This is a sleek looking, durable device that is very easy to use. Battery life is acceptable - about 3 days between charges. Seems to be able to accept notifications from a wide variety of applications. I have configured gmail, text messages, hangouts, phone calls, and weather updates. They all work great. One complaint is that the device "stacks" emails on top of each other as they come in so if you get a lot of emails you will see them repeatedly until they are opened. Also the heart monitor sucks so if you are buying it for that feature you might want to look elsewhere. I have the device paired with a Samsung Note IV and for the most part it works great. The Gearfit works perfectly with my Samsung S5. The sleep tracking and step counting work as good as you would expect. The surprise for me is how much more likely I am to get phone calls and messages. For work purposes my phone is always silenced, but now I know when they come in.

I have this hooked to my phone and I like getting the notifications on the Gear so I don't have to look at my phone. Some of the features on the Gear just stop working - like the exercise/walking feature and the stopwatch. I'll look at the Gear to discover that it hasn't tracked my walking for the past half hour or the stopwatch has just stopped and I don't know when it stopped. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars.

This a good way to work into the smart watch industry. For $80 we got a wearable extensions of our phone. Although its functionality is limited with the base apps it works great for finding your phone, tracking your sleep as well as your steps. It's a fun little watch that isn't too big on the wrist. The battery was lasting for about 3 days but has dropped off some. A little glitchy at times but nothing long lasting.

Watch Worked for a Couple of Weeks then Crashed

My gear fit was definitely a good buy when I purchased it, although after about a month it just stopped working. The watch itself was plugged in to recharge and when I attempted to turn it on to use it, it would continuously turn itself on and off without fulling loading. Luckily I purchased the Best Buy protection for the watch and gave it a second try only to be disappointed again with the same issue which then turned into it not working at all. To be fair I did like the pedometer which was relatively effective and the background of the watch was customizable which is a small benefit for the user. The heart rate monitor was mediocre, although you get what you pay for when it comes to this watch. If you're looking for accuracy this watch is definitely not the one for you. I would consider it more a functional novelty. If you do get this watch definitely get the best buy protection because that's one of the only things that saved me here.

Was already in the market for a fitbit type product when I was buying my new Samsung Edge, and happened to see this on the wall. Took a look and it seemed to check all the boxes I wanted: heart rate monitor, pedometer, track work outs in fact the clock and text messages were an added bonus. Now that I have had it I love it for a watch, text notifications and pedometer and I wear it daily. That being said what I originally wanted it for to track workouts, heart rate monitor is lacking and am actually looking for a unit specifically meant for working out. Smudges on the glass can often interupt the heart rate function, which can happen mid work out. Also the lack of a "work out" mode in the presets hurts. Its nice for outdoor walks/runs or even bike rides, but loses a lot of functionality in a contained gym setting. To be fair I havent spent a lot of time learning about the integrated samsung fit app and how using the two together for my workouts will work. Overall great for the price and everyday use as a watch+, but look elsewhere for a true workout tracking "watch"

Thankfully I purchased it before reading bad reviews online. I have a Samsung phone so it syncs well with it. I bought it only for the pedometer but enjoy all the other features - watch, previewing txt and calls. Only thing I don't like so far is that it will pause counting steps and I don't know that I hit something to make that happen. Also I use the elyptical and there's no activity option for that.

On my second one; initial trouble with Bluetooth connection, required tech help. Screen stopped after 3 weeks, Samsung Cust Service very poor - BUT, took it to Samsung desk at Best Buy and was offered immediate replacement. Besides step counter and sleep, apps for texts, email, flashlight work excellently.

I like this product because it does more than count steps, it has a few phone related features that I think are cool. The snooze feature for my phones alarm is my favorite. Seeing a text or who is calling before reaching for my phone is also cool. I try to use the sleep monitor, but sometimes forget to start/stop it. I've only used the heart rate monitor a couple of times, but it seems neat too. I'm glad my wife talked me into getting us one. oh yeah, and the normal watch function is great too.

