This is an excellent product. The physical size for portability on the run and the 1 TB capacity are a great combination for use on my laptop or other available devices at hotels, conference centers, and 3rd party offices.

It’s tiny, fast and seems sturdy. The small size is convenient to pack and go. This was purchased primarily for file and photo backups and it didn’t take long to transfer everything from an older drive. The security features are a nice plus.

The best thing I like about the product is its security. In Windows, after you set a password for the drive, when you plug it in, it appears as a read-only CD Drive. You run a program on that drive to enter the password. After you enter the password the whole drive appears. You don't have to put the files you want password-protected into a vault as with other Sandisk drives.

It was either this SanDisk or the Samsung SSD, and I'm glad I went with this! Much more durable than my older hard drive and incredibly fast- editing 4K footage on an iMac with Final Cut Pro. I actually went out and got a second one of these after maxing out the storage on my first. Both have been put through a lot- being slung in the bottom of my backpack, tossed on the desk, even dropped in a coffee shop- and no issues! Also keeps really clean!
Writing this review as I'm considering getting a third one.

small, sturdy, occasionally on sale. I only buy solid state anymore.
learn the differences in USB 3.0 Gen 1 Gen 1.1 Gen 1.2 Gen 2.0 Gen 2.1 ng Gen 2.2, and NVMe encoding. You may have guessed that Gen 2.2 is fastest. it is also the most expensive. In fact the top of the line is probably faster than anything you will connect to it. So if you don't need it save $50 per TB and get the slower one. But I am a speed snob so I get a few of the fastest and they are my working drives. the medium and slow ones are foe cold storage. I have some of the fisrt SSD and they still work well. Also I learned one thing recently. Don't constantly defrag SSD. It uses up some of its life and it isn't that necessary.

Compact and light, very nice to have all your large files fit in something so small.
I wish I would have gotten more than the 1TB. It fills up so fast by how convenient it is to grab, dump, and go.
Very fast & portable, right-sized SSD backup drive

I love this little SSD storage device. I’ve bought a couple of them. (I must confess, I got them on sale for $99. That is a scoop… especially for a 1 TB size.)
These are only 2” x 4”, weigh less than 2 ounces, fit nicely in the hand; and, they have a very convenient, decent sized carabiner loop on the upper right side of the device. The rubberized coating is very nonslip.
Transfer rates? Approximately 1 GB per second! That’s fast!
This comes with a [short] connecting cable that works with USB Type C or A (USB 3.2 Gen2).
SanDisk has been a trusted supplier of these products for decades. As partial evidence, these have five-year parts and labor warranties!

Has all the benefits of a usb storage disc and an external hardrive with hardly any of the draw backs. Comes with a USBc to USBc and a USBc to USB cable for use with any computer.

Great external ssd. I have the Sandisk extreme model before this one as well. To be honest can’t tell much of a difference in speed but would recommend either
