see her run around and get the full 360 view is amazing. I love this device the first time I've used it.

Very good camera for 360 video. Light weight. Easy to use. Good for beginners. It would be even better if the size is smaller.

What I like about the camera is that it's easy to follow the menu and begin filming. The picture quality is excellent and the sound is very clear as well. It's also pretty easy to download the app on the phone and connect the phone to the camera. You can see the pictures there with a little maneuvering. What begins to become complicated (and it may be because I haven't thoroughly read the instructions) is translating the photos to the PC for editing and eventually uploading to a media site. It takes quite a while for the photos to transfer from the phone to the PC as well, or even to import the media files into the software. I'm sure it will become a lot easier once I get a little more practice with it.
