So far, the SSD is working OK, I decided it was too large to test with Verification utility so I will trust BestBuy that it is authentic. The supplied cable is just a tad over 6 inches which I feel is too short, would have suited me better if it were at least 12 inches.

I bought it because of the great deal. After using for the first time, it just got very hot during writing and reading data. It will probably break sooner if the heat is too much from using. Not recommend to buy.

I needed at least 3TB in a hurry for a video project. This was perfect for my needs. I tested the write speed and it was over 4X as fast as my 2 TB external SanDisk drive.

Probably could've been a great little SSD.
Unfortunately, the pre-loaded security software insisted that I create a username and password before I could access the main drive. I tried 3 - yes, 3 times to reformat the drive. Every time I reconnected the drive, it was magically back, insisting I install it before I could use the drive.
This was supposed to be a photo archive for an elderly lady, and I knew that if I couldn't use it without using the security software, neither could she. The other brand I replaced it with is working perfectly.
We sincerely apologize for the continued frustration. The fact that the security software keeps reappearing after multiple reformats is an unusual issue that should not happen. This item is a life saver, I was able to back up my important pictures, videos, and files. I would definitely recommend this external hard disk!

Very unstable after 6 months of use. Almost lost all data. When I load data until it only has 1.9 GB of empty spaces, it becomes very hot. Then, the data is very unstable, and cannot be either transferred out or deleted.
