Best Cost x Benefit Chromebook, but with points...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This chromebook in fact surprised me in many factors, being almost perfect, with some minor points to be addressed in a possible V3. Pros: - Excellent finish/quality (at least this aluminum case version) - Great screen quality, brightness and touch sensibility - Comfortable keyboard (keys size and disposition) and touchpad - 128GB disk is much more than enough for a chromebook - Intel m3 does the work, supporting even heavier usages - Embedded pen is a must, facilitating a lot during transport Cons: - Lack of back-lit keyboard (almost unjustifiable for this level) - Screen too heavy, unbalancing it and shakes during typing - No 8GB RAM option, but as is SSD, it kind of compensates Summarizing, I only didn't give it 5-start due to back-lit (and the previous Pro version had, go figure...)

Doesn’t feel premium

Chromebook - no thanks...
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We ended up returning this item and bought a new i-Pad instead. The Chromebook just didn't do what we had hoped and so we belatedly decided it was worth paying more for a different solution. No return hassles from BestBuy and not a knock against the product itself - just a changed decision on our part after trialing the Chromebook for a few days.

Good chromebook but mediocre speed and reception.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture is good, but the sound and speed of the CPU is below average. I don't think I would switch from Windows.

Does exactly what I need it to
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little computer is a whiz. I will preface with the fact I originally bought a defective build, but they were able to exchange quickly. It's been almost 6 months since I swapped it out and no problems whatsoever. I use it primarily for web surfing and watching media and it can handle those both those things super well. The keyboard feels great, screen is beautiful, and love the convertible feature. I use this as a tablet a lot on planes and when doing the NYT crossword. Battery lasts 8-10 hours with light use and charges quickly. I had a tablet with keyboard before this and don't regret moving to a convertible 2 in 1 at all

Blown Away
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought this at Best Buy today and I'm shocked. I read many reviews and thought I'd be compromising a bit with the Plus V2. Let me tell you - this device is an absolute steal for $399, which is what Best Buy is selling it for. The screen is beautiful, the build quality is impeccable, and the m3 processor is lightning fast. If you're tempted to get something higher-end because you think you need an i3, i5, or i7 processor, I strongly recommend you consider carefully the use cases for all that horsepower.... As I write this review, I'm pushing a 4K external monitor, streaming The Last Jedi, I've got about ten tabs open, and another four or five Android apps I downloaded from the Play Store, and the processor is blazing through it all without a stutter. If you're a programmer, then I can understand wanting heavier spex, but for 95% of chromebook users, the Plus V2 is an absolute beast. I'll update this review if I find a reason to qualify my first impressions, but I thought I'd get this review out there soon, because this chromebook is functionally a high end model for a very reasonable price that anyone who's on the fence should definitely consider.

Great build quality and display, on-board pen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After trying the HP Chromebook X2 and this Samsung Chromebook Plus V2 m3, I discovered that I prefer a convertible over a detachable, and prefer a garaged stylus over other types of stylus storage. These are both personal preferences, but they affected which Chromebook was right for me. Performance is great, and Linux and Android apps have all run fine so far. The keyboard is excellent, with great tactile feedback and it's relatively quiet. I'd prefer the speakers on the display like the HP, but the bottom-firing speakers on this are adequate. The touchpad is responsive and works well.

Fast, but chromeOS had sandboxing issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The machine is perky, responsive, and IF you can find it for under 350 probably a reasonably good deal. Remember, as devices shift to solid state memory the price tags are initially high but should drop over time. The m3 mobile cpu is clearly on the right track for both performance and low power, but Intel seems to be slow-walking their low-power chip development and this chromebook definitely was too warm for the lap without a heat barrier below it. Due to either the way chromeOS runs in a sandbox or Samsung's settings, no app for chromecasting a local file worked. All of the developers contacted were unable to work around this problem, and none have enough information from Google or from Samsung for a solution. (Chromecast enabled apps that receive their content from elsewhere did work, including Netflix and of course yt).

BUYER BEWARE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer was great until I opened and hinge broke away from screen. Cracked screen, now unusable. Samsung won't stand behind product even though it is a known issue with a class action lawsuit against them for this same issue. BUYER BEWARE of any samsung chromebooks with this same hinge.

Don't waste your money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't waste your money on a Samsung chromebook. My daughter has had this one for less than a year, and we've had to take it in 3 times now to be repaired. The thing won't charge after awhile, and that's with parts being replaced on it twice. Save yourself the headache and money and pick a different brand.
