I Use it to supplement the storage in my windows 11 laptop and for data backup. Its fast and it was an easy plug and play operation. It comes with security software to encrypt the drive contents which slows down the mounting of the drive but its an acceptable trade off for the security aspect of securing your data.

Unfortunately the drive heats up and runs extremely slow. I have some 'My Passport SSD' from WD and they work seamlessly. Was very disappointed in the performance of this drive. Fine for storage but dont plan on using it as a quick access drive.

I should have known when more often this would suddenly eject itself. But using it so little the thought slipped my mind. Not even 2 years in and this drive is dead. "Insert disk" error on several PCs and devices. Come to learn WD is now being sued because the failures are so common yet ignored by them. These are being heavily discount often. DO NOT fall for it, WD is offloading bad products.

This is a great amount of storage with USB-C speeds. I highly recommend it. It is also very compact and fits in the laptop case so she has it with her anytime she needs to use her laptop.
