Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the sound quality of the wireless rear speakers, often forgetting they are there and mistaking sounds for real-life occurrences. The easy plug-and-play setup is also appreciated. However, some customers have concerns about the volume not being loud enough and compatibility issues with certain center speakers.

I like the Samsung compatibility factor with my TV. These rear speakers are nominal and they will provide a certain level of surround sound performance. You can’t change the volume or balance for just the rear speakers. In conjunction with the sound bar and woofer they perform just fine for my personal needs.

    'Open Box' Buyers Beware...

Would love to love these speakers but... Unfortunately when my hubby opened the resealed 'open box' set on Christmas Day the 'wireless dongle' (which we think is supposed to plug into the sound bar to allow it and the speakers' control box to communicate with each other) was missing. (A wall hanger attachment was also not in the box but it wasn't important to us.) The set was sold as 'excellent condition with no missing accessories' so I foolishly didn't realize that it should have been reopened, checked and resealed again while I was there in the store when I picked it up on Christmas Eve. I returned it to our local store yesterday and a very pleasant customer service rep advised me that's what is supposed to happen with 'open box' items. I'll know better next time if I ever opt for 'open box' again. Since they had none of the sets in stock she offered to either order it or give a full refund. I chose the refund this time since we may upgrade the whole sound setup anyway. An apology for the inconvenience would have been nice too, but 'complaint handling' training seems to be a thing of the past for most businesses these days. I'm giving the product a good score since most people here seem pleased with them.

Sounds good in a 30'x18' living room. Adds that extra vocals and sounds from side/rear. Gets loud but could be more heavy on bass. Not a bad addition. The only thing I could suggest would be longer speaker wire or at least the option to add extra length via quick connect cable maybe.

Samsung Sound+ Soundbar? You need this!

These rear speakers made for the Sound+ Soundbars is almost a required purchase. In fact, Samsung should just sell these with them or as a package. They are wireless between the Soundbar to the speakers, but the rear speakers must be attached to the little receiver that looks like a book. Whatever you do, don't lose the little dongle that you must place on your soundbar to activate the reception between the soundbar and the rear speaker receiver. After that, these things really assist in making the Sound+ a much better system overall and provides a much better soundstage than the sound bar alone. Now, if I can only save enough for the add-on subwoofer...

These came with a Samsung sound plus sound bar I purchased, I didn’t think I needed them at first after installing the sound bar. I didn’t use them at first but after a couple weeks I hooked them up & WOW! What difference, they don’t put out much sound & you don’t always hear them but when the surround sound actually kicks in, it really sounds good. You can totally hear things moving across the room like it’s real, the sound + bar sounds great but these truly complete your surround sound package, only need the subwoofer to complete it.

Got the S9000 series surround speaker system to go along with our Q80 sound bar. Works great together and sounds wonderful with intense surround sound during movies! Since our living room was pre-wired for surround sound when we built our house, I only used the receiver of this system to connect my Bose 601 speakers that are wall mounted in the back of the room. Was not sure if the wireless receiver would push these speakers since it had to transmit thru about 40 feet of speaker wire that runs in the walls. BUT, it does great driving those speakers and the sound is wonderful!

No way to adjust them very loud. Have them maxed out and you can still barely hear anything. I would still recommend them though because they to round out the overall sound a bit but only if you get them really really cheap on sale!

      Spartacus:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung Wireless Rear Loud Speakers.

By design, the surround speakers are supposed to simulate sounds happening behind the viewer. Therefore, most of the time the surround channels are only used for ambient sounds, which are naturally lower in volume.

However, there are a few settings you can change to adjust the surround effect to your preference:

      1) Make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If the source is not capable of surround, then set the Surround mode to OFF on the Soundbar by pressing the Surround button on the remote.

      2) If the source has surround channels, select the desired Sound Mode from the Soundbar remote.

      3) Turn off Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holing the Sound Mode button while the Soundbar is in standby mode. Depending on your soundbar model, you may or may not have DRC.

      4) Increase the volume level of the surround speakers using the Sound Control button on the Soundbar remote control.
      a. For example, if you are connected to the Samsung Harman Kardon HW-Q80R, you would press the Sound Control button on the soundbar remote (looks like a gear), then select REAR LEVEL and use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.

I hope these tips help to enhance your audio enjoyment.

These speakers complete the soundbar. Making the soundbar a 7.1.2 system. They connect wirelessly to the bar. A central power unit connecrs to both speakers and then is,a[red to,the soundbar. You really need these when using the Dolby atmos feature of the soundbar.

I purchased the Samsung Harmon Kardon N850 sound bar and it was not compatible with my SWA-8500 rear speakers. I ended up getting the SWA-9000s as I knew they would be compatible. I read the reviews of many reviewers writing about the "loudness" of these. They are as loud as they need to be IMO. They are also bigger than the swa-8500s with more sound than they could put out. They complement surround sound wonderfully and I highly recommend them. Give the movie Ready Player One a test. The first race scene for the first key is absolutely amazing and will make you smile!