This is my third fitness tracker. I had a fitbit flex (that somehow got lost while hiking), a fitbit surge HR and now this. I couldn't use the surge due to the band causing an alergic reaction to my skin. Pro's: Has settings on screen brightness Better integration as a smart watch and settings for notifications. Also with the Surge there seemed to be a lag when phone calls would come in. Not so with this. Has integrated stopwatch and timer functions. Has Device finder to find your phone when you arent sure where you set it down! Also blue tooth range is better than my wireless headphones. Integration with Samsung health is a huge plus as I like all the options you can have with free workouts to change things up. Cons: Not as accurate with steps compared to surge HR but it's not that far off to be a major problem. HR monitor is not always active. Sleep mode has to activated. (I didn't find this to be abig issue as I take my monitor off at night. No tracking for steps. I did not find an issue with the battery to be bad. I typically charge it when I am driving to or from work or at night while sleeping. The battery does charge fast. I would also suggest you get a screen protector. Unfortunately I live in North East Ohio and it is February so I cannot comment on screen brightness on a bright day. If they can add GPS and stair counting than this would be perfect.

I purchased this gear fit for my daughter for Christmas. Her husband also bought her one so I bought that one from them for myself. This is the most versatile Fitness device I have ever owned. My phone calls, emails, text messages and Facebook notifications all show up here. There is an app available on my note 5 that allow me to originate phone calls on my gear fit and they are completed on my note 5. I have my alarm set on my note 5 and I can either turn it off or use the snooze feature right from my fit. I don't know how I ever survived without this device! Oh yes, and it's great for tracking fitness and sleep.

Love the Samsung Gear Fit! I've been wearing it now for the last 2 months and knowing how many steps I'm getting in a day, especially on slow days, keeps me motivated to constantly keep moving and work towards my overall weight loss goal. My wife bought a FitBit, she loves her FitBit but even she concedes that convenience of being able to dismiss your calls with a preprogrammed text message is a convenient feature. Couple of drawbacks: I wish like the FitBit it would automatically calculate sleep/resting periods instead of having to prompt it do that. Also I wish like the FitBit it would calculate elevation. It does sometimes mistake just hand movements for steps so that can be annoying. The other day we were folding a couple of really large loads of laundry and I ended up with an additional 1000+ steps. Also I wish I could change the orientation of the clock and the step counter. The preset for chasing the orientation of the clock works only for dual time zone clocks. Other than that I love my Gear Fit, it's holds a charge for an average of 3 days sometimes 4 depending on how busy I am and how many notifications/calls I get. So far it charges pretty quickly, when I remember to charge it! Love the screen and how I customize my notifications from my Apps. Having seen the new Apple iWatch, I'm a little jealous though, as I wish it had all those features too!

I came from a jawbone24. And so far it's just ok.yes it's nice having the display and all that fancy stuff but the battery life is only two days at best. And the sleep mode if you forget to turn it off it will stay on well till you turn it off. The JB would turn off after a short time. And to charge this unit you dont just plug into the unit itself you will need to attach the charging unit and then attach the charging cord to that device. However it hasn't fallen apart like the 4 JB units I had before this. It doesn't get cough up on things like the JB did so that is a plus and it reports to my Samsung phone. At the time I have it set to report. I hope they work on the battery life issue, that seems to be the biggest issue I have with the product. If the jawbone24 would report to my phone I would have not bought this product.

Purchased this when I needed to get serious about how I take care of myself. It does a great job counting steps, checking your heart rate, and tracking your exercise and sleep. Paired with S Health, it can really change how you view and track your health decisions. Has several options for appearance and isn't as large as many fitness watches. Not a total "phone" watch, but you can read texts (just not type a reply), see who is calling, and pair it with your phone's alarm clock function. I have always had several watches for different occasions, but this has been the only one I have worn since purchasing it.

This watch is a nice transition from my step counter. It is easy to use, works very well with my phone, and the battery life is very good. It dies not have as many apps available ad other smart watches on the market, but there are enough to make itvuseful. I was disappointed that I had to purchase the messaging aop, as that is by far the feature that I use the most.
