I got 2 of these R5's to use as rear surround speakers to go with my top of the line 8500 series soundbar and 9000 series TV. Setup was more complicated than it should be and I'm technically blessed. Once I got it all figured out the R5's were just to powerful even after turning them down all the way and the soundbar up all the way. Every time they kicked on they just over powered the soundbar. So I went and got a pair of R1's and they work great as long as they are turned down all the way also. I kept the R5's to use elsewhere in the house for Music.

I returned my entire Samsung Radiant set and replaced them with one of every sonos speaker. The sonos sound MUCH better, dont distort like the samsungs did, the software works better. These samsung radiant speakers sound good at low volume, but once they go over about 60% they start to distort, the bass drops off and they sound hallow. With the sonos bridge, it creates its own network for the speakers that wont choke up my WiFi. I had problems with these speakers staying connected if i had more than two on at a time. There is no competing product like the sonos bridge/boost. These are samsungs second attempt at around the house speakers, and they are better than gen 1, but still need quite a bit of work all around. Overall, Sonos still owns the home speaker market. One thing thats great about the R5 (that the rest of the Radiant series doesnt have) is that it can connect wirelessly to any newer Samsung tv. Use the TV Connect option in the samsung app on your phone to connect the two, and thats it. So if you ARENT interested in a whole home set up, but maybe just looking for a bass boost on your tv setup without breaking the bank, this is a good place to look.

Small for storage and easy to set up. Great sound quality for tv and music

Cons: setup can be anywhere from 10 seconds to 3 days. Firmware upgrades must be installed from a computer to a blank usb drive, then installed from the drive to the speaker. The primary control app is... temperamental. Sometimes it performs flawlessly, sometimes it decides you don't need main and primary features, sometimes it denies the existence of your speakers. Pros: using these speakers to augment surround sound is easy after setup. Grouping speakers together is easy. Ungrouping is easy. Controlling speakers together or independently is easy. There are hubs available, no longer on the market because they are unnecessary. The sound is beautiful. I possess no music that it cannot play better than 95% of other speakers. Everything is adjustable. Touch and no touch commands work correctly. They look elegant and punk, futuristic and retro, simplistic and overdesigned. They seem to look at home with most any decor. Why Samsung isn't continuing this system or these speakers is (honestly because no one wants to pay that much for them, especially when the app is so incomplete) incomprehensible to me. These speakers are best in places where people will be on all sides of them as Samsung really took the 360 part of the name to heart. There are no dead zones in the sound. Lacking such a place, corners seem to wrap the sound around you like a wave of audio. They have multiple ways of connecting to audio sources, WiFi, Bluetooth, soundconnect, and aux. These suckers take a bit of work and patience that is rewarded with high audio quality and volume. I think the only reason sonos is doing better is Samsung's poor marketing and the app. Why else would people pay more for lower sound quality and less functionality?

This is a great speaker. Fairly easy to setup. Not compatible with all music from your phone. But a lot of stuff you can use... and the sound is really good. And the sound gets even better with multi speakers set up around the house... I like them, you need to be a little savvy to get it started but not to bad..

R5 provides great sound with a very small footprint. the sound is very clear. does not .distort at reasonable volume levels. Also sound great when two or three combined and playing the same music in different rooms of the home. I love the whole house control feature. The Samsung R5 is very clear at multiple locations. of the room.

It has great sound for such a little speaker & bass

The speaker was easy to pair, the sound is good but could be better. The bass and mid are very clear, but the high is not as clear. All in all I would recommend it to others.

I am a serious audiophile, I have Bluetooth speakers in my house, in my car I have speakers that are acoustically staged and whatnot. What I can tell you about this speaker is that it gets really loud using its Proprietary technology that balances sound and truly gives you a 360 degrees of immersive sound, just don’t crank it past 35. The bass will go into protect mode and then lower the overall volume vocally, I wouldn’t really call this distortion because it doesn’t crackle or anything just gets noticeably quieter. Overall it serves its purpose!

i was hesitant to purchase this because it ws an open box. but it does not lack anything a new one does have. I am ble to stream music from any smart devices, able to use it and play TV sound especially when in the kitchen and a bit further from the TV built in speakers. But it and love it!

Overall a really good speaker, very easy to work with

I researched all of the multi room speakers online and in the stores. Because I purchased a Samsung TV and Soundbar it made sense to get the Radiant to go with it. There is a learning curve setting it up only because there are so many ways to do it. Once up and running it's great. Everything turns on and off from the tv remote. Single volume. Excellent surround sound whether watching a movie or streaming music.

Great sound quality! Plenty of bass, but doesn't diminish the clarity. It can get very loud when you want or need it to. Love it, to say the least!

when you down load the Samsung app. you can adjust music with a EQ the volume fill the room the only problem is I am still trying to Bluetooth 2 at the same time that way I do not cerate anew play list the Samsung personal at BestBuy did not how other then that I would give them a 5 star rating .

Over all these are great love how they linked to each other the sound is good when it's good but sometimes it has issues with it quiet and not allowing the TV to go any louder that is the only downfall to these speakers unsure why they do this sometimes love the Bluetooth though

I purchased Samsung Radiant360 R5 Speaker to give us the surround sound, theater style. I had my speakers set up through wi-fi to my Samsung T.V., giving me the sound I was looking for. I now have it set-up through bluetooth. I love the sound these speakers give off. Just wish Samsung didn't change the multi-room app! I can play songs directly off my phone to the speakers!

I wanted a wireless speaker I could use in the kitchen that would work well with my Samsung TV, could stream radio (my wife listens to NPR all weekend) and work with various music streaming services, There is no app for Apple music but the Bluetooth connection works well enough. The primary use is for audio for a Samsung 32 inch TV I have in the kitchen for this it connects seamlessly. The sound is excellent and is louder than I would ever play it at. The bass is not thumping, so if that would be a problem you probably should look at something else. For true stereo you would need two of these and that would be a price point you also might want to consider other options.

I already have a couple of R1s so when I saw the price of the R5 it was a no Brainerd to buy even though I wasn't looking for more speakers. use this in the office and it easily fills the room with sound. The update multiroom app is much easier to use than before as well. this won't replace a sound bar but amazing sound out of such a small speaker

This Bluetooth speaker has excellent sound quality. I currently use it in my room and the sound quality suites the room just fine. I can not speak on the wi-fi features at this time (using just one) but I have not experienced any issue with the blue tooth. It was definitely worth it.

This is an awesome speaker!!! It fills the room with so much sound and is so clear. Very easy to pair up and start listening to. I would recommend this speaker for those that need a speaker that doesn't take up to much room and has awesome sound.
