For being a geek squad certified refurbished product I was pleasantly surprised. Looked brand new to me. I used it to upgrade my HDD in my old 2012 MacBook Pro. so so so happy I upgraded to an SSD. My MacBook Pro feels like a brand new computer with the upgraded RAM I put in at the same time. 10/10 would recommend this SSD.

Just initialize it in Windows 10 and it works fine. I have converted my PC to SSD drives, and love the performance. Got a 1 TB SSD at Best Buy an Black Friday for $150 - I recommend switching over to SSD if you haven't yet.

Samsung's 860 EVO series arguably is the most highly rated consumer SSDs out there albeit a bit pricier that other brands. That said, the cheapskate in me decided to purchase a Geek Squad refurbished 500GB SSD for 35% less than the current selling price. Given that the unit was Geek Squad certified and the EVO series has a five year warranty, I felt that it was worth it to get a refurbished. And I'm glad I did. Installation to my aging AMD A10 based desktop was a breeze. And as expected, the speed of my computer was greatly increased. And upon inspection, total run time was only 3 hours and total writes amounting to 0.5 TB. Also checking the manufacturing date at June 2019 makes my warranty up to June 2024. By registering my SSD at the Samsung website, I was able to further confirm that the warranty was until 2024. By that time, there is no need to say that my system would already be obsolete by that time. So basically I got a barely used SSD for much less. This is definitely a good buy!

There were no bad sectors or damage to this drive. Works well. Samsung migration software worked great and was fast. I had my old hhd copied to this ssd in 10 minutes and my computer was up and running and booting up in 3 seconds. Samsung make some of the fastest and most durable ssds. Don't be afraid to by bestbuy refurbished.

Bought this to upgrade my 2012 MacBook Pro. The hardware and software installation was simple and it seriously upgraded the speed of my old MacBook. Being an SSD it should greatly outlast the old hard drive. I choose Samsung because of the great reliability I got from there phones.

This SSD worked well and shipped quickly! It made a huge difference in the speed of the laptop I installed it in versus the old mechanical hard drive. I would definitely recommend BestBuy for your next tech purchase!

bought this to finally upgrade my stock Macbook pro 13inch mid 2012 HDD which was only 5400 speed and was a disc drive. This SSD has turned my dated pre-college macbook pro into a beast! I can boot my laptop, applications and basically anything in less than a few seconds! I also completely wiped my HDD and started with a fresh Mac OS on this drive and then added back my apps/files. I also maxed out my previously 8GB ram setup with a full 16GB of ram. This machine now runs as fast as any new Macbook pro on the market (or very close). My Processor might only be duel core, but it's a Intel i7 none the less, and with this new ram and this SSD of 1TB, I am able to open and run any Adobe software simultaneously with Spotify running and web browsing on youtube with almost zero loading times!

This is my second Samsung 860 EVO drive and (knock on wood) I haven't had any problems with them so far. They deliver consistent fast speeds without any hiccups and their great reputation is accurately described.

great deal on a hard drive. Took forever to fresh load a Mac OS that would work on my old 2011 MacBook Pro, but once I got that installed, was still slow, so replaced the hard drive cable for $15 & the laptop now boots up in literally 2 seconds, & everything opens in an instant

I have purchased over 100 of these Geek Squad Samsung SSD’s for my business and everyone work great. I figured I would get a bad one here and there but never have I had one not work or later not work. I would rather have this open box Samsung then other brands that have died on me throughout the years I do have a complaint, but it has to do with shipping. If you buy more than 1, each one will come in a fairly large box and sometimes I buy over 20. It’s a huge mess and fill up my recycle bin if I don’t break down each box. BestBuy can easily fit 20 in 1 box and save me the time to break down all the boxes. Its sounds easy but trust me it takes time. Plus, it’s better for the environment. Overall, I will continue to buy these SSD's and I appreciate the cost saving BestBuy offers.

I put a new one of these in a desktop and couldn't believe the performance improvement. Decided to take a chance on a refurb model for the laptop. No issues at all. Glad I saved the money and went with the refurb,

Took a chance and got one of these refurbished SDDs. Saved me a couple of dollars but saves me from the frustration of booting up from HDD! I had a four year old Dell XPS desktop that was just sitting around. It had decent spec..i7, 16gb ram, dedicated Nvidia graphics. Good enough for browsing, streaming, and Stadia games. BUT HDD took forever to load anything! This Samsung SDD completely modernized an old 4 year old computer! I actually enjoy using this old computer now that everything loads fast. Even the Windows 10 updates are faster. Oh...and I couldn't even tell that this was a refurbished unit. Totally worth it!

I replaced my 5 year old Toshiba laptop's hard drive with this and added a little ram, and the laptop runs faster than new with Windows 10. Very high quality SSD, very fast.

I am a SSD installer. I have probably bought over 50 SSDs in the last year for installation, Samsung is my #1 go to. Excellent speeds and have never had one fail! They are AAA+++

It used to be that adding RAM was the easiest and cheapest way to speed up a slow computer. That never addressed the real bottleneck of a computer, which is the hard drive. I had a customer complaining that they probably needed a new computer even though theirs was only a little over a year old. Knowing that they had a standard platter-style hard drive, I suggested this. Boy is she glad that I did! Saved her hundreds of dollars on a new computer and likely thousands on lost time waiting for her computer to 'compute' as her entire business relies on her computer to make her money.

Usually I don't buy refurbished/used when it comes to HDD's/SSD's just for reliability reasons but it's one of the fastest 500GB SSD's you can find around this price-point, all the reviews are positive and it's half the price of what it costs new, so I figured it was worth a shot. I just went back and bought a second one to put in another computer. So far I'm not disappointed - I would definitely recommend.

Samsung makes top of the line SSD and got a good deal on this refurbished product during holidays. Extremely satisfied with its performance and its very easy to install

I was going to buy a new computer, installed this drive and my 7 year old i7 Toshiba is very fast. I did a clean install of windows because I wanted to remove any possibility of virus or malware. Excel and Word open in under 2 seconds. I can internally transfer 477 Meg/sec now.

I owe a few of these drives. Had to return my recent purchase due to the fact that there is only a 90 day warranty with these drives. Samsung will not give the 5 yr warranty due to the fact that they have not refurbished them. I think the price is too high only to get a 90 day warranty.
