Customers consistently note the motion sensor's ease of use, reliable motion detection, and long battery life. Many appreciate its small size and responsiveness, as well as its compatibility with other smart home devices and temperature monitoring capabilities. However, some customers have expressed a desire for a more versatile mount.

Great zigbee motion sensor

Item works great! I use it in my bathroom so that when I walk in during the night, it turns on one of 3 of my zigbee light bulbs on the vanity to 40%. I have had another one for about 1 year, have changed the battery once.
I use Home assistant on a Raspberry pi 4 with a zigbee and leave usb dongle.

While I like the sensor, the sticky side is really bad. The sensor fell off in 3 weeks.

This product is awesome. The sensitivity is wide and far. It is a zigbee device so you will need the smartthings hub, but because it runs locally, the response time is immediate. I use it in my room to turn on the light whenever I go in. Also, this has a temperature sensor built-in, so I could ask google assistant what the temperature is upstairs. Battery life is great too. I've been using it for a week now, and it's still 100%.

Bought several of these sensors to monitor movement in the different rooms in our home. The magnetic mount makes it a breeze when you need to replace the battery. Make sure you clean the spot you're going to attach the mount on with alcohol so it sticks properly. With Alexa routines you can make Alexa announce which motion sensor was triggered and program what times the sensors will be monitoring motion. It also has a temp sensor which you can use to trigger fans on and off. I'm still trying to find the plug-in for it so it will work with Homekit.

If you are running a Smartthings system these are the very first accessories you should purchase. They can trigger many actions as well as monitor temperatures. I have these sensors in every room of my house. I have them set to turn lights on and off as I enter and exit rooms. I haven't needed to flip a physical light switch in a year.

I have several of these in my house to turn on lights when someone enterers a room, hallway or stairwell. They are very sensitive and don't burn through batteries quickly. My favorite ones are located in a couple of closets. The closet light turns on before I can finish opening the door. Small and versatile with the magnetic ball mount. You can literally stick them anywhere.

I bought this to manage lighting in my basement. Overall it seems to do well detecting motion. It's small so it's not very noticeable at all, giving you more placement options. Since it's a SamrtThings product, it connects easily to my SmartThings hub and allows me to automatically turn on lights and turn them off if no motion is detected for a specified time.

I was debating if to go with this or other more expensive sensors. I'm so glad that I went with this one. It works really well, and very responsive. Some sensors have major delays, which are not practical to use for turning on lights when the sensor is tripped. This little guy is pretty responsive. In addition to motion sensing, it monitors temperature. It also let's you know the battery level. Speaking of which, 1 month uses around 25%, so batteries may last around 4 months give or take.
I use it with the Samsung Smarthings Hub. I have several around the house without breaking the bank. Excellent all around.
Hope this review is helpful.

Very small sensor so it works just about anywhere. I like the fact that it is very sensitive and it doesn’t have a wait time for rediscovering motion. Also it works great with other non-SmartThings devices and that helps a lot. I will be buying at least one maybe two more.

Was initially unsure how this would go, but surprisingly works well with SmartThings. This is the new model motion sensor. Connected quickly (using the new version of the SmartThings app). I have this in my kitchen to activate the main kitchen lights (I have 3 Phillips Hue lights in the fixture). Walk in the room, the lights come on. I have SmartThings and Hue talking together (using the SmartThings Hub and a Phillips Hue Bridge on the network together). My kids are still trying to figure out where the motion sensor is (ha!). Anyway, SmartThings was easy to configure and no more fumbling to find a light switch in the middle of the [dark] night... I will be adding more motion sensors to other rooms as this certainly works for me.. And, I am using Google Assistant (and a smart speaker) so voice activated commands will turn the lights on/off as well...

This is my second motion sensor, I use it to monitor temps so I can track changes in temp to compare to smart thermostat. It is also works great as a motion detector for security system. It was easy to pair with ST hub.

This device performs exactly as expected. I installed it in my garage, then set up an automation to notify my cell when motion is detected. If the garage door opens, it tells me. If anyone enters the garage it tells me, and these notifications arrive almost instantaneously. I haven't tested the range, but I think it detects cars passing down our street (if the garage door is open). The magnetic ball mount is a nice idea too allowing easy pointing of the sensor and removal to replace the CR 2 battery. I'm not sure about the battery life yet (so only 4 stars) but otherwise this one is a great product, and I anticipate that I will buy at least one or two more to add to my system.

Using with Alexa to control a wemo plug. Have it set to flash light when motion detected. Limitation in Alexa which can't just toggle a light from current state. As a result, the light is set to flash but will always end up being off. Wish the mount was more easily movable. Will try to use command strips for this.

So, if you have a SmartThings setup, you'll have or need several of these. Not only is it a motion sensor, but it also has a temperature sensor in it as well. For me, the temp feature is just one less sensor I'd have to buy and place somewhere, as I'm checking temps in different areas/levels of my home. Really these things are pretty superfluous, but they are cool. I have mine setup outside my bedroom door, and have an activity set that between certain hours in the morning (range when wife and i get ready for work), if the TV is off and/or the downstairs light is off, when it senses us leaving to head down, it will turn all that on for us so we can't be hassled with flipping a switch or hitting a button like mere mortals. Is this a necessary thing for most, of course not. Is it a handy thing that can make simple little things more convenient, heck yeah! And I'm not using this to its potential honestly, as there is so much more it can be made to do. Def must buy if you in the SmartThings universe, and pretty cheap too I think.

So I use the SAMSUNG Smartthings motion detectors in multiple places to look for motion at night mostly. it does an excellent job of motion detection as well as letting me know what the current temperature in that room is. I haven't had any issues with it yet and the battery seems to be holding very well.

I replaced a much older version with this one, because the older one was starting to fail. This one works like it is supposed to. It even exceeds the advertised range, which is good, because I wanted it to pick up across my dining and living rooms.

This version doesn't stand up on it's own and has to be on the stationary ball mount. That limits where it can be placed. I want to move the mount and it's now stuck to the glass. I'll need to use a razor to remove and then have no adhesive to place it in a different location. The old model was square and did not need a mount.

Wow, these work great. I have three of them. Now I don't have to tell Alexa to turn on the lights. The Motion Detection capability works better than expected.
The set up was simple, and immediately showed up in the Alexa App.
I use one to turn on the Den Lights when someone walks into the room, and trigger it. In the Routine, I have it set to turn the lights off if it doesn't pick up any motion for ten minutes, this way the lights don't stay on all day. I also told it not to trigger after a certain time, on certain days.
I have one in the Bedroom that I have programmed similarly.
The third one, is in the Garage and I have a Routine that the Motion Sensor turns on a light when you walk up to the door before you enter the house. I have it stay on for 5 minutes, and then turn off.

Easy to set up in the smartthings ecosystem, I use it by setting up the sensor to activate a chime and turn on the lights in my bedroom allowing me to fight the ghosts and poltergeists that have taken over my home. This was a cheap easy solution to fight back against the power of evil short of hiring a sketchy priest setting up the stations of the cross in my double wide.
