Well im replacing a 9 year old Pioneer DVD Player with this. I read the reviews on here and it scared me. I searched and searched for a Blu Ray that has all the options I wanted and this is the only one I could come up with. Would have bought it new but was not offered, only refurb. The features on this Blu Ray are fantastic. I love the fact that there are so many ways to connect to your tv as well as the built in Hard Drive. I am running video through HDMI and my audio through the digital audio since my Onkyo 7.1 Receiver is only pass through. Set Up was a breeze! It basically did the whole thing and found my WiFi network almost instant. NO ISSUES! Playing a disk has an excellent picture, as sound. I Love the amount of Apps on it. I have played a few YouTube videos and there is no probs there. I wanted this model because I can play files off my PC on it through the All Share feature. Havent tested it yet but im sure there will be no issues. The Buttons being on the top of the unit isnt my favorite but is not a deal breaker. As far as looks, the unit is slick! Has lighting on the front and top of it. Really looks high tech. My only complaint so far is that trying to type text is a huge pain! You have to type with the remote using a numeric keypad. So using Facebook on it can be rather tedious. Thats why It only gets 4 stars instead of 5. I do recomend this unit to anyone who is shopping for a Blu Ray that has all the bells and whistles. Especially the price of the refurb unit. You aren not gonna find anything better especially for the money.

This was my first refurbished purchase through Best Buy. I couldn't be more happier with the product. It arrived in brand new condition with all accessories. Only difference is that batteries are not included. As far as the BD-C6900, its a terrific unit with lots of apps and fast start time. The USA today and Facebook apps aren't that polished looking, like their web counterparts. I'm a web developer and designer and I wish those apps matched the web. I liked the Pandora app for listening to music. Back to the player. Design is excellent. The translucent top with lighting that shows the disc spinning is cool. You can even turn off the light in settings. The redesigned menu is easy on the eyes and you can even change out the background "skin".

I have to say that some people must be lucky and got a unit that worked. I got this unit free with a television purchase and I had problems right away with it. The first is the extremely long time it takes to start playing. I have had others and this was by far the longest. My major problem was with the touch sensitive buttons on the top of the unit. They worked fine and one day they stopped responding, within the first week. Hit the power button hard, soft, or in-between and nothing....All the other buttons were not responding either. I wouldn't care about this but the eject button on it wouldn't work either so I had to carry the remote up to the unit with me every time I wanted to put in or take out a disk. I figured out that only by unplugging the HDMI cord would make them work again. I did an update in case anyone thinks that was it and nothing worked. Then it stopped responding to the remote also. Ok fine, I got a bad one. So I took it back to exchange it for another one. Got it home, worked fine for a couple days, then same thing. It's buttons were not responding. So I took it back and got a third, fourth, and fifth unit. I am not an old man that doesn't understand electronics so you can't blame me for this as the buttons should work no matter what. I finally got a Panasonic player and it has worked flawlessly since. I even think the Panasonic has a better picture and the start up time was fast. Both were internet connected with wifi, so that can't be a difference. I also have a PS3 that works flawlessly with this set up also in 3d. So in the end, I am impressed with Best Buy in that they worked this out and buy a Sony or Panasonic Blue Ray player and save yourself a headache. On a side note, I called Samsung tech support also and the guy on the phone told me that I "needed" to run a fiber optic cable to my receiver to get audio in full surround because HDMI wasn't designed for surround audio. This shows that they don't train their people at all and don't waste your time as this is all they thought was causing my buttons to not work. Laughable to say the least.

This was a top-rated model and gave me everything i wanted, including 3D for the future, wi-fi so i could stream netfilx and other services to my TV. Picture is great --- features are great. Since it's refurbished I got a great price but did add $20 geek squad support, so i won't be left in the dark.

    HORRIBLE

I bought this BluRay for my husband in Feb 2011. Ever since we brought it home, it has had a mind of its own. From turning on unexpectedily, to opening the DVD compartment while watching cable and it switching sources from cable to DVD and then starting up the movie. I have been on the phone with Samsung plenty of times to restore to factory settings, and everything else. They told me it should not happen anymore which in face its tons worse. Trying to watch an hour and half movie will take me 2 days with all the opening the DVD compartment and having to restart. Thats just one issue. Now one main reason we got this one was the ability to watch Netflix through it wireless. Well, it always prompts us that there is no signal, that we need to update the software, once we do get into netflix and try to start a movie/show it will take 10 minutes for it to load. Our cable box is just in the room next to it so there should be NO reason it does not have a signal. All around this has been a horrible product. *The remote it came with, has no Menu button on the device so to skip all the commericals in the beginning of the DVD is a no go. Also, if you want to type in a word it tries to spell it out for you so just trying to write something for it to search is a pain.* HORRIBLE HORRIBLE If you happen to want to buy this device, GET the extended warranty!!!

    Awful support

Worked well, with some difficulty setting up wireless network, until wifi suddenly stopped working. Tried everything, called support and they were unable to get it to connect. Sent for repair (labor warranty is only 90 days and they wanted to charge $50). They were nice enough to extend labor warranty but then sent unit back without touching it. Had network instructions taped to unit, with yellow highlights! Same problems, could not get wifi to function. Purchased competitor's unit and set it up successfully in a few minutes. Unfortunately, this degree of customer service is par for the course - most products are great but if there is a flaw you are just supposed to buy a new one. Mine won't be Samsung!

Don't know what the bad ratings from other users is about. Had no trouble with anything. Great buy, for a quality Samsung product.

this unit can not compare to anything...it even makes my old dvds look as crystal clear as possible. i recently purchased another companies top model 3d blu-ray player and it did not compare to this Samsung unit. Fast Loading time, easy set up, you can even change the background color haha
