Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the sound quality of the wireless rear speakers, often forgetting they are there and mistaking sounds for real-life occurrences. The easy plug-and-play setup is also appreciated. However, some customers have concerns about the volume not being loud enough and compatibility issues with certain center speakers.

Several other reviews were disappointed with volume of these. I bought the sound bar first and just wanted that extra sound behind me. These did what they are intended to do, give sounds from behind you. To me they sound good and are worth the money if you actually want that surround sound effect.

Needed back speakers to help with the surround sound to my living room. Easy to set up and they sound great for not breaking the bank.

Decent speakers to expand your sound bar setup. If you turn on surround mode you’ll hear them and you can always make them louder by changing the surround volume mode directly on the sound bar. Easy to mount and easy to setup. Decent looking mesh on front and good looking exterior metal appearance. Wired hub connects wirelessly to main system and remains connected most of the time. I would have rated this 5/5 if it had an upward firing speaker to add to the atmos experience that comes on the sound bar.

A nice enhancement, not worth the price

I have the n850 Atmos (older model of the q80) and after using these speskers for a bit so far I'm not overly impressed. The speakers are a nice enhancement, but that just depends on the content and size of the room. In any case these are at best just an enhancement and not the same as a true home surround sound. As others have reviewed they are hard to hear and require adjustments to make them noticeable. Outside of Atmos content they really aren't noticeable even right next to your ear. I had to do a lot of tweaking to improve the sound levels. Happy I did since I was able to improve the quality of the soundbar. But, that still doesnt solve the issue of low audio levels. The other issue of room size. It's better to have the receiver close to the soundbar for better signal. Farther away the weaker the signal and the harder to hear. A related issue is the included cables are really short and the receiver unit has a special connector so you can't use just any speaker cable. Which is a shame since the included cables are super thin and probably can't carry much signal. Would recommend to get on sale and/or to buy to try. I'm keeping mine and probably look into replacing the cables to see if that helps. These aren't too bad when in small to medium size rooms.

      Rickg411:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung SWA-9000S Rear Loudspeaker Kit and sharing your thoughts and opinions.

By design, the surround speakers are supposed to simulate sounds happening behind the viewer. Therefore, most of the time the surround channels are only used for ambient sounds, which are naturally lower in volume.

However, there are a few settings you can change to adjust the surround effect to your preference:

      1) Make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If the source is not capable of surround, then set the Surround mode to OFF on the Soundbar by pressing the Surround button on the remote.

      2) If the source has surround channels, select the desired Sound Mode from the Soundbar remote. Choices are STANDARD, MUSIC, CLEAR VOICE, SPORTS, or MOVIE.

      3) Turn off Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holing the Sound Mode button while the Soundbar is in standby mode.

      4) Increase the volume level of the surround speakers using the Sound Control button on the Soundbar remote control.
      a. For example, if you are connected to the Samsung Harman Kardon HW-Q80R, you would press the Sound Control button on the Q80R remote (looks like a gear), then select REAR LEVEL and use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.

The Samsung 9000S rear speakers are very easy to pair. I have it connected to the 750 soundbar. I plugged in the receiver after connecting the speakers to it. Turned on the soundbar and they automatically connected. The sound is not too lout but does give a decent rear speaker experience. This is not totally wireless as the speakers themselves have to connect to the receiver using speaker wire. It’s the receiver that’s a wireless connection to the soundbar. On sale for less than $100 made my decision easier to make the purchase.

I bought these as an open box item and went perfect with my Samsung 650R Soundbar and subwoofer. Gives that surround sound when you don't have the option of a receiver and its speakers. Very easy to set up and sounds pretty good. Able to adjust the volume for these thru the soundbar as well

In true HD and Dolby shows you can hear the speakers behind you, in most movies it's the same, I wish I could adjust the volume a bit more than the sound bar allows. I don't LOVE it, but I don't regret the purchase and got it on sale, so no harm, no foul.

It worked well. Could have more sound in my opinion. I had to take it back though because with the sound bar you can't have more than one wireless product. I already had the woofer. Sound couldn't hook up the rear speakers without it taking out the woofer.

Add a pair of these, just choose the correct model, and the surround sound is really great. Yes that 5.1 sound bar can do it, but adding these really make that home theater pop. Easy set up. Just follow the directions.

These speakers are awesome! Keep in mind that it is not truly wireless. The speakers actually connect to a receiver via 2 small cables. Having this while watching Hamilton or other movies that makes use of lots of sounds make the experience worth the price.

I purchased these as rear surround speakers for my Samsung Q70T theater system... they Bluetoothed wirelessly to it and the sound is behind me now.. I haven't figured out if they're true surround sound back there but they do sound good. I love them

Not completely wireless as they have wires that connect the speakers to a hub. Completes a total surround sound effect along with main sound bar and subwoofer. Great sound. The wireless connector size did not fit into sound bar. Had to buy an adaptor to make in work. Thus should have been included as I was connecting to a Samsung sound bar.

These work fine if you don't mind the fact that you can not turn the left or right volume up separate for bigger rooms or odd shaped rooms where one would be farther away from your head than the other. It's either going to to loud or to soft on one side if that's the case. Lucky my room is neither so it works fine. They don't get to terrible loud so cannot set them to far away or will not be able to notice them on. They do help if you have just the Soundbar up front though to fill out the sound.

Wish it was a bit louder. But it's still a great buy. Works better if you placed them opposite your home theater system. Like on each end of an end table or shelf besides your couch. You'll hear the voices & hi's better.
