I can understand that when buying an open-box item there’s a risk that some parts might be missing, but in this case, out of seven components, only one was included — a real waste of time, especially after driving 30 minutes across the city to pick it up.

I purchased the Samsung HW-Q850D soundbar with high hopes, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a major disappointment. From the start, I noticed static and distorted noise when the volume was set under level 12. At first, I thought it might be a setup issue, but after troubleshooting with Samsung support and trying all their recommended solutions (including updating firmware and checking connections), the problem persisted. It became clear that the soundbar was defective. For the price, I expected better quality and a functional product. Very frustrating experience overall. I returned this soundbar and upgraded to the HW-Q910D and it works perfect and the sound is absolutely amazing, but I would not recommend the HW-Q850D soundbar.

Wireless always cutes out

Sound cutes out once in awhile, but when its working its great
I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the sound occasionally dropping from your HW-Q850D Soundbar. You may first want to check the cable connection of the soundbar to the TV or external device to ensure it is secure, and properly connected to the correct port.
In addition to checking the connections of the soundbar, please make sure your soundbar is using the latest firmware Version. Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. You can update your firmware by using a USB device.
You may also want to initialize your soundbar by pressing the - and + (volume) buttons on the top of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset. Please know, this will reset all settings on the soundbar back to default; any sound adjustments will need to be performed again.
Should you continue to experience audio dropouts, and are connected wirelessly, please use the included cable to connect the soundbar to the TV. Using a wired connection instead of wireless often eliminates the issue entirely and improves the user experience.

BestBuy did me dirty and sold me a half-functional

I love this Samsung soundbar! My issue is with Best Buy I purchased this as an open-box item, knowing that minor things might be missing (which is why the price is lower). The product description only mentioned minor cosmetic damage like "scratches and bumps"—it did NOT mention that the key rear speaker module was missing.
If I had known this crucial component was absent, I would not have purchased it. Best Buy misled me by listing a fundamentally incomplete system. The staff was then unhelpful and unwilling to resolve the issue, leaving me with a half functional sound system
I highly recommend the soundbar itself, but I strongly caution future buyers against purchasing from Best Buy, as their descriptions may be inaccurate and they will not help you when a core component is missing.

Outstanding, seamless pairing to my samsung qled tv
We appreciate you taking a moment to review the Samsung HW-Q850D Soundbar.
Occasionally, customers have trouble hiding and running speaker wires from the front of the room (where their soundbar is) to the back of their room (where they have their rear speakers). The Rear Speaker Kit eliminates that hassle. Connect the rear speakers to its wireless module and place these three in the back of your room. One wire is required to connect each rear speaker to the wireless module. Then plug in the power cable to the module. The “wireless” convenience is in connecting your soundbar and any other speakers at the front of the room to the rear speakers.

Let me be clear. Crystal. If you buy a sound bar with satellite speakers open box - Excellent the rear speakers have a better than 50% chance of not being in there. I have rolled the dice twice and yes you guessed it missing satelite speakers. They have the worst inspection team on returns. Not sure if its incopetance or just not caring but its irritating as a customer. Bought new on third purchase on this so cant offer a hardware review yet.
